When he opens his eyes, he's not in the tomb anymore.
Nile River, ????
The first thing Mori feels is the harsh Egyptian sun on his body, the next is the golden throne he's sitting on. Looking around, he sees that he's on some sort of pleasure barge, cruising down what must be the Nile, behind him a palace that he instinctively knows is
his. Ahead of him are the larger ships of his navy, screening for threats, and behind him he sees hundreds of smaller boats carrying noblemen and women of his court. Looking along either bank of the river, Mori sees hundreds and hundreds of people, cheering at the sight of him. "Great pharaoh!" Looking in front of him, a man stands, bowing deeply.
"I bring news from the West. Our scouts have located the old city." Heshem, Mori's bodyguard/adviser states. The man points over the water, to the right bank, and as he does, Mori sees in the water that his reflection is not his own.
Instead of the fat, bloated body he's used to, Mori sees and feels youthful once more, with a body that is small and diminuitive - a man grown, but one boyish enough in appearance to sometimes fool people.
Disoriented, Mori is assaulted by memories that don't belong to him. Suddenly, he isn't a smuggler from Kabukicho, but the son of pharaoh Akram II, lord of Upper and Lower Egypt. After his father's death, Akram III has now inherited his position, going on a Nile cruise to introduce himself to his loving people. Though his boyish appearance have made some think that Akram is unworthy of the throne, those people have been silenced by his mother and generals, and now Akram appears on the verge of discovering the City of Set. "My sweet, sweet boy." Mori/Akram hears his mother's voice, sweet as honey, in his ear, and turns to face her.
Though naked, a show of humility in the face of her husband's death, Atema, the queen mother of Egypt is an incredibly powerful woman still. Luckily, she loves her son. "About to find the city after so long. Your father would be so proud." She strokes his cheek. "Have you given any thought to this woman Anai? The sorceress is from another time. She claims to be able to aid you."
"What the fuck?" From behind him, Mori/Akram hears Eloise speak in pure confusion. Turning, he sees her, curves pronounced by a flimsy Egyptian robe, with the jewellery of a slave. "Shut up, girl! How dare you speak out of turn!" Atema chastises the woman, though not too cruelly.
(Sorry if that was a clusterfuck. Did my best to make the time travel thing not be too incoherent.)
