"Here." She said as she put 5$ bill on the counter. "Where's the shooting competition?" She asked.

„Over there, there is already first group of competitors, you can join second group. Here, take this”. He give her wooden plank with number 23, and string to attach it to clothing.
„It is your number, don’t lose it. Next!” He already called next one in line.
As Kate gets to shooting range, she spots line of shooters as their aiming at small targets in range of hundred yards. It was first round, each competitor must hit at least five from eight targets to get into round two. Kate join her group and wait for her turn, and soon judge calls them to take position and aims at target.

Soon judge calls her to take position and shoot. She was given rifle with 8 bullets. Kate has to shoot at least five of eight targets to pass to the next round.

Jazmina smiled coldly as she noted how much fresher the tracks were as she went along. As the wind picked up and sent the smell of burning tobacco her way, the former aristocrat dismounted, bringing her repeater with her... Before urging Zancada ahead... What better bait for a horse thief than a high quality horse such as her loyal steed? Jazmina lowered her silhouette and rushed to the nearest brush, intent on covertly following Zancada until Robert either revealed himself or she stumbled upon his camp.

Zancada slowly leads the way, heading mostly into direction of Robert tracks, but it was hard for Jazmina to keep her horse in check, without some whispers or hand signals to horse, on which he showed up that horse is not alone here to any observer.
(Roll for sneaking d20: 16 success)
As Jazmina slowly follows her horse it becomes clear to her, that Robert won’t take a bait, he was too smart for that. But something tells Jazmina that he doesn’t know yet where she is exactly, hidden in the bushes. It becomes game hide and seek, and who will be first to spot another will win.

Kate takes the bullets and stood at the position her rifle at the ready.
She uncocked the rifle and slid the bullet in.
She aimed and shot, missing the first shot. She uncocked the rifle again, and slid another bullet - took aim, held air and fired, this time hitting the target.
She repeated the process - hitting six targets and missing two. Satisfied she walked back to her position, giving other person the stage.

Judge writes Kate numbers in the book, showing her to take position with others who passed first round. In the end, there was ten winners, rest of them have to leave and join the public.
„For round two you will be shot with revolver to the moving targets”.
Judge shows to competition shooting range where pieces of metal were attached to ropes which been moved by men on the side, to make them move left and right, making it harder to aim.
„Each one of you gets one colt and you have to hit at least four of six targets to pass to final round”.

Kate spins her gun and prepares for the signal, when it was given, she quick draws and opens fire at the targets...
She cursed as the quick fire succession hi only two targets.
With a curse and disappointment she returned the revolver before returning back to her position. Still, she continued observing the competition, looking for the person who would win.

In the last round take place only five of the competitors. This time it was put apple on the jar.
„In the last round will be inspired by Scottish hero, Wilhelm Tell how he shoot apples off his son head. Competitors may choose their favourite weapon and shoot off apple, but if they hit jar, they loses”.
Judge explains the rules and let’s competitors shoot. First two didn’t managed to hit anything as shooting range was wide and they run out of ammunition. Next one shot jar and lose. Then stepped middle age women with bottle of brandy, she drinks from it and shoot. Apple falls on the two sides
„Ha, this is how it’s done boys”. She laughed and drinks another shot. Last player managed to hit apple but also jar, so he lost too.
„It looks like we have a winner”! Judge acclaimed and public applause with screaming.

Fascinated, Kate approached the woman.
"Congratulations on your victory." She said as she extended her hand to the woman.

Kate has a problem, because she wasn't only one who wanted to speak with the winner. Crowd surrounded woman, scanding.
"Elisabeth! Elisabeth!"
Two men grabbed Elisabeth on their shoulders and carry her around. She was laughing, drinking and giving high five to people around herself.
"Thanks"! She said to Kate, giving her high five, tasting her success.

Jazmina cursed herself for bringing a white jacket and hat into a forest - it wasn't so extravagant in the sands of northern Mexico, but it was certainly not doing her any favors as she tried to hunt down a horse thief... The trouble wasn't that Zancada wasn't getting Robert's attention. She could sense that he was nearby - probably after putting out his cigarette just moments before - watching the horse meander around and wondering where its rider was. Thus, Jazmina knew she had to try something different to get the drop on Robert...
"This better work..." Jazmina inwardly groused to herself, before removing her gun belt and repeater, hiding her weapons in the brush... Except for her knife, the weapon slid into her trouser belt and hidden from view by her riding jacket. Suitably "disarmed," the Mexican aristocrat played the part of the bumbling rider, going to retrieve her "lost" mount. With luck, Robert would take the bait, try to rob her of Zancada... And either fall afoul of her blade or the horse himself.

As Jazmina decides to take a big risk and putting it all on one single throw of knife, there was a shoot from somewhere on the ground between Jazmina legs.
„I suggest to you to turn around and leave or you will be full of holes! Pull your pants down, to not start running! Hands up! Go in different directions from where you came”! It comes shot from the bushes, as Zancada give voice of nervous and angry.
(Roll for perception +2 Hunter d20: 1+2=3 critical failure https://www.rolldicewithfriends.com/rooms/highstakesatcoyotebluffwi )
Despite coming shoot and voice from Robert’s, Jazmina has completely no idea where he could be hiding right now. She could swear that shot comes from one direction and voice comes from opposite direction. Jazmina realised that Robert could easily shoot her now and don’t know from where it could come attack.

Kate smiled as she looked behind the woman as she was carried away.
She decided against taking part in any other competitions, instead she just walked around enjoying the festival.

As she walked around the festival Kate spotted above the crowd long rope. In top of that stands tightrope walker, with long stick he walks in both directions, as crowds enjoy the show.
Kate watches rodeo, seeing not only taming wild horses but also acrobatic skills like jumping on the horse or jumping over fences. Riders perform their best, taking risky movements to make the best impression.
(Perception roll 12 vs D20: 6+ 2 awareness = failure)
As Kate was paying attention to the skills of competitors, she missed stranger hand in her pocket. Before she realised what happened, thief managed to run away (cash 23-5=18 $). In such crowd it would be almost impossible to find him.

Kate had fun walking around festival. To late she realised that someone stole her cash. She scowled, angrily.
Oh, she would need to earn some cash... With a sigh, she decided to go to police station and check the bounty board.

Kate walk slowly, as crowd was realy big and noisy, someone put hand on her butt, but when she turn around guilty men hide in the mass.
Finally Kate managed to reach the city, where it was calmer and quiet, total oposite to festival.
As Kate reached sheriff office, she noticed on front wall board with bounty. It looks like someone take already one bounty and only two was left.
Right now there was bounty for:
- Harold Vallette, robbed carriage with his two brothers, by wounding passangers and beating up ridder. 50$
- Sarah O'Hara, leader of gang of five men, she robbed train and killed two men inside. They also attempted to rob a bank, but failed, killed one worker. 100$

For a moment Kate considered taking lower bounty, but then decided she would go after O'Hara. She took the poster and to the sherif.
"Hey there, do you know where I could find this one?" She asked.

Old sheriff give Kate judge eyes and rise eyebrow on bounty.
„Are you kidding? Do you really want to hunt down this gang alone?” He pulled out pocket his pipe and filled it with tabaco.
„Well it’s your funeral… or not, since probably nobody would buried you. Here, look”.
He takes map from drawer and show to Kate three points, on the south-west from city.
„Here they robbed Jew merchants and shaved him bald, robbing him of beard. There they killed two cows of farmers. And there they been seen riding across the river by mushrooms pickers”.
He gives her a look.
„Better for you to not risk and withdraw from this… or find someone to help you in hunting them. There should be some people in town with ill will to these bandits. It is always better to split reward alive, than be killed and get none”.
