Jaya nods. "Yes, thanks to your boys and that shield of theirs. It's weird, though, the bolt of...lightning...or whatever that was, it directly hit our engines, but no other vital aread, and it waited until we were only a few feet above the ground until it hit us. It's almost like it wanted us to reach the ground safely, but not to leave. I dunno, maybe I'm just being paranoid. We might not have been spotted until we were close to the ground, or maybe that really was just a random lightning bolt."
Having succeeded on the second try, Eanne siezed the chance and tried reading a random memory of Bec's, curious to learn a bit more about her head bodyguard.
"Oh? What an interesting insight." Vizelle nods, "So it hit our engine, just as we're about to land. Which I would say, without the barrier would be none fatal?" She asked, "So, whatever is on this planet does not want us to leave. Why?" The sorceress started speaking out her thoughts, "Fufu. Do you really think a random lightning bolt would hit just our engine?" She giggled, "Very well, Alexandros, Halipha, you two stay close to the ship. That attack may recur, but seeing as it only aimed for the engine, focus on defending that." Vizelle said, figuring the twins had the better rhythm than Rikker and Verner. "Jaya, leave your mechanics to repair the damage, and leave the automatons to defend the area. We will inspect that building in a small party."
Elena wondered, how was it that the man was given soo much leeway... was he still a prisoner. Her eyes drifted for a moment at the two women at their knees, but she quickly ignored their state. They were not humans, it was obvious they would be treated as inferiors. She sat in front of the prince. "Not as surprising, as you make it so, I suspect, Prince." Elena said and looked around. "I was wondering, has your status as prisoner changed?" she asked.
Pressing forward, Eanne feels the world around her begin to disappear. "Careful!" Bec shouts, sword flashing as she parries a blow and ripostes directly into the throat of the man attacking her. Ramming the blade home, she lets go of it, drawing a pistol and dagger, and pressing forward across the bridge of the pirate frigate. Eanne, seeing Bec's point of view, and feeling all the sensations and emotions of her bodyguard, experiences an unprecedented rush of adrenaline as Bec carves through three more pirates, slashing the throat of one, before dodging out of the way of another, slamming the pistol's grip into his temple, before lining him up and executing both of them with the same round. As the shell casing drops to the floor, Bec turns, watching the woman on the other side of the bridge. As Bec sees her wife fighting, dashing and dancing elegantly amongst a half dozen angry aliens, she can't help but feel her adrenaline replaced with a flood of other emotions. Jealousy, at the way the First Sword of Samodiva effortlessly carves through her foes, so much more elegant than Bec's own brutish style of combat. Fear, that her wife might for once make a mistake and pay the price. Irritation, at her wife's endless arrogance in launching such a foolishly brazen plan. And, buried beneath it all, though Bec would never admit it, lust. Spirax dispatches her foes before Bec can move to help, giving her signature shit eating grin, to which Bec rolls her eyes irritably. The First Sword moves to the ship's controls, tapping on the holographic screen. "What are you doing?" Bec crosses her arms. "Ev, what are you... No. No, that's stupid, stop it." She walks up to her wife, who by now is plotting a collision course, to ram the captured pirate ship into an even bigger enemy ship. "Ev, we completed our job, let's not do anythin- Ah!" Bec is cut off as Spirax grins and pulls her wife down to join her on the captain's seat, silencing the redhead with a kiss. Eanne feels the rush second hand, but vividly, as the two begin to kiss passionately, hands caressing each other's bodies, while the enemy starship grows closer. "Ev, we've got to-aah!" Bec cries out as her wife begins to touch her cunt. "I noticed you caught up to my kill count earlier." Commander Spirax nibbles on Bec's ear, the feeling reverberating through Eanne's body as if it was happening to her. "Time for a tie-breaker." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The scene shifts, and suddenly Eanne recognises that she, or at least Bec, is on the palace of Samodiva. The redhead stands on a balcony, looking down at Eanne's coronation procession. "Having a perv, eh? I knew you had a crush on our princess. You always had a thing for blondes." Eanne feels heat in Bec's cheeks as she blushes, turning to face her wife. "Shut up, Ev, she's our liege, I don't have any feelings for her. Besides, what do you care?" Despite her words, Eanne feels that Bec isn't being truthful when she denies having a thing for her boss. Spirax sighs. "C'mon, my love, are you still taking this so hard? You know me, I love you, but I can't stay here anymore. I need bigger things, better things, than Samodiva. I still want you with me." Bec shakes her head. "This is my home." Spirax sighs. "So be it, then." Without another word, she turns, and leaves." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eanne jumps at the shock of returning to the present, in her own mind and body. In front of her, Bec comes to her senses as well, and immediately blushes. "Um, sorry, I didn't mean... I didn't want you to see that one." (Hope that wasn't too bad to read. It's mostly just fluff anyway, so it can be ignored.)
Jaya nods. "Yeah. Barring an accident like a crate falling on someone, the shock wouldn't kill anyone. Without the barrier, though, I'd say our engines would be fucked permanently. We'd have had to replace them, or find a completely different ship. As it is, should only take an hour or so to fix, though I'll have to take a closer look to make sure." Jaya stands, and the disciples fall in behind Vizelle, assembling the ground party, as Alexandros and Halipha activate the mechs in a defensive posture.
The prince chuckles. "Oh, this?" He gestures to the lewd party around him. "I've been...co-operating with your military. We're allies, now, or at least we will be when your emperor gives his okay to the plan."
Seeing the mechs, Vizelle sends a telepathic message to the loyal crewmember. Did you do as I ask? While she checks on the surrounding, once more using her psionic rader to check the vicinity of the building they're headed to.
Yes, mistress. The crewman responds obediently. Heading outside, she feels tropical heat, but no psionic presence anywhere. Whatever energy is coming from the building, it isn't psionic.
"Whatever you are. You've piqued my interest." Vizelle cooed as she didn't feel any psionic energy. She waits for Jaya, Rikkert, and Verner to get ready before heading out.
Team behind her, Vizelle sets out into the alien jungle. Looking at the facility, she sees that it's wedged in the middle of the cenote, connected to the land by a sturdy looking bridge. "Hmm... The facility looks interesting." Jaya says from afar. "The architecture isn't like the buildings in the cities. I think it was put here by a visitor, like us."
(That was very enjoyable to read, actually. ) “It's alright, Bec, the point of this exercise is for me to be able to see things people don't want me to see...” Eanne replied as she quickly caught her bearings after the initial disorientation. “So that's what your wife was like. Samodiva was too small for her, and apparently so was the Empire's military... It's her loss that she chose to leave you behind in favor of her ambitions...” The blonde commented, then smirked at her bodyguard. “So, did you have fun watching me during my coronation?”
Bec nods, quietly, and then blushes at the flirtation, before smirking back. "What can I say? That coronation looked really good on you. If you're going to get dumped, it's nice to have some eye candy to soften the blow." She grins, before shaking her head. "Sorry, that was inappropriate." (Thanks )
"Oh? Think they're still here?" Vizelle asked as she tries to detect for movement within the facility. "Also, do you think this facility is the reason the people here disappeared?"
Elena nodded. "I see..." She said, as she looked back at the prince. "There might be a little trouble with that." She paused. "You see, we know that you are in contact with the former confessor." She stated, scanning his thoughts. "Who is a recently turned traitor. That might put a stop to the plan of allying..." She said with a light tone.
"Hard to say. There's no exterior guards, and I don't see anyone in the windows, but who knows?' Jaya shrugs. Looking, Vizelle sees no movement. "I can't be sure, but I don't think so. This looks like a research center to me. It's not big enough to be a death camp, and if it were some kind of superweapon there'd be a much higher power signature."
"Oh, that?" He chuckles. "Yes, she did contact me. Apparently her position at court was threatened, and she wanted to try a coup, seeing if I could contact my family, to get an invasion started to distract the military while she took over here." He shrugs. "I considered it, but she reeked of desperation, and then your military gave me a much better offer. I don't like high risk, and it doesn't get much higher risk than a coup."
“It's alright, Bec, I don't mind.” Eanne moved closer to the redhead, the smirk still on her face. “If eye candy is what you want, feel free to look as much as you want. And maybe do more than simple looking, when you are not on duty. Just make sure not to let jealousy get in the way – as you should know already, I can be quite the slut in private, and that is unlikely to change any time soon, if ever.”
"I..uhh...I didn't know you...that you were...um...interested." Her cheeks go red as her face, before she chuckles. "Don't worry, if you read my mind, then you know that I was thinking about doing something other than marrying you, when I saw you at your coronation." She clears her throat. "Ahem...anyway. What now?"
“Well, how about we continue the training? The last thing I saw was your ex wife leaving, but I didn't get to actually read your thoughts during the coronation. So how about I try reading that part of your memories? If that is alright with you, of course...”
