Really Really Experienced
Dahlia and Michael
Michael nodded in understanding as she explained. He knew of Felix Brown, but hadn't really spoken to the man at any great lengths. Some said the good doctor was a broken man. Others said he was a genius. Then some said he was nothing but trouble. Michael didn't like leaving Dahlia in his hands, but he didn't have much of a choice. He knew how the rest of her day would go and most of tomorrow as well. Michael had to accept it for now. That didn't make it hurt any less that he had to be away from her or that she would be in the arms of someone else.
"Alright darling, but please don't wear yourself out. Tomorrow night, I'm going to show you the time of your life."
Michael kissed her goodbye, making it as passionate as he could before he had to leave. Once he was well away from her apartment and letting himself calm down a bit, he pulled out his personal tablet. He tapped through to the contact he needed and finally found who he was searching for. The woman didn't answer on the first few rings, but when she did, her face came into view on the tablet. She looked like she hadn't slept for several days and when she spoke, sounded a little slurred.
"Wha'ya want Mickey? I'm bussssy."
"You've been drinking again Cindy? Dammit, I need you sober right now."
"Whaz the problem? I'm always drinking now. Have been since those bastards stopped the project. You know that."
"Cindy, listen to me, you were right! Those anomalies are capable of evolution!"
Cindy seemed to change immediately. Her eyes brightened a bit and her speech pattern became less slurred. Life seemed to get breathed into her.
"What are you saying Michael? That the AH can really evolve? Become human?"
"Yes! I've just left Dahlia and-"
"Wait you were with Dahlia? P042? Dammit Michael, what the hell?"
"Cindy listen-"
"You know who she was modeled after right?"
"I know, but that isn't the point! I need to meet you. Now."
(Hvast, feel free to join Dahlia now.)
