Lesser known authors and stories, or work in genres you normally avoid

On a whim, I tried a new story called "Maisie's Big Day." It's only got a few chapters so far but it's well written. The author is new as well.

This sentence made me laugh out loud:
"Game of Thrones had gone down in flames, but at least it had given her a hell of a figure."
