"What? What are you doing? Unhand me!" The white haired woman shouts as the guards seize her. The blonde scientist rolls her eyes, seemingly more willing to cooperate, while the non-human doesn't speak, terrified. "We've linked him up to a neural interface." The blonde explains. "This is ancient tech, made by ancient humans to give them almost complete control over the planet. It's weather, the speed of its rotation, the speed of its orbit around the local star. We've been studying the technology, trying to figure out how to reproduce it." She sighs. "Sadly, this tech was built for people with psionic power that dwarfs even the greatest modern psionics. Ancient humans were simply in a different league." She points to the man bound in the center. "Because of that, we had to compensate. We found a non-human with remarkable latent psionic potential, but it still wasn't enough. Hence, this." She points to the tubes. "They've been hurting my brother." The non-human woman says. "Killing him with this...thing. They told me they could help him, fix the damage his overpowered psionics were inflicting on his brain. Instead, they did this to him." The scientist ignores the sister. "As for the inhabitants, no, this planet was abandoned when we found it."
"Maybe." Tymothy shakes his head. "I don't know, he spends a lot of nights out. Right now, he's probably out drinking with his cronies."
Yannika frowned, she'd have to help Yoeseph later. For the moment, she had to devise a way to convince her father to give her the evidence she wanted. "That's... something I'll have to address later when I have the chance. What about dad's business? Is there anything he's after lately? Anything he wants or needs?" If she could acquire leverage, she'd be in a better negotiating position.
"Actually..." Tymothy thinks. "There was something, a deal he's doing. Give me a second, sis, I'll be right back." Her brother hurries out of the room, looking for something. There's silence for a few moments, before Velve looks at Yannika. "There's...another way...that this could be resolved."
While listening the to blond talk, Vizelle looks at the bound up man. Do you want me to save you? She asked telepathically, but as she mentioned ancient humans. The sorceress couldn't help but grin, "Hmm. You wouldn't happen to have a key card, would you?" She asked as she walks, or rather limps around due to the pain of her injury. Vizelle then looks to Mary, "Hmm. So are they the thing you were speaking off? The ones that collected all the others?"
The figure looks at her silently, unable to respond. Evidently, the earlier warning was all he could muster up to communicate with her. "A key card?" The white haired woman asks. "Oh, just shut up and give it to her, Wynne." The blonde scientist says irritably. Mary looks at the test subject. "Hard to say for certain, but I believe so."
"Hmm. Is there a way to remove those things attached to him?" Vizelle asked the blond, before sending a psionic wave filled with lust to Wynne. The sorceress then looks at Mary, "I see. And? What do you think of them?"
Yannika provided Velve a somewhat remorseful look. "I'm not sure that even with his ill health my father would step away from his position, willingly or otherwise. And if Yoeseph is in the state Tymothy says he is then forcing him into the big seat would only spell disaster. Thank you for your input though."
"Not without killing him." The blonde responds. "Most likely, at least." Spoiler: Telepathy Roll D100: 67+20+87 Spoiler: Wynne's Willpower Save D100: 56 Wynne doubles over, as she feels her body come to an abrupt orgasm. Mary looks at Vizelle. "I don't think particularly highly, to be particularly honest. This interface is clearly meant to be interacted with by psionic power alone. Attaching a human who's not sufficiently powerful to it like this was simply never going to work. It explains why they were never able to gain full control."
"Very well." She relents, not willing to press the issue. "I do know a way you can gain the leverage you seek. But there is something I want in return for the information."
"Do give me the key card, unless you want every man here to have his way with you." Vizelle said with a smirk, making the guards drop their weapons, and start undoing their lower armor. But after hearing the blond's response, the sorceress sighed. Moving closer, she inspects the bound man with her psionics, thinking maybe she could use her biomancy to fix the damages that would happen if they unhook him.
Seeing the display, Wynne hurriedly hands the card over. Looking at the man, she thinks she could probably unhook him and heal his wounds, but she'd have to do it quickly, and have luck on her side.
Her sister-in-law was an interesting one Yannika decided and she'd make sure to keep an eye on her in the future. "Oh? What would that be hmm?"
Vizelle beckons for Verner to take the card, before looking at the man again. Shall I take the chance to save you then, you may either live, or die however? Blink once if you agree. She telepathically told him, and if he gives his consent. Vizelle has the blond unhook him, before immediately operating on him with her biomancy.
"I know the name of a certain lord who has blackmail material on your father, information your father definitely doesn't want getting out." She looks back at Yannika. "It should be more certain to gain your father's obedience than what my husband will bring you. My price is this: When you blackmail your father, I want you to force him to make Tymothy the heir again."
He blinks once. Detaching the man involves uncoiling the tubes from deep within his flesh, and it isn't long before his vitals begin to drop. His sister looks on, horrified. Spoiler: Biomancy Roll D100: 64+15=79 It's a long, painful process, but Vizelle manages to keep the young non-human alive. The pain is immense, though, and he immediately passes out. Outside, interestingly enough, it begins to rain.
"Haah. He's alive." Vizelle let out a relieved sigh as the operation succeeded. "Now, get him somewhere proper to rest." She said, a little surprised it started raining. "Now then." She looks at the machine curiously, taking Mary's words into account. She uses her psionics to tap into it.
