{No problem} As Captain made her way to the shuttle, the security detail was already waiting inside. Spoiler: ? 23 - fail "Captain, we are ready to lunch." The pilot said as she entered the shuttle. "On your order-" The pilot said as she was ready to take off. It was probably last moment to make last minute adjuctments.
Victoria made one last check to make sure everything was in order – and that Sylvie was there – and then gave the order for take off.
As Victoria looked around, she realised that Sylvie was absent. After some arrangments, the medic soon joined the crew. The shuttle took off and started moving towards the planet. The crew chatted quietly between each other. Suddenly, the pilot called. "T-15! Captain! Want us to land i the middle of village, or should we search for some struggles around the village?" She asked.
“Let's not give the locals a heart attack by landing right in the middle of their village. They might react poorly to us doing so and attack us. Land some distance from the village, but not too far away – a 5 to 10 minutes walk should be enough.” Victoria instructed.
"Roger that!" The pilot nodded. The travel took few more minutes, before the Halo shuttle landed. The ten clones - including four security clones, stood up and looked at Victoria, awaiting her orders.
“Alright, spread out and check the area around the shuttle, but do not go so far that you can no longer see it. If you see any of the locals, do not attack them unless they attack first, and if they do try to disable them. Also, keep an eye out for potentially hostile flora and fauna.” Victoria gave her orders as soon as they had landed. Her and Sylvie would be the last to disembark, for security reasons.
The ramp opened up, and the clones started walking out.., they formed a premeter around the shuttle. Soon, all raised weapons and aimed at the plants, the bushes. A moment later an 'alien' walked out of the vegetation. Shuttle's arrival must have stayed noticed. The alien was of humanoid shape, through there was additional bone structure reinforcing her body. She had red skin and defined features, golden eyes and a look... of a warrior. Spoiler: Will 21 - fail Victoria's eyes landed on woman's bussom, her face, despite being alien, looked attractive... and it struked her. She needed to bed the female!
Victoria tried to ignore the lewd ideas she was getting just from looking at the woman – there would be time enough to seduce her later. Instead she focused on what she was supposed to be doing – making (hopefully friendly) contact. “Hello! Can you understand me?” She asked the unknown female.
As Victoria spoke, trying to ignore her natural instincts, she felt her pussy itch, with need. It... it will be more difficult to concentrate now. "Reaiumi, Arak ut, casar." The woman spoke, as she tilted her head.
Apparently not. I guess it was too much to hope that the locals would have a language similar to ours. Hopefully our technology can help fix that... Victoria shook her head and gave the unknown woman an apologetic look. “Sorry, I do not understand.” She then turned to the nearest clone. “Try to translate what she is saying.” (I'm not sure what the exact technology level of the Federation is, but I assume they have some sort of translation technology.)
The translation devices, were based on dumb AI technology. The more it heard, the more it learned, and the better translations it gave. WHen it learned the l;language, special translation nanobots could be injected into bloodtreem, to make person understand the language. The clone nooded, took out a translator pad and walked to the female - only to stop, when she asumed battle position. "Ah... Captain?" The close called, not really sure how to proceed.
This sort of thing seemed so much easier when I was studying about it... “It's alright, we won't hurt you. We mean you no harm. We're friends.” Victoria tried reassuring the native, repeating the same lines over and over, while making gestures that – hopefully – seemed not threatening. The clone would have to wait until the woman had calmed down.
Spoiler: Diplomacy 45 +10 (diplomacy) -20 (language barrier) - fail As Victoria continued showing gestures, the woman seemed to look at her puzzled... and started backing of to the forest.
Dammit... “Everyone, pull back a bit.” Victoria ordered the clones, then sat down on the ground and gestured to the empty space in front of her, hoping that the hunter(?) would understand at least this much...
Spoiler: diplomacy 78 +10 (diplomacy) -20 (language barrier) - success The woman frowned... but slowly, she started making her way to Victoria. Her eyes never left the clones behind Victoria. Slowly she stopped a two meters in front of Victoria... Spoiler: ? 10 It was at this time, that bushes behind her started moving, as a number of locals made it to the opening.
Seeing the new arrivals Victoria got back up and waited to see what they would do. “I suppose none of you can understand me as well?” She asked, trying to get them to talk and thus provide more data for their translation software – that seemed like the best thing to do.
"Hgyt!" One of the men said, they seemed to prepare weapons. "Uk-arei. Thio, care ka." The woman in front of Victoria answered. There was trumping, and the situation seemed to be tense...
“Get ready to defend against an attack, but do not attack first.” Victoria instructed the clones. It was risky letting the natives make the first move, but it seemed like the best choice under the circumstances.
As Victoria choose to wait, the discussion between the natives started getting more and more hot. The woman Victoria first meet, got up and started loudly saying something, pointing at Victoria ad her clones, gesticulating... The one she was... discussing... or arguing with, was a male... maybe some kind of warrior... The discussion seemed to be getting hotter, as the gathered natives seemed to be more and more agitated.
Well, at least she doesn't seem to be telling them to attack us. That's a good sign, I guess... Let's see what they do next. The longer they argue the longer our translation tools have to decipher their language... Victoria thought as she kept observing the argument.
