I have a problem, the site seems to be censored on my account, words like "forced", "slave", "drugs", etc. are being replaced with **** and some stories altogether give an error when I want to view them for example Contractually obligated. The problem seems tied to my account but I can't find any settings for this. I tried making a new account, everything appears normal on that one so I'm sure it's something about the account, but I don't want to change to using the new account cause I have all my favorites with this one.
Are you accessing the site through a smart phone? I have noticed the same problem but only when I'm looking at the site on my smart phone. On my desktop, everything is normal.
No, I use firefox on win 10, but I tested it in brave too and it's the same. But as mentioned, with a different account in same browser it works normal. That's why I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the account. My guess is that there's some flag that can be given to accounts to censor the more controversial stuff and somehow this got activated on my account. edit: Tested on smart phone(with Brave browser), same result, this account censored, the new one isn't.
@Friedman , there might be something with the CHYOA mail. Tried doing an e-mail confirmation for a new account based on a post in Discord and never got the e-mail. User was reporting the same thing.
Could you let me know what username you used for the new account? I’ll check into it and see what’s going on with the confirmation emails.
Thanks for the reply. However, looking into this a little deeper, my mail server apparently decided to stop processing rules correctly and sent all of these messages to a default mailbox; gotta love it.
Is there a known issue with deleting chapters that we added to someone else's story? I removed all of my chapters from a couple of such stories, and they don't show up anymore, but they've been sitting in my 'recently deleted' folder with an icon of <1 day remaining for a couple of days now. I suppose it's not a big deal since no one but me can see them, but I've been expecting them to vanish for a while. Does the story owner have to do something to make the deletion official?
There has been an issue like that a few years ago but that should be fixed. Are the chapters still in the list?
Thanks for responding. They gradually vanished over the course of the following week, a dozen or so at a time. I don't know if it was just because I clogged the drain with a couple hundred chapters or if it was a silent response to the bug report/inquiry, but everything seems to be resolved now. Thanks again!
I don’t know what to do!!! I’m currently logged-into the site, & it gives me a pop-up saying that I have a new message. However, when I click on “Messages” (with the 1 next to it), it tells me, “No messages selected “, & I don’t know how to change that!
Try selecting the conversation from the sidebar on the right. If you’re on mobile, tap the three red bars at the top right of the screen to open the sidebar, then choose the conversation there. That should let you see your new message.
Hello! I noticed that notifications are not updating anymore, despite the fact that new chapters have been published in the meantime. My last one is dated two days ago. I don't see both the red number in the upper right corner of the page, new entries in the notifications dropdown, and new entries in the notifications page. I tried to understand if the problem was on my computer, but I think I can exclude it. I logged out and back in, used different browsers and devices, even incognito mode, and I see no difference. I'm surprised that nobody else reported this problem. Am I the only one experiencing it? Thanks in advance for the help!
I have an update on my bug report, hopefully it will help narrowing down to the problem. Yesterday I received a notification for a story I'm following, Kink Development Kit. I thought that the problem had already been solved. Then this morning I noticed that another story I'm following, Harem Hotel, had a new chapter, but I received no notification for this. Of the few stories I'm following, HH is the only one that updates at least daily, so it's easy to notice that something is not working. Every other one updates every few days or less frequently. If I have to guess blindly, I would say that this has to do with the size of the story. I ran a quick JS count of the chapters ($('.story-map-chapter').length) and got 2871 for HH vs 686 for KDK. Maybe after a certain size the notification system doesn't work anymore? Hope this helps.
Thank you for the detailed bug report and the extra information—it’s really helpful! Your observation about the story size is interesting and could very well be the culprit. Given that "Harem Hotel" has a significantly higher chapter count than "Kink Development Kit," it's possible that the notification system struggles when handling stories with such a large number of chapters. I’ll look into this issue further and see if the chapter count is indeed affecting notifications. In the meantime, if you notice any other discrepancies or have additional insights, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thanks again for your help!
