Great, glad to hear it. I'm about to head for bed since I have work early in the morning, but I will be on ASAP to see who has asked for which characters. If I end up with more than six players, I will work to make more, but these were the big ones that I wanted in the game.

Hoping this works out to be fun. I'm open to GMing other games if this works out, though I wouldn't mind trying to play one as well, so I wouldn't mind if another game gets started by someone else as well. Like I said, I think GMs should only do one game at a time as mod to keep from getting things mixed up, but that is just a suggestion.

Ok, I need at least one more player to really get the game rolling. I currently have two for certain, so one or more players would be great! Thank you in advance for giving me the chance to run this guys. I'm really excited to try this out.

I'd be open to fill a spot and play with you guys, but I've never played a forum game like this, so I guess I'd need some coaching before starting. o_O

That would be great! Please take a look at the game thread and choose a character. PM me when you do and I will approve it. If you have any questions, I can answer them for you.

I haven't played a game like this before or GMed one for that matter. I'm looking forward to trying this out.

    Double post again...

Ok guys, the game is ready. If any other players want to join in, there are still slots open and more can be added if needed. For the players ready so far, make a post giving details of your character (Height, weight, looks, etc.) and what they are doing as the story opens. I'll post the next part for each player in a separate post for to keep from confusing anyone. I'll make sure the character(s) involved are named at the top of my post as added insurance against that. Don't be discouraged if I have multiple posts in a row, this will be to keep each player's activities separate unless they are acting together or near each other.

Got it, Fallen Saint. How's it look?

Edit: By the way, I almost nearly made her a product of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation, for those who get the Hitchhiker's Guide reference, but since this is a colony ship containing the last vestiges of humanity, I figured there weren't many corporations anymore in this setting, lol.

Posted mine as well. I wanted to play around with the character's voice before we started.

A question, the pleasure floor serves only for people looking for sexual pleasure or it's more like a place of entertainment (dancing, pubs, etc)?

I have to say it's being a lot of fun playing this game, and reading the others' paths as well, FallenSaint is doing an awesome job as GM. I admit I was split between choosing Alicia or the Captain to play, but now I'm glad I chose her, lots of room for character development.

Sorry it took so long to respond here, I never got the notifications that there were more posts here.

Yarkoz, there are technically corporations, but they are divided between the five ships. I've only given the name of this one, Exodus, but the others would be HOPE, MAYFLOWER, IMPERIUS, and ARCHITECT. Each ship was made by several corporations working together so the "Royals" would basically be the descendants of the corporate heads and big money donors. The corporations have mostly broken down as humanity scrambles to find a way to survive, but on IMPERIUS and HOPE, the corporate system is still very much intact and the Captain is instead the CEO.

Patzo, I really liked how you started off. Your character's first post really gives him a "Gritty street cop" feel and I can picture him in my mind quite easily. Hope Hornsby wasn't too frustrating, but he is a politician :p. I half expected you to double back to find the wife again, but where you went is quite interesting as well. I wonder how you will work your character at the Academy the next day?

Duskford the pleasure floors are for everything that involves moral. While food can be found on most floors, specialty restaurants exist on 10 and 20 that can't be found elsewhere. Also this is where the dance clubs, arcades, gambling halls, and of course prostitutes can be found. Please note that "Pleasure Worker" for AH can be any AH working on those floors, but the term has come to be more used for the prostitutes than the other workers. Also, the tenth floor is more family friendly than the twentieth. Floor ten has more attractions for children under eighteen and the prostitutes there are all human and poor. Most of the prostitutes on 20 are AH and the floor has much more to offer adults.

I'm really enjoying each of your play styles and I'm glad I decided to give this a try. Thank you for the compliment Duskford because I was honestly really nervous about trying this. I've never done a game like this before and I'm really having to be creative with it. Each of you play differently and since this game is more for fun than anything I'm trying to be loose with how strict things are in the game. Such as how you play Duskford. you take control of the NPCs to an extent that the others don't. It makes anticipating your actions a little more difficult so I try to be more suggestive with the actions than right on so that you can act accordingly.

Yarkoz has really been descriptive with Dahlia and brought her to life much better than I had hoped for her. It has made her character even more interesting that I had first expected of her and I'm really looking forward to how that plays out in the situations to come.

Patzo is doing a great job with his character as well. I didn't expect him to go straight to the club that Alicia was in, but I'm finding ways to try and make it work so that the story can unfold in interesting ways. If he had gotten to Alicia that quickly, it could have possibly derailed some of the events he has already set in motion, so working the story and game play is complicated but fun.

You guys have made this really fun so far and I'm feeling like this project is successful. This has been challenging in a fun way and I often find myself at work trying to think out the next couple moves for each character so that I have an idea of what to do next. We are weaving quite the interesting story together so far. If we can keep this going, maybe we can convince Friedman to give us a section specifically for PBP games. It has been great to experience this with you guys and I thank you for your trust in me as a GM.

About that, I was really unsure if I was allowed to do that, such as the scene with Terry dragging Alicia to the hallway. Even if I write it in Alicia's PoV, am I allowed to use the NPCs that way or I should wait for the GM to have them execute actions such as moving from one place to another?

Like I've said before, I've never played a forum RPG before this one, so I'm still adjusting to the rules. :)

Thanks, FallenSaint! I didn't plan on going all hardboiled with Cain, but now we're playing and my influences are showing! Hornsby was a fun challenge and a great chance to nail down Cain: he's always scheming behind his smile or his badge, a very specific brand of corrupt cop who thinks the community needs protecting rather than the law. I haven't forgotten about Hornsby's wife either, but at the time Hornsby's counteroffer surprised me. What drew me to Cain is that clear, simple goal to tear down his boss, and in dealing with Hornsby, I didn't want to ignore a potential ally. The survey was an off-the-cuff excuse to spend a few days poking around the Academy, look for someone knows Lana, and get something to blackmail her with. Doesn't mean I can't pass by Hornsby's home after the Academy. :D

As for Alicia, that's another situation where Get Yuki has been my guiding instinct. Meeting them at the club was "dramatic convenience," let's say, but now that I know what she looks like, my plan is to look for her while I'm at the Academy. I was planning to introduce myself here, that's all, but it seems she's already on her way out!

You've been doing a great job so far, FallenSaint. It's cool to see how differently each story plays out. Let me know if I'm getting too over-the-top with the dialogue/monologue. In my mind he sounds drawling and borderline-inappropriately casual much of the time, but I'll reel it in if it just gets annoying to read.

Duskford in the RPGs I've played, the NPCs were all under the control the the GM completely and couldn't be controlled by players. But at the same time, that was a Final Fantasy spin-off game where we had really in depth rules and often found ourselves in combat situations. This game is more for fun and not as serious, so I don't mind you occasionally taking control of an NPC for a scene like what we have now. As long as you are not having one go off and rob a bank for you or something huge, it isn't a problem. Feel free to continue as you have been. This is also my first sexual RPG so I'm trying see what works and what doesn't, but I haven't seen anything to complain about this has all been really great.

Patzo, lol trust me I understood where you were going with it and that you might still end up with his wife at some point. Had Hornsby not been a politician I wouldn't have made you dance so much, but Hornsby is always scheming as well. Like how he took you in the opposite direction of the Vertigo club.... Wonder what is in the other direction because he kept going after parting with you....

I was actually glad that you only got to see her in passing so far. Had you guys started a deep conversation that early on it could have derailed some of what was planned. Either way, you would have had to meet with Yuki and still go to the Academy thanks to what you have set up, but now you can still have a real purpose there. I still like how you are playing that scene though and I'm working to give you some chances for fun scenes as well.

No need to change anything I assure you. Each character is different in ways that set them apart from the others and that makes the story more interesting and fun. Like I said, this is definitely a bit of a challenge but it is one I am thoroughly enjoying. As a writer, story has always been one of my big interests even with erotic stories. Jumping straight into sex scenes sometimes kills the story for me. I'm trying to craft the game so that while sex does happen (Hopefully often) the story and building of the characters doesn't get left out.

So they're a bit like a corporatocracy, big business seized power in he vacuum created by humanity's own bickering and the Vrok'Tus virus, and in a way that transitioned into a very class-oriented society. On IMPERIUS and HOPE (interesting names to give them too considering the societies on board), that's all the more transparent and honest. (Why am I imagining WALL-E? lol) There are small businesses I see, the clubs and restaurants and so on, but nothing challenges that "Royals," and I'd imagine it's those overarching corporate entities that control the AH's.

I'd like to thank Melfina from Outlaw Star, Data from Star Trek, and Holly from Red Dwarf for inspirations, lol. I have played AI characters before in RPGs, and I've always had fun with them, from those discovering a sense of existence beyond their programming like Dahlia to more cantankerous and (truly) misanthropic AI characters who are unwittingly along for the ride (a stock character I often played, something like Orac from Blake's 7).

Thing is, the survey is a great way I think to tie in Dahlia's storyline to the others. If the survey is meant to disprove the idea that those who seek Pleasure Workers aren't well-adjusted, how would they react to someone like Michael who, apparently, specifically seeks out a Pleasure Worker's attention? And as soon as they discover that Dahlia is "faulty" and that other AH's seem to have that "fault," I can see the political machine trying to twist this is ways to manufacture the result Hornsby wants while suppressing people like Michael and Dahlia. That could potentially be easy if there's people like Alicia who already certain opinions of Pleasure Worker AH's in a rather sexually-corrupt Academy in the first place!

And I really love everyone's take on the character's too! Patzo's hardened street cop reminds me of Detective Doyle in The French Connection only more corrupt, and I can see that Alicia has a lot of sexual frustration! This is great, Fallen Saint, thanks for this :)

WALL-E lol. I honestly thought of putting that corporation into the story, but wasn't sure anyone would get the nod.

Melfina is definitely a good example to use for Dahlia. I could easily see her as one of the AH on the ship. Hmmm, might need to do a cameo for her now that you mention it. But like I said, you have been doing a great job with Dahlia and I'm really enjoying the current scene.

I had figured the survey would end up bringing in the idea of how students visit the pleasure workers from time to time. Might even find a few teachers doing it as well. But I think Hornsby would probably use Dahlia's fault as an excuse to continue visiting pleasure workers. He will claim they are not just robots to use as ways to rid oneself of frustration, but as the next evolution of humanity. A mixture of human and technology and that could lead to people getting cybernetics. There will of course be people against those ideas, but it will be interesting to see how it plays out. I might have to resort to dice rolls so that character reactions to it are more randomized than just me throwing opinions out there.

I'm glad I can bring this story to life with your help. This has really been a fun ride so far and I'm ready to keep it rolling! Thanks again for giving me your support and letting me be the GM. I hope I can keep doing good with this story for everyone.

Thanks, Yarkoz! I've been trying to play Alicia as someone who loves sex, but she only allows herself to enjoy it with people she trusts, creating some of that sexual frustration you mentioned, since trustworthy people aren't always available.

As for entwining the stories, Alicia has a close relationship to people Dahlia and Cain know. She's the best friend of Cain's boss and her late dad's best friend, Doctor Felix Brown, has a known history of using Dahlia's services.

I tried to make sure that the characters were all connected in some what so that they could all tie in together through various means. I'd really like to see how Alicia reacts to Michael and Dahlia. Will she see the AH as possibly evolving like Michael does or will she think it is just a broken machine?

I think she'd see it as mix between the two. As a teacher, she'd probably get curious as to why a machine is working differently from the others of the same kind.

One thing to keep in mind though is that the same "Fault" exists in all AH and could possible happen with other AH. She is the first and possibly could spark others to evolve as well.

  20. Duskford

That'd be more for Yarkoz to think, since he's playing Dahlia, but now I'm seeing her as the future leader of a faction of "faulty" AHs.
