Fallout: Nuclear Remnants

‘Not spreading your legs? Oh... Miller is a massive prick, he tried the same with Amanda. Can’t you go to the Overseer and file a complaint or something?’ Jack sighed.

‘Well, you saved my ass at least,’ Jack smiled.

 

Audrey looks down, "Yeah, the overseer. Who do you think made me report to Miller?" She pinches the bridge of her nose, as she shakes her head. "Don't need to worry about me. Just take care of Amanda, I saw her drinking in the disposal room a couple hours ago."

 

‘Oh... oh, really? Him too, huh? What the hell is wrong with this place,’ Jack shook his head. He chuckled, ‘Oh, I don’t worry about you, Audrey. I know you can handle yourself. It’s just not fair that they treat you like a piece of meat.’ He sighed, ‘Yeah... Amanda... she wants to be left alone, I’d just make things worse.’

 

Audrey chuckles, "Heh. Maybe if I was just a piece of meat I wouldn't be in this mess." She said sarcastically.

 

‘Well, guarding some toilets for a while is better than being digusted with yourself,’ Jack chuckled, ‘Keep your head up. I’m heading to my mom’s, need to empty the fridge before everything goes bad. You can join us after your shift, if you like.’

 

Audrey shrugs, "Yeah. I guess you're right." She takes a deep breath, then lets out a long sigh. "Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to decline. Even though everything's in chaos, I still haven't visited my grandfather... damn, I really screwed up..."

 

‘You’re security, I’m sure he’ll understand,’ Jack said, ‘See you around then, Audrey.’

Jack left her and headed to his mother’s home.

 

"Yeah. I hope he does." Audrey said in a slightly depressed tone. As Jack left, Audrey returned to guarding the toilets.

 

Jack reaches his Mothers Home. She cleans The Table with a wet Towel as he enters.

"Hey glad You came Dear." She smiles

 

Audreys Shift ends shortly after, giving her freetime for The Rest of The Day.

 

‘Well, it’s a small vault, I have no excuse to not come over,’ Jack chuckled as he sat down at the table. ‘How’re you doing?’

 

"Im doing well....Ok not really" she sits down and holds her forhead.

 

With her shift done, Audrey heads for the security post to return her equipment. After that she heads to her grandfather's room to check on him.

 

‘What’s wrong, mom?’ Jack said with concern in his voice.

 

His Mom sighs

"I was by The Doctor....and...and He said I should take it more easy from now on"

 

‘More easy? You’re barely past forty, what’d he mean by that?’ Jack asked.

 

She sobs and her eyes go teary.

"You gotta be strong now ok? For Your Father aswell...I....I have Braincancer"

 

‘Brain cancer? Oh my god, mom,’ Jack went to her side and hugged her.

 

Jacks Mother sobs and calms herself

"No point in crying....it wont Help."

 

Audrey finds her Grandfather in his Room, washing The Dirty Plates by The Sink.
