Hi, everyone! So, I had this little idea swimming in my head for a few days and decided to share with you guys here in order to see if anyone is interested on this concept. We have a lot of great games going on, with either a medieval/fantasy setting or a futuristic setting, so I thought "Why not have a game on a modern setting?" I thought about a couple of scenarios for the game, nothing too much elaborated yet, but if someone gets interested, we can flesh out the idea here: 1. The classic story about a murder happening during a family reunion and a detective coming in to investigate. 2. A group of characters travel to a small town and stumble into a mystery (it can be any kind of mystery). So, is anyone interested?
I'm good for both, but more a fan of number 1! It would be a little more interesting if after the group detective gets there, something happens to basically trap everyone in with the murderer. Like maybe they were all at a ski resort or a bad storm has the roads flooded? That adds to the mystery and suspense in my opinion based on shows I've seen that had similar themes. (Murder She Wrote had a great episode trapped at a ski lodge....)
I was more interested on the first option as well. I'm thinking maybe a regular resort, like a hotel, and, as you suggested, the only road is blocked due to bad weather. Another aspect I thought about is the detective being there for the family reunion, giving him/her ties to the suspects. And this character would have been a rookie detective, definitely not someone the police department would have sent, but since he/she is already there and no one can't get in, the case would fall in his/her hands. Maybe it can be done as a choice RPG, like moonblack's one. Unless everyone wants to play a different character.
Ok, good to see that there's another player interested. Alright, tell you guys what, I'm a bit swamped with the rewrite of my story on the site, so let's wait some more time if you guys don't mind? That way we can see if there's anyone else is interested; I think that it'd be more fun with three or more players.
