Story idea: CHYOA character becomes self aware

Does else think this would be cool, or just me?

So, I have this idea. It came to me when I was writing a chapter within my latest story 'Futa Island' where the main character logs online and ends up reading a CHYOA within a CHYOA, which was maybe one of my most fun ideas that I have ever put into a story.

After doing this, I thought about playing around with this idea of getting even more meta, like what if you were playing a CHYOA and the main character just starts talking to you, the reader, commenting on the decisions that you were making and pleading for you to take certain options and not others.

Like you are given two options: one leads your little self aware amigo to safety, making them eternally grateful, or two, leads them to getting repeatedly fucked while shouting obscenities at you for choosing this option,after which their trust with you sharply declines.

I don't know if/when I will have the time to fully explore this premise, but it does tickle me...

Oh, cool! I like that your characters are self aware. I'd like to see a story where they interact with you though, like actually converse with the reader through the choices! Full on fourth wall breaking insanity :confused:
 
Heh, well I have established that Eris, goddess of Chaos is very aware she's in A Chyoa when she shows up in ASH. Even talks about re-editing the story and that the writer needs to get off his ass and finish writing her ending so she can get a sex scene too...

I do like the idea of a character well aware that choices are being made, but it only really works for me if the rest of the characters are clueless. Kinda the whole Animator vs. Animated thing.
