Oh, yeah, I remember him now, he was Celes' adoptive father if I recall correctly. Yep, Cosmos in a good or bad ending situation would be cool. A non-human team sounds good. Aside from the ones you've mentioned, there's Quina from FF9 (I still have no idea what that thing is, lol), Red and Cait Sith from FF7, just to mention a few. There can be an all-female team as well, lol (maybe Yuna, Rinoa, Ashe, Tifa and Celes or Terra).
Wow, I can't believe I didn't think of Red! An all female team lol.... That would probably end up being the more erotic branch than the others. I can see Chaos sitting on his throne and chuckling as he decides to have his minions focus on humiliating them instead of killing them. I was always more of a Celes fan than Terra fan. The first half of that game focused on Terra, but the second half seemed to shift in favor of Celes. In fact, I always felt that she and Locke were more the heroes than Terra and that they just used Terra to get the game rolling. Lol which version of Yuna do you think would be better for the story, summoner Yuna or X-2 Gunner Yuna?
Yeah, the girls' team was a suggestion for a more erotic oriented branch. I'm a Celes fan too, I always looked forward to her scenes with Locke. I've always liked Gunner Yuna better, too damn sexy, lol. But I suppose Summoner Yuna would work better depending on which kind of character the writer needs on his branch.
Celes and Locke had some great scenes. What about Rydia (Older version of course) as a lead? Without the power to summon at first, she would be considerably weaker.... Gunner Yuna was sexy as hell. I liked her more positive attitude as well. Rikku from X-2 was better as well! From 12, I'm not sure I could write about Penelo... She never was interesting to me, just a tagging along with the group because Vaan was forced into it. Fran and Ashe though... More Fran than Ashe, but both were nice eye candy in the game.
I'm not sure I'd put Rydia as a lead, but she could be a great asset to the group. Yeah, Gunner Yuna was better in every aspect, she was sexier and had more personality too. I see Penelo being similar to Rikku, but I wouldn't put her in a team as well, the only good thing about her was the scenes with Vaan (him I could put in a team). On FF12, my favorites were Balthier and Ashe, I think the writers missed a great opportunity to pair them off, with their personalities it'd make for great scenes.
Rydia would be a good girl to have. Rosa was very good looking, especially in after years. Might have to do a team with her in it instead of Cecil. Lol what about Paine? Oh god, I'm not quite sure how I would play her in a story.... I think Balthier and Fran actually had a sexual relationship, but it wasn't really discussed. I think it was mentioned that he was the reason Fran wasn't with the Viera in their forest, but I could be wrong, it has been forever since I played it. I'm a big Tifa fan, but I think it would have been interesting if instead of just automatically losing Aerith, that there was a affection meter that made it so you lost either Tifa or her depending on who was lower. It could change the story when you play every time lol.
I don't really remember Rosa too much, it has been too much time since I've played FF4. I think Rydia stood up more. I liked Paine's serious attitude, she could be a member in a team. With guys like Balthier, Zidane or Zell, it'd make for some fun scenes, like the ones she had with Rikku on FF10-2. I had that impression as well, they were too close to not have had sex at least a few times. If I remember well, Fran wasn't with the other Viera because she was banished for something. It'd be a great idea for the FF7 producers to have. They could put that in the remake that's on the works, but I think they wouldn't want to stray too much from the original game.
Rydia was more interesting to me than Rosa, but I kept Rosa in the group because I liked her more than Porum as a healer. Pain could be fun to play. She does have an attitude, but she is a true and caring friend. Wonder how that would work out in a sexual situation... Dom or secret Sub? She was banished because she chose to leave I believe. Like I said though, it has been quite a while so I could be wrong on the details. It probably would stray too much. Wonder how they will work the optional characters Yuffie and Vincent....
I guess Leblanc would be as well, but she's more open about herself, I suppose. Paine would be that girl you would have to chat up a lot before she considered doing something with you, and only then she would turn to that freak in bed. Well, that's the vibe I got from her, at least.
Lol now I'm wanting to start a new hero team just to have Paine in it. That would be pretty fun I think to have her be the way you are describing. Hmmmm.... That could be an interesting scene with either a man or a woman. Have her with Agrias from FF Tactics maybe. The proper and disciplined knight having a few drinks and talking with Paine and they end up back in Paine's room where Agrias would be shy and nervous, not used to something like being with a woman, and Paine taking the lead as very dominant and forceful.... Damn, that could be interesting. Suggestions for a male counterpart for that scene instead of a woman? What are your thoughts on Aerith? In the original FF 7 she wasn't shy or meek at all. She had a wild streak, like suggesting Cloud dress as a woman, and even trying to outdo him so Corneo would choose her. And beating him to the Sector 6 exit... Later games tried to show her as being more meek, but that isn't really her at all in my opinion. Her wild side could be fun to play with.
I guess characters like Balthier, Zidane or Setzer can be good counterparts for that scene. Someone who would aggravate Paine with their funny ways before she got tired of it and dragged them to bed. I always liked Aerith, I guess she differed from the traditional innocent female protagonist, such as Yuna or Garnet. She was more like Rinoa in that sense, in my opinion. There's a theme we haven't talked about for creating a team: an all summoner team. Yuna, Rydia, Garnet (or Eiko), Terra and one more.
Lol Zidane would be perfect for that! He is always flirting and fooling around. I can see Paine finally getting tired of it and just grabbing his ass and pulling him to a bed. Wonder how she would use his tail? Yeah Aerith and Rinoa were both great in that sense. Neither of them was the typical "Damsel in Distress" even when they were in danger. Rinoa was leading the resistance when you met her and Aerith was more than willing to jump into danger and even seemed to find it fun at times. That would be an interesting team... Partly because they will have absolutely no summons at first. This would be a group with little to no power in the beginning. Rydia would have some black magic and Yuna and Garnet some healing magic, but other than that, they wouldn't have much. Terra could fit, given that she is half eidolon, and would at least have some skill with a sword, so that would be something at least. A good fit for final team member would be either Aerith or Linaly from the FF Legend of the Crystals animated movie. Linaly was only able to summon a weak Chocobo and a barrage of chocobo, but she was able to sense the crystals and their power. Eiko seems a little too young for me for the group unless we pulled her from a place in time many years after the game ended. I made my first group mostly female, so do you think that was a good idea or should we have the next one be mostly men (Or our all female summoner team?)
I think the thematic teams, be it thieves, ninjas or summoners could be a fun thread. Meanwhile, I'm trying to come up with a team of characters I'd like to see together, but it's hard to choose, lol. There are many great characters.
I know, it took forever for me to decide on my first team. Lol got any you are certain that you want in the team or are you still completely unsure?
Balthier and gunner Yuna are musts, they're amongst my favorite characters. I like Squall and Zidane as well, but I'm not sure how they would fit into it yet. I'll certainly include a FF8 character though, since I plan to make a heavy use of Balamb Garden if I get to develop the thread.
I'm good with Balamb Garden, I just suggest starting in Midgar. It is currently the biggest and most advance city in the game, which is why I had Cosmos start them there. Lots of potential for allies (Depending on who you have in the party, you could possibly get Shinra, AVALANCHE, Corneo..... (Yeah....), or a mixture of the three. I'm got a bit of a plan up my sleeve I plan to have posted tomorrow or saturday. its going to take about three or four posts to get to the point I've got planned so far. Thinking Shinra is going to be divided between Papa Shinra and Rufus, so one side might be more willing to help out the team and their AVALANCHE allies. If you are going with both Balthier and Yuna, you are putting two long distance fighters in. If you want to go powerhouse, Squall is a great addition. If not (And you want to continue the gunner theme) you could go Irvine or Laguna. That being said, I know Balthier can equip basically anything thanks to how 12 was done, i just consider him a gunner because of his starting weapon. Lol that's why I started Fran off with a bow. Zidane is a good character to have in my opinion. He is fast, got a lot of good skills, and has a good mixture of HP, Defense, and attack. He can take a hit and dish one out. Probably the strongest Thief class fighter that the Final Fantasy series has had. That would give you three men and one woman lol. So what about the last spot? I would kind of suggest a another woman, otherwise Yuna going to have her hands full....
I see your point about Midgar, what can possibly make me start somewhere else is that there's a lot of FFs above FF7 in my favorite list, so I don't really really remember much about Midgar. For me, the interesting aspect of starting there is that most of the FF games take place in a medieval-looking world, so an advanced city can be a nice shock to some of the characters in the team (Esthar fits that bill as well, it's very large and is even more advanced than Midgar). FF12's cities are big as well. I probably won't add Squall and Zidane at once, I think I'll choose only one of them. I'm planning to have two men and three women: Balthier, Yuna, Zidane or Squall, Rydia (just decided on including her) and a third female (she'll be from FF8 in the case Squall doesn't get chosen, so I guess it'll be Selphie). Although, Balthier and Zidane as the only men in the group can probably mean a very rocky ride for them, lol.
Lol Squall would be a good foil for Balthier with how their personalities differ. Balthier is the noble rogue (And true hero of 12) and Squall if the strong silent but deeply caring warrior. But Zidane and Balthier? Both noble rogues, both with strong sense of right and wrong. Differences though is that Zidane is a shameless flirt most of the time and can be quite lewd (Grabbed Garnet's ass, taught Vivi to piss outside, called Freya "Ratchelle" as a joke) while Balthier isn't more subtle and not quite as flirty. He tries to make you see that even though he is helping, he is still a rogue (Holds on to Ashe's ring "Until I find something better.") Both Squall and Zidane could go well with Balthier, but how they play off of each other would have to be wildly different. Selphie could be a fun addition. Very perky.... Rydia wasn't quite perky, but she was usually fairly upbeat. Just remember with Rydia that she wouldn't have access to summons in the beginning.
