“There's nothing to apologize for. I have met my share of idiots and morons. I guess you had the misfortune of meeting one that was an Elf.” Or maybe I was lucky to not meet any that were elves. She added in her mind. “I hope you won't judge me based solely on my race, the way someone seems to have judged you in the past.” She said to the mocha-skinned woman's back. Syleen noticed the way the half-elf checked out her body but pretended not to. Though she could only guess about the details it was clear to her that something had happened in the white-haired woman's past – something involving a pure-blooded elf. The woman – called Nalana, if Syleen had heard her correctly earlier – would need some time before she could get used to the company of an elf. But Syleen was patient and in no hurry – she would wait and see how things would develop...
Keira gave a happy wave to the other two and an apologetic smiles before the witch turned back to her and posed the question. She sat silently for a second, staring thoughtfully at Nalana before busting out another goofy genuine smile and putting a hand comfortingly on her 'new friend's' shoulder. She didn't know what had upset her but wanted to be as helpful as possible. "It was nothing. I'm not sure how much use I will be but if you need anything at all I will be here for you Miss Yinrie!" The monk replied, with a hint of worry. Her entire demeanor made her look a bit like an over-eager puppy, and her Amber eyes beamed at the half-elf. "My master taught me to always be there for ones friends!"
Nalana smiled at Keira's over-enthusiasms, the dimwit didn't understand a thing from things that transpired and- wait, master? Before she could inquire about inquire about that the elf spoke again. The damn pure-blood couldn't but in worse moment. After her words, she gave the elf a polite nod – there was really not much to say. She then turned back to Keira. She would inquire about that master of hers, but later – this was not the right place for this. “Ah, then, if there will be time later, I would invite you to the Inn, I'm staying at. There is much to discuss.”
After quietly observing the exchange, Damar looks questioningly between the two elves, before, in an attempt to break the mounting tension, happily asking: "So, why are you people here?"
Keira was happy for the change of topic as she was nearly broke and the mention of an inn set her ears blazing red in embarrassment. She turned her chair so that she was facing everyone assembled and gave another wide smile. She had to fight a bit not to show fear when she saw the human man, not because he was frightening himself per say, but because she had been conditioned to fear men by her many slave owners. She silently berated herself, and replied happily, "I'm waiting for the guild lady to come and talking to my new friend!" She took this opportunity to try and stealthily eye up the Elf that had been talking to Nalana. She had to once again make sure her scarf was tightly wrapped round her waist. The woman was also very beautiful, and Keira silently thought to herself that if she'd known there would be so many attractive women here that she would have bought a length of silk rope to keep her unique problems at bay. "What are you both doing here?"
Damar's grin widened as he heard the human woman speak. "I am also waiting for the g... gui... the woman!" He smiled in what he hoped was a reassuring way at her, noticing her momentary discomfort, but being surrounded by so many attractive women left him rather flustered, and his smile appeared as more of a leer than he had intended.
Syleen decided that changing the topic was a good idea. “I too am waiting for the guild's recruiter.” She said. And trying not to get bored to death. She added in her mind. “I suspect most, if not all, of the people gathered here are doing the same. Unfortunately the lady is extremely late, which is highly unusual, based on what I have heard about the Guild. Hopefully there's a good reason for the delay...” The elf took a quick look at each of the other people near her. (OOC: This post is very late because I got distracted by a game. Well, not as late as our dear recruiter, but still very late.)
Keria nodded dimly, and shivered a bit at the look Damar gave her, but quickly put it from her mind. She was more eager to make new friends than be worried over nothing. "I'm Keria Slade, I hope we can be friends since we might work together and you all seem like good people!" She said happily, standing and holding out a hand to the both of them. Unfortunately, she had forgotten entirely her dilemma and a VERY noticeably bulge, (even through her loose pants and scarf,) was visible for a moment until she was at the same table as the Elf. Still oblivious she just smiled brightly and held out her hands in a genuinely warm greeting.
Sslvark blinked. It wasn't an obvious blink, just clear membranes sliding down over his eyes. Someone had asked him something, while he was lost in thought, and then that person had gone somewhere. He stood up and looked around for where they'd gone, before heading over and taking a seat at an adjacent table.
Damar, still smiling, shakes Keria's offered hand, saying to the gathered people: "Good to meet you both. I am Damar." Before leaning in towards Keria, and, glancing downward, whispering conspiratorially to her: "What are you keeping in your pants? is it a ferret?"
For a moment Syleen noticed a visible bulge in Keria's pants. What the- is she wearing a strap-on? Or is she- I think it will be best not to ask about it until I know her a bit better. Pretending not to have noticed the suspicious bulge in the human's pants the elf stood up and shook Keria's offered hand. “Nice to meet you, Keria. I am Syleen.” She introduced herself, then looked at the large man next to her: "Nice to meet you too, Damar."
Keira was beaming a radiant smile and was halfway through waving to the huge grey-green lizard man that had just sat down nearby and saying, "It is nice to meet you too! Come join--," when Damar's whispers met her ears. Slowly a fierce blush spread over all of her available skin and the monk hung her head in shame. "N-no... It isn't a f-ferret. P-please don't bring it up again Mister Damar." She struggled to whisper back in an even tone, as she pulled her scarf painfully tight around her. She might have been angry if she hadn't noticed that the Man was even less intelligent than her. So instead Keira just hugged her knees to her chest and gave a defeated sigh. She shot a glance at Syleen and was grateful that at least the elf looked like she had not seen. "I-I look forward to working with you all..."
Nalana narrowed her eyes at the barbarian's comment. Another puzzle to add, another information to store. She sat behind Keira and hugged her, possessively, while glaring at the barbarian. “You're awfully nosy wild-man... back-off, no one but me can toy with her.” And no one would interrogate Keira but Nalanda – she would know everything what is to know about the simpleton human... and then she would make her, hers.
Keira was at her wits end the moment Nalana's arms wrapped around her and she felt the witch's soft 'warmth against her back. She slowly crossed her legs beneath her, and closed her eyes. She silently pressed her hands together in her lap, and began to breathe deeply, relaxing her entire body against the half-elf's embrace. The dim and embarrassed demeanor dropped away and she began to exude a quiet grace as she focused inward. Her master had taught her to meditate when upset, and to always come to things with a smile even when you're sad. After several silent moments, she sighed and dropped back into a slack posture and a dopey grin. "Should we... ask someone where the guild lady is?" She asked happily, trying to steer the subject in a better direction.
Damar throws his hands up in an apologetic gesture, his face turning sheepish. "Sorry." he mumbles, sitting down on the floor. He then immediately stands back up after catching sight of the lizard man that had occupied him earlier nearby. He wanders over to him. "Cool Hammer!"
The conversation has just gotten interesting when the main doors were flung wide and a man liveried in the tabbard of one of the count's armsmen limped insde, dripping water on the floor. "Is any man or woman here a healer?!" He croaked, then sat heavily in the first unoccupied seat. (Would everyone please roll me a Perception check?)
