Bec nods. Heading to meet the engineers, it doesn't take too long before they have the a tracing device active. "They'll need to keep the line open for a little while, though." One explains. Not long after, the device begins to vibrate once more.
"Very well, your highness. Then, as your advisor, I shall be on standby and rest a little... until you need me." She said. "If that is all, I shall take my leave." She got up and made her way back to the shuttle.
First thing, Elena decided to check on Ingrid. If the woman was still alive, that was. As long as she was, Elena would be careful...
"Very well, your Majesty. It would be my honor to join. But for now, I will take my leave. Until you need me again, of course." Vizelle grins, turning around as she leaves. She heads back to meet with Jaryn, and the Zhou siblings for status updates.
Heading to the indoctrination chamber, Elena finds that her people have been careful to keep the traitor alive, at least until Elena directly gives an order to kill her.
The Zhous report that so far, things have been normal. A representative from the Cold Moon came to collect tribute, but this is apparently a regular occurence.
Elena looked at the woman, and shook her head. "Give her a ride of her life. A list one she will ever have. Notify my when she is done." She ordered and left. She went to the communication room, and contacted Van Dorn family, to check on them.
The sisters bow, informing Elena that Ingrid will be finished. In the communication, it takes only a few minutes for the elder Van Dorn to respond, her hologram lighting up. "Sister Superior." She bows respectfully.
Vizelle nods, relaying about how Lorena, one of Markus' lieutenant contacted her. She then asks Jeryn what he learned about the Cold Moon's organization in the capital.
Spoiler: Jeryn's Info gathering roll D100:66+15 (Espionage specialty)=81 (Pass) Jeryn quickly returns to her, handing in his report. He notes that the Cold Moon presence on the planet is divided among multiple captains, each with their own 'family', or small criminal empire, of whom Markus is just one. Jeryn says that he can gather info on the others should Vizelle wish, but so far he's been focusing on Markus' organisation. He also notes that there's an overseer, who is ranked above all of the captains, but whoever they are, they're extremely private. No one he's contacted has any idea who the overseer is. For now, his report focuses on Markus' family. Spoiler: Leader Markus (Surname unknown): A former slave and gladiator, Markus was an enforcer in the Cold Moon who made a name for himself through his ruthlessness and skill at combat, which would later be enhanced by extensive gene modifications. He rose to the rank of lieutenant under a respected captain, and was able to assume the role of captain after the man's death. According to rumors (spoken in hushed whispers, for fear of provoking retaliation), Markus has proven to be a poor leader. He's not incapable of managing the business aspects of his family (Jeryn notes that a Cold Moon report he intercepted lists the man as being highly intelligent), but he's simply not interested in it, preferring violence and war to negotiation, which has angered the more professional elements of the Cold Moon. Spoiler: Criminal Operations Markus' business interests are focused largely on extortion, making criminals and legitimate businesses alike pay to operate in his vast territory, assassination, drug smuggling, and prostitution Spoiler: Manpower Markus has over 1000 men at his disposal, though the true number is hard to determine, and always fluctuating. The troops themselves are diverse, as well. He has a main force of street thugs, but also professional mercenaries, alien hit squads, and Lorena's courtesans, each one trained in how to defend themselves. Spoiler: Lieutenants Kratt Vile - By all accounts an unhinged maniac, Kratt is a mysterious figure, who's taken Markus' former role as the lieutenant in charge of extortion and assassination. Though his tactics are bit more stealthy and sly than Markus' direct approach, his body count is nonetheless astronomical, and rumors indicate that he relishes inflicting and receiving pain in equal measure. His underlings are largely loyal, due to the terror tactics he employs, though if he were made less fearsome, that loyalty would likely crumble. According to gossip, his opinion of his captain is ambivalent; as long as Markus gives him people to kill and torture, he doesn't really care about politics in the organisation. Songril Jett - Known on the street as Jett, it's an open secret that Songril has been the 'brains' behind Markus' operation for a while now, managing the business aspects, especially drugs. He's a former con-man who rose to prominence due to a silver tongue and a keen financial mind, which has let him excel in balancing the family's books. His men aren't especially loyal, mostly there for the paycheck. Talk differs regarding his level of loyalty. Some say he's happy with Markus as boss, since it allows him access to the family's finances, while others claim that he resents Markus for constantly using violent tactics, and therefore hurting revenues. Lorena, Mistress of the Night - A protege of the famous Madame Dubernay, Lorena is the sole leader of the family's prostitution business, and generally the family's diplomatic representative, though under Markus, diplomacy isn't exactly a priority. She's well respected, and has acquired her mentor's skill for managing women of the night. Her underlings are extremely loyal, and in return she seems to care deeply for their welfare. According to rumors she has a healthy if distant relationship with her boss.
The blonde nods. "My husband passed without incident, ma'am. There have been a few accusations of foul play, but nothing major or actionable, and I've been secretly bribing news outlets to criticise the accusers. Most have retracted, and those that haven't have gained a reputation of being opportunists and liars. My daughter is now lady of the house, under my guidance."
“Alright, let's give this a try. Answer the call and try to keep the other person talking for as long as possible. If they ask about me, tell them I am unavailable but you don't know why.” Eanne instructed, waiting to see if their little trick would work.
"Fufufu. How interesting." Vizelle hummed, grinning as she read the report. "Wonderful work, Jeryn." She cooed, "And as a reward for your hard work." She then calls for Mary, who is wearing her collar. "She is yours for the night. A new friend for you to get acquainted with." The sorceress teased, already thinking up ways to bring down one part of the Cold Moon. Lorena already wishes to work with me. This Jett could be a helpful tool to bring in resources. And Kratt Vile, fufu, too much risks in recruiting him, but if his men are trained enough, they will be a good addition to Wen's espionage team. She thought to herself, licking her lips as she pondered how to dispose of Kratt in front of his men.
Spoiler: Deception Roll D100: 62 A female engineer answers the call, emulating Zakira's sultry tone of voice as she talks with whoever is on the other end of the line. As she does, the engineers work on tracing the signal back, from comm buoy to comm buoy, across the galaxy. Finally, they manage to identify one of Samodiva's moons as the point of origin, though not specifically where on the moon, when the other side hangs up.
Jeryn thanks his mistress, sliding his hands along Mary's voluptuous body. As the two walk away together, Vizelle examines the the report again. Apparently, Kratt keeps his base of operations secret, unlike the other two lieutenants. The only times he's seen publicly are when he goes to meet with his boss, or when he heads out to commit an act of violence with his men.
"Hmm. Unfortunate, but I never expected it would be easy." Vizelle hummed. "Now then, do the three of you have anything to add before I go meet Lorena?"
Wen steps forward. "Lorena is wealthy, and strong, but she cares about her employees. Promise to treat her girls and guys better than Markus, that's the way to get her on side."
"Thank you for the advice. And yes, fufu, I was just planning on doing that." Vizelle grins, "Alright, meeting dismissed." She hummed, standing up, she lets her disciples rest, as she heads to Lorena's brothel.
