"Eh. Why not? Its easy money. Sorry, Verne, but sometimes taking the easy way out works." Kate shrugs.
To Vernes Luck....or Bad Luck he sees Lay Claw in a Corner of The Bar. The Criminal Mind of The Most Powerful Syndicate on This Side of The Planet sees Verne. "Verne Kirshan." The Khel Dor says in a Dark tone.
Verne chuckled, ‘Well, if you consider that the easy way, who am I to judge. Most women I’ve met would only do that as a last resort.’ He scratched his head, ‘Then again, a few of the women I’ve met were doing exactly that, so... forget I said anything.’
Verne gulped, and approached Lay Claw, ‘Greetings, Mr Claw. What brings a big fish like you to a dive like this? I may be in need of your services, however.’
"We all came from a dive like this. You of all People should know Verne." He musters him. "Im here because of this Fact. Nobody suspects that Someone like Me is here."
‘That’s good, I’m looking for a place to lay low for a while,’ Verne told the crime lord, ‘You wouldn’t happen to know a place like that?’
"You know Me long enough to know the answer Kid. Im The Owner of everything You lay Your eyes on. The Trick is making People believe they actually own anything of value in their Lives" He leans back. "Who are Your three Friends....A pleasant sight"
‘Oh,’ Verne said and gestured to his companions, ‘This is Irleen, Kate and Tiya.’ He introduced Lay Claw, ‘And this Khel-Dorian gentleman is Lay Claw, he basically runs half of the planet.’
"Your tendencys to Travel with Beautiful Women is no secret. Why comming to My Doorstep after all these Years?"
‘It wasn’t really a desicion I’ve made, they just showed up on my door recently,’ Verne laughed, ‘Well, the reasons for us seeking a place to lay low are better told somewhere with fewer ears listening.’
Lay Claw waves with a Finger and Several Trandoshan Guards appear from The Corners of The Bar. The local Guests take the Hint and leave The Bar quickly. One of The Trandoshans locks The Door before they walk back to their Spots, watching Verne and The Others closely. "Private enough...Now speak unless You take Pleasure in wasting My Time?"
Irleen wisperd to Verne. "Please, don't tell me that you have some old debts to one of most powerfull men on Nar sharada." She remeber Lay Claw or to be clear, remeber his mens when they getting paid for "protection" from poorest people.
Verne looked around himself and at the guards, ‘Mr Claw, old friend. Isn’t this a bit much?’ He said to Irleen, ‘Well, not the financial kind.’ ‘Look, about that Holocron,’ Verne said to Lay Claw, ‘It turned out the thing wasn’t Jedi at all but Sith ... and the Sith Empire had found it before I arrived. We are on the run from them right now.’
"Hmh and You come here to Hide from them. Im starting to believe Your Friends are left in The Dark about Your Dealings hm?" Tiya crosses her Arms and stares at Verne with a frown.
‘Yes, I am or we are. It’s mutual, I don’t know their past much either,’ Verne said, ‘But suffice it to say, I think they are the ones in greater need to hide from the Empire for a while.’
"Nothing comes without a Price. And since You dissapoint Me again, Why should I even consider to give them what they need?" He leans forward.
Verne cleared his voice, ‘Well, we did get the Holocron in the end ... but it’s far more dangerous than what we had agreed on.’
He slams his fist on The Table loud "My Words were clear. We aggreed Your debt being payed if You bring me a Jedi Holocron, not something like that! I know what it can do to People You damn fool! And every Sith or Inquisitor might be able to sense it, which leads them to Me!"
‘They could sense a Jedi Holocron too, and they are hunting Jedi, which would also lead them to you, ,’ Verne said.
