First off, I am not sure how well it'd work, but in my story I am trying to write (damn stubborn story), I want to try what I attempted in My Submissive Sister, but in a different way; use the game mode to track who is dominant, and who isn't.

What are some tips on how to utilize the game mode in this way? Such as how to show which option changes what variable, or how to track it?

Well, I guess a single, numeric variable could already do the trick if you have only two characters.
A value of 0 could be a neutral state. Positive values would mean dominance, negative values submissiveness.
The answers/actions could modify the variable. If you offer 5 options to a chapter, 2 could be dominant, 1 neutral and 2 submissive. If dominance is too low, the most dominant option could be blocked as the character wouldn't dare to choose that option
