Xa'rak responds to both of their queries. "Technically, I own the vaults. They were built to keep my cash safe if my accounts ever got frozen, which they have. They were secret to basically everyone. They were built by droids, who were then deactivated and scrapped. Sadly, I made the mistake of telling my lieutenant, a Togruta named Myleena. She was like a daughter to me, so I wanted her to have access to my money if I was killed. I shouldn't have trusted her, but you make dumb decisions when you get emotionally attached. 'Sold you out to the Sith?' Verne raised an eyebrow, 'You escaped the Inquisitors then?'

 

"Barely. Turns out that a guy who hasn't fought another lightsaber user in over a decade isn't the best match for someone who hunts down and kills Jedi for a living. Still, I got away. Mostly thanks to explosives".

 

"Hmm. Interesting enough, we still need to wait for our companions to arrive. I wonder where they are?" Kate replied with a deep sigh.

 

Xa'rak relaxes back in his chair. "We have time to wait for them. That is, unless Master Shan has grown so disgusted with my presence that she can't stand to have me here one moment longer?" He looks at Bastila.

 

Bastila glares subtle at him and then relaxes.

"No it's allright. There are atleast two other People beside Me who have common sense."

 

Xa'rak gives Bastila an honest look. "For what it's worth, Master Shan, I am sorry about what happened. Not for what I did, I still don't see anything wrong with it. But I am sorry that Master Veera was humiliated like that. She's a good woman, she didn't deserve it. I'd never have asked her out if I'd known she'd get hurt".

 

Bastila stands up.

"She WAS a Good Women. She didn't make it. Everything has Consequences Xa'rak. I Hope One Day You realize that"

She walks off

 

Xa'rak looks genuinely phased for the first time since he introduced himself. "Shit". After a moment of silence he looks at his new companions and smiles awkwardly. "I hope your friends get here soon, or this might be an uncomfortable wait".

 

'I'll go check on her,' Verne said and left Xa'rak with Kate, following Bastila.

'Hey, I'm really sorry to hear about Veera. I know she was your friend and a good master,' Verne sighed, 'Seems like you have a bit more unpleasant history with Xa'rak?'

 

Xa'rak sits in awkward silence for a few moments before he leans into towards Kate. "So, how've you been? You said you lost your blaster on Mandalore? Aren't they in the middle of a huge battle right now? Did you get caught up in that?"

 

Kate smiles, giggling a little bit, "Heh. Believe it or not, I'm actually the reason they're at war. The empire put a bounty on my head, and well, we managed to hitch a ride with two mandalorians. And yes, I helped them fight the empire off, I left thinking the empire would follow, but. I guess I was wrong." She sighed.

 

Xa'rak smiles back at her. "Don't jinx it... Still, it's impressive that you fought in a full scale war, let alone on the winning side. How did you piss them off so much that they started a war over you? I mean, don't get me wrong, It's not the first time a war has been started over a stunning woman, but I'm guessing there's more to it than your looks".

 

Bastila walks around a Pillar of The Building before she stops and Verne approaches.

"You dont know what You get Yourself into Verne. This....Man is Dangerous. You didn't see what He did at The Temple and everywhere else. Veera lost Her seat in The Council and wasn't allowed to train Padawans. Everyone avoided her."

She sighs, controlling her feelings.

"She wasn't a Victim of The Purge. She died before. I found her in her Chambers hung up on a Rope. He formed a Syndicate of Criminals instead learning from his Fatal mistake. And now he Is here to convince You to Help him in a Fight that isn't Yours"

 

Kate takes a deep breath, then shrugs, "I honestly don't know. I mean, for all the things I've done, you'd think they want to hire me. But... no, seems like they want me dead. And to be honest, that war was... odd. Even I don't know how we won, especially since those star destroyers seemed fo just... self destruct all of a sudden."

 

'Master Veera... killed herself?' Verne gulped, 'By the Force, I didn't even imagine... I don't even know where to start.'

'So he's just pretending to be nice?' Verne shook his head, 'I trust your judgement on this, tempting as the money may be.'

 

"That's convenient. Maybe you guys have a guardian angel". He looks a little embarassed. "Hey, speaking of ships, you guys have one, right? I had to stowaway here, so If you don't have transport, we can't get to Alderaan".

 

"Technically, Verne has a ship. And we just hitched a ride with him, to escape an empire's secret outpost." Kate replied while looking around the compound for Verne.

 

Bastila eyes Verne.

"I was dissapointed that You left....But I Respect that Choice now. You were a Good Apprentice Verne....So i sincerely Ask You to not trust him. He ruined more then one Life. This Women...Kate She seems a Good Friend to You....Please keep an eye one her" she warns him.

 

"Hopefully Verne doesn't get cold feet then".
