"Sure thing." She says between bites of cereal. Good boy. Now, you have class to attend. I shall not distract you overly much...today.
Arriving at the classroom, Felicia moves toward Alex and Mia, the only other people she's acquainted with in the academy. "Good morning you two." She greets them with a soft smile, with Alex, the she dueled with recognizing that her attitude is completely different when she's not in a duel.
She was going to be a bit of work to get into proper shape, but nothing impossible. "First, it starts with accepting there's still a need to grow. Second, you just need to trust that your cards know what they're doing. And most importantly....acknowledging the fact they're alive." She said the last part a bit quieter. She couldn't be too sure, but she already has some resonation, so she likely was aware of more than she thought. She didn't even question the implication that it's spoken to her at least once. "If you want to learn about the difference between just playing cards and true mastery of the spirit of the game, you know where you need to sign up."
Mia raises her head from the book it's buried in. "G-good morning. I h-heard about what you and the others d-did yesterday from Professor Itou. I'm g-glad you're a-alright." Alex nods quietly, smiling slightly.
"Oh? You... heard about the nuns, huh." Felicia mumbles in a low tone to avoid the other students from hearing. "Thanks, it was tough, but nothing we couldn't handle." She gives Mia a smile, "Oh, also, I met your mom. She's the receptionist in the Admin Tower, right?"
Umimaru is silent for a moment before speaking. "I'll think about it." She mutters. "Alive...Is that a metaphor? 'Trust your cards,' or some shit?"
She shakes her head. "N-no, not the d-details. Just that s-something happened and I-I had to w-watch Diana for a while. N-nuns, huh?" Mia nods. "Y-yeah..." Spoiler: Perception Roll 76+20(perceptive)=96 strong success She doesn't seem to be comfortable talking about her mother. Her cheeks turns red, but Felicia gets the feeling it's not just embarrassment causing Mia's reaction. A woman in a suit with an air of authority enters the room, sitting behind the desk at the front of the room as the clock ticks down to the start of class. Spoiler: Woman
"You already know the answer." Julia's tone clearly wasn't being insulting, just stating it as simple matter of fact. "The whole point of enrolling was to improve your skills. You can learn a lot here, if you're willing. I imagine your skills have improved plenty against Takashi...but through each of those battles, he gets better as well. And he's also here ready to take his skills further. The distance between you will just increase and he'll soon be completely out of reach if you're unable to break past limiting yourself to just what you can see."
Taking note of Mia's discomfort about her mother, "O-oh, sorry, I didn't mean anything by it. She just helped me out, is all." Felicia replies with a smile. But then, as another red-head enters the classroom, and sits behind the teacher's desk. "She must be our professor." She said in a low tone, as she takes a seat next to Mia and Adam.
Spoiler: Persuasion Roll 31+10(Charisma)+10(Intelligence)-10(Stubborn)=41 weak fail "Like I said, I'll think about it. Okay?" Umimaru says, exasperated.
"Please do." That was the most she was going to get. It would be enough. Stepping out of the way, she let Umi go off to her next class. It might take time, but she would show up eventually.
He reaches the classroom for his Writing 1 course with a couple minutes to spare. The professor, a blond woman, stands at the front of the room making small talk with some of the students. The blackboard behind her reads "Prof. Phoebe Neil" in messy handwriting. Spoiler: Professor For the first time since their encounter in the chapel, Adam sees Haunani. The white-haired woman sits in the front row, watching the professor warily.
"N-no, it's f-fine!" Mia fails to hide her shame. "I-it just feels w-weird that s-she's here. T-that's all." The suited woman stands and introduces herself. "Good morning, everyone. I am Professor Olivia Dorton. Welcome to Speech." Her voice is brusque and as business-like as her attire. "First things first, do any of you know the terms ethos, pathos, and logos? Don't be shy, all of you will be forced to talk eventually. Might as well get it out of the way now."
Adam can't help but grin as he sees his busty professor, but his lustful mirth is cut short as he spots Huanani. Sitting out of the white haired girl's view, he observes her quietly. Why would Haunani be cautious of Professor Neil?
With the classroom empty as Umimaru brushes by, Julia has around fifteen minutes until her next class, Survey of Mythology and Religion. Looking over the registered students, Angelica Neumann, Haunani Wen, and Michio Takeuchi are some of the names she recognizes.
"Right, I guess it would be weird when your parents are so close to you in school." Felicia agrees with Mia, not that she's experienced it before. Then as the professor spoke, Felicia watches the other students, wondering if anyone of them will give an answer. But if no one does, "Ethos, appeals to the speaker's status or authority, making the audience more likely to trust them. Pathos, appeals to the emotions, trying to make the audience feel angry or sympathetic. Logos, appeals to the audience's reason, building up logical arguments." The red-head speaks up, giving a copy/pasted definition she recalled in her high-school classes.
Spoiler: Logic Roll 89=89 success Aside from supernatural explanations such as Haunani's spirit being cautious of the professor, Phoebe has already garnered a reputation as an avid, uninhibited partygoer. Maybe... Spoiler: Commune Roll 73=73 success Stop yourself there. It's nothing so complex. You two were seen by this Phoebe Neil while copulating.
She was more excited to see a class she cared about. A few interesting names....but she wondered how things might go with them all in the same place. There was no proof of Hannuni's involvement with things, but....that didn't mean Julia could not be a little wary about her. (Can't think of much to add here. Sorry. Brain's not working today.)
Oh. Ooohhh... Adam grins again, this time looking straight at his professor. Thanks for chipping in. Of course, it might have been nice to have your input during the whole Shadow Game thing. He thinks to his duel spirit. Think Phoebe's in any danger, or is Huanani just embarrassed?
