"Hey there, sorry we're late. Verne here wanted to see, if his ship was damaged." Kate shrugged, as she places her tray of food on the table. She then looks at Xa'rak, and Tiya holdings hands, "Oh, sorry. Was I interrupting something?" She asked in an almost sarcastic tone, while smirking at the mandalorian.
Xa'rak looks up at Kate. "No, I think we were just about finished. Just having a discussion about...group dynamics. So, not to be pushy, but have you two come to a decision?"
Xa'rak lifts his hand from Tiya's and holds it out to Verne. "Thank you. I realise that you have serious reservations about me. I'll try not to let you down".
Xa'rak withdraws his hand. "Fair enough". He turns to Kate "I'm sorry if I'm being presumptuous, but I assume, since you seemed more open to the idea than Verne, that if he's joining the crew, you are as well?" He faces Tiya. "That just leaves you. You in?"
He gives Kate a cheeky grin. "A gentleman always waits for a woman to say yes first". Turning back to Tiya, he says "All right, that's everyone else. You want to join us and make some money, Tiya?"
He claps his hands together. "All right, we have a crew! When you're all done eating, I'd like to have a look at your ship, Verne, to see if there's enough space to carry all the supplies. After that, unless any of you have business to take care of here on Nar Shadaa, we should probably get our weapons ready and head for Alderaan. It's probably best if we don't wait too long".
"I was thinking of emotionally blackmailing Bastila into lending us one. I'd tell her that if she doesn't, she'd be responsible for the suffering of everyone here if we can't get enough supplies for them all. That kind of thing." Xa'rak waves his hand casually. "It shouldn't be a problem, though. Those supplies are packed pretty tightly together. Assuming that your ship isn't already full of cargo, it should all be able to fit on a single freighter".
'Emotionally blackmail Bastila?' Verne laughed, 'Good luck with that, I highly doubt she'd fall for that.'
"I mean, I wouldn't be lying. If we needed her help to get those supplies, and she didn't give it to us, she'd be responsible if anyone died of sickness or famine". Xa'rak sits quietly and waits for the others to finish eating.
Kate shrugged as she heard Xa'rak's plan. That's one odd way to gain these people's favor, she thought to herself. As she silently ate her meal. Of course, due to the food being rationed. Kate quickly finished eating.
Xa'rak hears a voice comming from right behind him. "Emotionaly blackmail? Here i had a tiny climpse of Hope You changed" Bastila walks in his Sight "Enjoy The Meal?"
Xa'rak shoots Bastila a shit-eating grin. "You'll notice, Master Shan, that I didn't eat. Instead, I, like the noble and just gentleman that I am, gave my meal to someone who was starving and needed it more than I did". He looks up at her "Still, I had some lovely company. All of whom have decided to join me, for which I'm grateful". His look turns serious. "As for the "emotional blackmail", I'm willing to do that, and worse, to make sure that these people don't starve to death before they reach the end of the food line".
Verne looked to Bastila, 'Sorry, you did say I should keep an eye on my friends. We'll keep the Falleen to his promises...' he looked to Xa'rak, 'Or leave him on a nice uninhabited planet.'
Xa'rak looks at Verne in exasperation. "Look, could we can it with the petty threats? I get the point, you'll turn on me if I don't do what I said I would. If you'll remember, I was the one who made that suggestion in the first place. I know that you don't trust me, and I know that you don't like me, but I've been 100% up front and honest from the start, with you AND Master Shan, so can we at least be civil?" His eyes narrow a bit. "Oh, and it goes both ways, Jedi. I've worked with goody-twoshoes like you before, and a lot of them think that they can rip me off because I'm the "bad guy". Those guys never end up like they want to. Try to screw me over, and I won't maroon you. I'll kill you. Clear?"
'Well, well, that's the first thing you have said, that I know you are honest about,' Verne smirked, 'We'll see about the rest.'
