Natasha nod to him and point where they could defend themselves.
Astonishment, awe and disbelief were the first emotions to flow through Kelly at her situation. "This is... impossible!" she thought to herself. "It must be some kind of hallucination!" But the feeling of the sheets beneath her, the warm breeze against her skin, and the way her flimsy attire titillated her breasts and nipples was so real it had her doubting the hallucination idea. She pinched herself and the sharp sting told her this was no dream. Kelly believed in God and accepted the Holy Bible as truth, and some of the things it asserted were... difficult to believe, but what had just happened was beyond even that.
"Ah, quite brave, aren't you? I only hope you'll be able to perform....that is, you seem quite a bit more comfortable with guns than I'm used to using myself. Never really needed to. I'm not entirely certain what kind of competition to be expecting or what their background is. The client is trying my patience, I admit. You're in a position of quite some influence with your syndicate. I'm sue you understand the "need to know" basis is a myth. It's much better to explain to those doing the footwork exactly what they are supposed to be doing and provide them with information. It gives me the impression, the client is most likely not somebody who actually is used to the military, high crime, or even the law. All of them would understand the importance of actually having your people know exactly what the plan is so they can do that." Katherine placed a finger on her lip, looking upward thoughtfully.
There's silence for a few minutes, before an old man in a guardian robe slowly stumbles his way down the cliffside.
Natasha sigh with small relief. They send one men to talk, so they don't want to fight... Yet. She smile to him, hoping for peaceful solution.
Seeing her rise, the general's hard gaze become affixed on Kelly. "Here. Now." He orders her in a tone that invites no questions, before looking to the new soldier. "Are the disposition of her forces unchanged? I've waited a long time to take my revenge on Anai. Now that she's killed my newest daughter, she will feel my wrath." As his hand pulls her to him, Kelly realises who the general is, recognising him from Max's notes: Gaius Pesca, the man who conquered Anai's lands and enslaved her people.
"Plenty." She nods and shakes his hand. "Never to where we're going, though. It's a new section of Karnak that's only just been uncovered. Kaneda-san said you'd be able to get us through the government guards?" She lowers her voice. "To be honest, I've never broken the law like this for a dig, but if I'm right, the pay off could be incredible."
"Guns are mostly my sister's area of expertise - becoming a gangster was her idea - but if necessary I can use them." Vladimir unholsters a handgun to show her, before tucking it back in his jacket.
"I-" Kelly froze, partially uncertain how to answer and partially from how dangerous she expected him to be. Even if this was a hallucination or vision she could still feel. As evidenced by the growing wetness between her legs. "Yes... dominus." She admitted. "I've heard of it, but never seen it. I'm curious about the City of Set."
"The Greek's permission means nothing to us. We say who can come and go here, not him." The old man looks at her. "There's danger where you're headed, girl, more than you could ever imagine. Are you sure that's the path you wish to tread?"
"Brave for a pleasure girl." Pesca chuckles, as his thick fingers travel southwards on her body. "The City has a reputation, you know... People don't tend to come back. The last stranger who came to me asking about the city, a scholar of some sort, disappeared as if he never existed in the first place. You sure you want to indulge your curiosity?" He kisses her neck.
After so many sacrifices and efforts to get here, Natasha just can't give up right now. She grab harder her spear.
"I'll follow your lead when it comes to those guys." Eloise chuckles. "Flatterer... I'm not that young. I've been doing this for more than a decade."
As the general discussed the stranger, Kelly's thoughts turned to her husband even as the man took liberties with her body. "It couldn't be!... Max?" she wondered as the general kissed her neck.
"The City... They call it the lost city, but that's not quite right. It wasn't lost, it was hidden, thousands of years ago..." The old man stares at her, his smile gone and his expression serious. "There, the servants of the gods trapped an army of demonic spirits, and the sorcerer who summoned them, an army powerful enough to bring devastation to this land. The demons may be trapped away, though, but their influence remains. The city is a place of evil."
"Hmmm, that man was a strange one... He was dressed like an average scholar, but something about him seemed...off. And he wouldn't shut up, talking about bizarre things like inter-nets and Gee-pee-ess." Pesca shrugs, and Kelly can actively imagine her husband in this room, his fascination at being confronted with living historical figures setting off his tendency to be a bit of a chatterbox. "But like I said, he's gone, to where, I have no idea." He shrugs away her garments. "If you're willing to risk his fate, I can bring you with me, as my personal bed slave."
