Well, here we are again kiddo's. I want to do another RPG... I want to go back to Stories from the Grand Empire and I'm hoping that some folks want to come along with me. We will be continuing rather than starting anew. There is a better list of rules at the player info/discussion page. Of course, any of the original 3 are allowed to reprise their roles. @moonblack , @GenericEditor168 , and @Auraicide...Or if you'd rather, you can make new characters. I have an idea for how to do the character switch. However, anyone else is free to join. Just take a quick look at the rules and post up your character here. Just keep in mind that Grand Empire is probably going to be a bit slower than Demon Hunters Association. I also have a full time job now where when I started DHA, I did not. I'll try to update as often as I can, but don't be surprised if a week passes without an update post. (I know i'm going to regret this. It's totaly going to die after a week or so.)
@GenericEditor168 has also expressed interested in joining up again...Although he's thinking of playing a different character. That just means that we need at least 1 more person...preferrably 2.
I'll take this up again. I have more free time these days anyway. Though I'm going to pick a different kind of character likely. I need to see the character sheet layout again to remember how it all works.

You might want to go for something a bit more humanoid, because some(or many) may distrust you if you don't.) Keep in mind that they aren't the only things you can do and certain things can be done without a skill or ability. However, it'll be more likely for you to fail. Anyone can attempt to pick a lock, but someone who specializes it will fail less than someone who doesn't. Also, there will be opportunities for improvement. So the skills or spells that you start with may not be the only ones you have throughout the whole RPG) Background: (This is essentially your story up to this point. You don't need an extensive backstory, but interesting backgrounds tend to lead to interesting story possibilities.) Equipment: (This is what gear you currently have. Yes, I'm intending to join in, but I haven't decided between continuing as my Rosen Hexblade or coming up with a new character. Shortstack lizard mad scientist, anyone?
Right now, my minds on ninjas and samurai lately, so probably something along those lines is what I'll do. I can find a way to justify it.
Might I suggest being of Midcort Origin? Spoiler Midcort: Midcort is a backwards and tribal nation in the cold northwestern part of the continent. They are not and have never been part of the Grand Empire. Their dense forest and dangerous climate makes invasion by a hostile army very difficult and has helped to keep them isolated from the world at large. Their religion has a central theme of sacrifice to appease their deities and that sacrifice can be either people or animals. Because of this, their beliefs have no traction within the Empire itself which they often have border disputes with. They would be the least likely to care about your experimentations. You would be largely alienated if you were outed...but you're kind of a lizard guy anyway so you'll still be alienated in most locations. I don't think any of the nations really have a Japanese theme. I wouldn't be surprised if the various nations have some sort of spy/special operations people who you might be able to shoehorn in a Ninja into. Not sure how you would get Samurai to work.
Well maybe a ninja in the sense of a combat pragmatist/saboteur. Poisons, traps, weaponizing explosive compounds, with the occasional spell in the mix. If that won't work, what about an Arabic culture? I also had this idea for a black armored templar who follows a hedonist religion trying to route out "heresies" that practice things like celibacy and humility.
That would be fine. That would also be fine. It's not exactly Arabic, but Skeea would be a good homeland for a mindset like that. It would be effectively a small cult or something along those lines. Or you could go with Midcort which doesn't have an Arabic climate, but would foster a religion with beliefs like that.
Unless someone can think of a reason to otherwise. I don't see why we can't just use the old thread over here.
