Can you edit threads? I think the upgrade is still in progress (US/Tuesday morning), and we're looking at the read-only view of the existing site.
Can I assume that the story view counts might be off? I was doing my first of the month accounting on my stories, and I noticed one story went down by 120,000 views.
Speaking of which: as of 8:34 EST Tuesday, still seems it is not done: I thought this would take an hour or five at most? (At least judging by the site still having it's old look...) EDIT: 20:41: just checked and posting still disabled, so yep, very much still in progress.
When it was supposed to updated Friedman said it could take up to midweek (from Sunday) so I expected up to three days from the start.
Okay, it started Monday Evening CET and by Tuesday 4pm CET it was already at 49% of the last and biggest data chunk, so I'll just assume that we're close to release?
As of 22:44 WEDNESDAY EST writing is still disabled: how much longer Friedman? EDIT: Sorry if that sounded harsh, I am just champing at the bit to give the new features a try!
Simon, Simon, Simon...such impatience! Ok, I'm excited too. Not even trying to hide that. I can't wait to mess with the new features and stuff. Besides, remember this has taken far less time than getting a functional CHYOO in the first place!
To be honest, I'd have never expected for it to take so long. A lot of scripts behind the scenes I guess
The reason for this is a profound denormalization of the database. While CHYOA 1 had 14 tables, CHYOA 2 has 41. The goal is improved performance with regard to the processing of stories with many chapters. Nevertheless, the script is almost done. CHYOA 2 will be up in 2 hours!
New Site Is Now Live! Please note that there are still a few things (icons, etc.) that are loading up, so please hold the bug reports for a couple hours until the last housekeeping is done. Friedman will let you know once he is done with setup. Please remember to thank him before you start complaining
wow, the stories UI and options are so much better. There is even my most requested "mark all as read" in the sory map.
