I've got one, but you won't like it, I'm gonna warn you of that in advance.

Make me an editor and watch what happens, then be ready to yank me off the story when I'm done with the existing chapters...
Well, you're wrong. I would like that. I'd like it even more if someone couldn't immediately reset it, but I'd like that. Too bad my power is restricted to the forums.
However, I would vastly prefer something more practical, long term, and less unilateral.
First chapter should be min 250 words.
Multiverse stories already contradict this, or would if not for the "should" being used to establish that this is merely a guideline and not a hard rule. Objection overruled.
The chapter should establish the plot, setting, and main characters
Contradicted by multiverse stories once again, but not really due to "should" once again. Overruled.
and should end with a compelling 'hook'.
Contradicted everywhere. I cannot begin to tell you how many people end with a simple "What next?" following the end of an arc of all things (meaning no foreshadow of any kind), though allowed for a third time by the "should" distinction. Overruled
While this is the minimum... It doesn't establish the minimum and should therefore be rejected.
Except the minimum is not a hard figure. We're supposed to use discretion. However, since at least one of the story moderators tends to rubber stamp things and not actually take the time to read them, discretion is not a thing. In fact, depending on the day, rules aren't even a thing. I've told this story before, about the CHYOO era story of pure bestiality being approved despite violating the hard rules that aren't so discretionary. We're an open site that allows anything that won't come at the price of the site, so we get shitposts. It happens. We can either suck it up, find a solution, or complain over and over about how our arbitrary rules are arbitrary.
This rule is not set in stone, but try to write very short chapters only when really necessary. Was this 12 word introduction really necessary?
After conducting further searches of the author's work and learning that the point of the story actually is to point out how lax we are due to at least one apathetic story moderator and no overarching editorial rules and authority, yeah, it was.
This person's making the exact same point you are: we have no authority over non-underage, non-bestiality, and non-gorefest stories because there's no quality assurance set in place and at least one moderator who wouldn't care even if we did. We've batted the editorial ring idea around every now and again, but we've found little luck implementing it due to having no agreement on how it would work or, for the few we agreed would work, no way to actually start it. If you think there's a way to make it work and immediately start, we're listening. Until then, recognize the meaning of the word "should" means everything is discretionary and hold to the value of negative comments to dissuade and discourage.
