We're heading into the final stretch, by which I mean there are currently only 106 ending chapters to be written to cap off all existing branches. Now, that doesn't mean there won't be more chapters to write; if someone does an archive binge and leaves a bunch of likes that could trigger a bunch more chapters to be written. But LLNO has seriously slowed down on likes recently, and is slipping the ratings pretty fast, so as it stands, we're pretty close to complete.
I know folks aren't thrilled by a lot of these endings - it is difficult, narratively, to craft one or two really good endings, much less a thousand - but once these are sorted out, I can get started on the next story!
Oof. It happened. Slipped down into the #10 position on the top rated. Won't be long before LLNO drops off once and for all. ...still, it's been a good run.
Sorry for the slow updates, you loyal few. Real life has been busy lately, and I'll be traveling next week, but I'll try to get a few chapters out.
So, barring a sudden influx of likes, by my count there's about 46 ending chapters left to be written...and then the story will be "complete." Or at least, there will be an ending on each branch.
I can see the mistakes I've made in the story. And it's dragged on a lot longer than anyone thought it would. I just hate to leave it unfinished.
Sorry for missing an update or two, small technical hiccup (some bastard cut the cable that brings internet).
No rush as we get near the end. But for what it's worth, here are the least popular of the chapters - the ones with ZERO likes so far. With 7,000+ chapters, they can't all be winners. 7: No--Only Until You Are Strong Enough To Make Us Stop 8: A Collapsing Chair 10: End: Lois Lane Can Do Nothing, Lois Decides To Go Back Upstairs 11: Walk The Walk, End: Wait, Before We Do This, I have To Tell You... 12: End: Lois Lane Has Grabbed Lex Luthor, She Tries And Fails, End: There Are No More Words, End: Rescue Lois Lane...What's Left Of Her, First, He Takes Care of the Preliminaries, Awkward Silence 13: End: Blaze Demands Superman's Sperm, End: They Are Caught, But There Is Still A Hershey Highway To Victory For Lois Lane, End: It Hurts So Good, Have A Drink, Double Vaginal, Confront The Scarecrow 14: End: Superman Mounts Lois Lane, Chained Atop A Nuclear Weapon, Jump, Let The Other Lois Get Creampied 15: End: Superman Needs To Let Lois Lane Suck His Cock, End: Superman Flies Up The Missle's Tailpipe, Something Goes Horribly Wrong, Appear To Acquiesce, Lois Lane Gets Away, End: One Heavenly Faacefucking, Call For Help 17: Shazam Reassures His New Champion With His Cock. End: Mario & Luigi Clean Lois Lane's Pipes 18: End: Lois Needs To Fly, End: Lois Lane Go Gets Her Some Supercock 19: End: An Incredible Journey, Lois Is SafeāThe Black Cock Stuffed In Her Face Belongs To Val-Zod!, End: About Half of Metropolis 20: End: Lois Tells Blaze To Go To Hell
22 chapters to be written, for anyone counting the days. Thanks for the folks who have been following and liking for the long haul. I might take a little break after LLNO is finished up, but there are two stories I want to launch this year: a LLNO-esque fanfic story starring Sue Storm of the Fantastic Four, and an original fantasy game mode story that hews closer the classic Lone Wolf and Fighting Fantasy game books. The intention for both is to be a little more realistic and less porn-y (although there will still be explicit sex). I've got a 400-chapter outline for the game mode story, and a first chapter written for the fanfic. So might run them concurrently, switch back and forth. Dunno. We'll see how it goes.
Total chapters: 7,337 That's it! All branches are complete. Not planning on writing any more chapters. It may have ended on a whimper, but it had a good run. There were some solid chapters and popular branches; and some silliness and a few mean bits I'm not proud of. While there weren't a lot of back-and-forth with other writers, I like to think I tried to follow what they wrote when they did contribute. Overall, a bit of a good learning experience. The concept of the story changed a bit as it got bigger and bigger - I had initially hoped for it to be more tightly plotted, more consistent, but that wasn't possible as the branches got weirder. There was quite an emphasis on transformation, futanari, and impregnation; that was the result of certain decisions made in early chapters that had to be continued through in later ones. Overall, I have to say I enjoyed the epilogue chapters best, since they gave me more room to go beyond the one night out and look at lasting effects and changes in Lois Lane's life and character. You can see that's where I tend to get my most romantic, but also the most consistent in terms of characterization. It's been fun. Thanks for reading.
The biggest problem with DOOMED so far is sometimes I get lost and write Lois Lane instead of Sue Storm. I've got to try and branch out in how I wrote characters.
