"Serviced? I mean, yeah, you're welcome. I'm happy to have someone like you here with me." She finishes her own meal. "Now, let's get going!"
Melinda drives, perhaps a little too fast in her enthused state, back to the coastal ruins. "Alright, let's check our gear." Once Melinda is satisfied, she leads the way. "This used to be a country estate, with a little cove for ships to dock in at the bottom of the cliff." She explains, as they head inside. "If Queen Anai truly used this place to escape the fall of her city, there might be some record of where she fled to."
Illuminated by flashlight, Miriam begins to see the ruins in their proper glory. Once, she can tell, this had been a beautiful estate, with mosaic floors bearing art, and heated from beneath by a complex system. Finally, they arrive at a ruined staircase leading upwards. "Hmm," Melinda posits, "upstairs would be where the master's office would likely have been. If there are any surviving documents, I'd bet they're in there." She pulls out a rope, throwing it up to wrap around a rafter at the top of the broken staircase. "Do you want to do the honors, or should I?" She gestures to the rope.
