I mean other than real life time just being difficult? Honestly? I guess the format just doesn’t do much for stimulation on a player basis even if it’s mechanically sound...I don’t know how to put it. Not far enough in it to say for sure and I still want to give it time before I decide if it fits my personal preferences. I guess, currently, there’s just...not really anything for my character to do? I guess that’s the best way to phrase it.
I see. This format is experimental and differs from standard RPG. It is more like a quest with more interactivity. Guys, I got a question. Do you prefer me reposting ship\crew stats to save the progress for future rereading or should I just update the first message?
I'd say update the first message. Possibly leave the starting stats alone and have a separate section for current stats, so that we can compare and know how we're doing.
Here's my characters: Spoiler: Sinut Bahara (main character) Name: “Commodore” Sinuht Bahara Appearance: Biography: Early background unknown. Worked in Naval Intelligence for [rival of whichever government imprisoned us], eventually sneaking into # space and posing as a Commodore. Under this deception, he passed substantial quantities of intelligence to [rivals], and murdered several naval personnel who were either targets of opportunity or suspicious of him (prosecutors managed to prove two, but upward of a dozen are suspected). He was eventually caught after trying to sabotage the ion drive on the fleet’s flagship, repaired with enough cybernetics to restore function so that he could stand trial, and then sent to a penal colony… Major Aspects: Literal Cold-Blooded Killer; Secret Agent. Minor Aspects: Cybernetically Rebuilt; Ex-Navy; Silver-Tongued; I.D. Forger. Spoiler: Sinut's slave Name: Beth Carter Appearance: https://a.cl.ly/E0uEx7Xw Biography: Two years of study, three years doing a hands-on apprenticeship, then another five getting experience, hoping for someone to notice and promote her to a more glamorous (or at least better-paying) job than the prison run, and for what? Getting turned into some lizard’s slave. Major Aspect: Ship’s Mechanic. Minor Aspects: Big Breasts; Submissive.
Seems like nobody really agrees on the attack plan though they generally agree on who should be doing what. I feel like it's better to just get the drop on them then risk something going wrong and having to react after the fact. I feel like Himiko and Kayla are likely the best ones to be using ship weapons though and everyone else seems to be going that way. I think my character is probably best suited to it, with moonblack's being the second best choice. My impression was that Himiko was more sniper oriented than assault trooper.
All characters are preliminarily accepted but... To get a new crewmember, players in quest should do an active requirement action. I won't handwave some way to add crewmembers as a "random event". Also, I will require a logical explanation of how your character fits into the results of crew recruitment action. There are other ways to blend in - impersonate an existing NPC slave, adopt someone's else character, etc. ______________ I have a question. What do you guys think about allowing players to vote before they have a character? After all, quest and RP parts are quite separate and quests benefit from more players.
Would it be reasonable for like say a three day period for when people can vote? Just like if not, then they can be nulled for that round unless their vote is needed. Seems like everyone knows what they want to do here though, so wouldn’t matter.
