I'm drawing a blank on what to play at the moment. Since this doesn't seem like the type of every-player-in-one-party game, go ahead and start without me. I can join later.

 

Second concept I had was a mechanic building and using swarms of drones and other cybernetic monstrosities. Something akin to a Shadowrun Rigger.

Ive got two characters in mind, and I'm not sure which one I'd like to play.

Name: Valerie Coxswell
Age: 39
Occupation: Corporate (Business owner and crime-lord sub-boss)
Equipment: Casino, Nightclubs, Bordello businesses, limousine, high-rise penthouse apartment, and $250,000 liquid currency. (Several million net worth)
Looks: Valerie's style is a sort of corporate/prostitute combination. Corset and removable brassier under a low-cut blouse, short skirt with garter-belt and stockings (sans panties), and form fitting blazer. Valerie exudes sex and moves like it, a little extra sway in her hips and suggestive spark in her eye.
Ethnic roots: Anglo-American. Scottish/Russian heritage
History: Greed, Vanity, Lust, Envy, and Pride with just a touch of Sloth nowadays that she has minions to do her bidding; the only one missing is Gluttony and she's doing just fine without it.

Arrogant, ambitious, and driven are the best ways to describe Valerie. She grew up poor, and vowed young not to stay that way. A teenage pregnancy almost derailed those plans, but she made the most gut-wrenching and heartbreaking decision of her life giving her baby boy up for adoption. As a young woman she did anything and anyone to get ahead. By the time she was twenty-two she was a small business woman; by thirty-two she was in charge of a multi-million dollar enterprise. Not all of her actions have been strictly 'legal' per-say, but for Valerie morality is something that's great until it gets in the way. When it does discard it, you can always pick it up once you're done.

She works with (for) crime kingpin Kano Tomioka as one of his top lieutenants.

Family and family status: One biological son given up for adoption, no contact since birth.
Friends and Enemies: Kano Tomioka (Japanese) - mentor and one of the five kingpins of crime in the city. His contacts and influence are vast. Though he sees Valerie as a trusted aide, she seeks to depose him and claim his empire for her own.
Victor Rufflaw (African-American) - Kano's top lieutenant and head of Kano's oil, steel and energy enterprises. The two men have been friends since youth and Victor is completely loyal to Kano. A capable but unimaginative businessman, Victor is as formidable as his physique is hulking. Completely professional and stoic, his body language betrays nothing. Occasional sexual partner of Valerie (fuck buddies without being buddies)
Ying Lei (Chinese) - Personal assistant and assassin for Kano Tomioka, Valerie and Ying have a tense relationship at the best of times, with neither woman liking the other or trusting one another for that matter. They work together because they have to, not because they want to. Business professional in both appearance and manner.
Chaz Lightbang (Anglo-American) - Wry, slippery, and energetic. Chaz is the head of Kano's street-level operations: gun-running, drug trafficking, and slave-trading. Chaz is loud, abrasive and egotistical with a spike Mohawk, tattoos covering his entire body, wide eyes and constant shaking the ill-fitting suits he wears make him look like an adolescent teen playing a being a grown-up. Regardless, he is a surprisingly effective and efficient operative.
Past and present romantic interests: Too many sexual partners to list here
Big problems and big advantages: Valerie runs the shady (yet still legal) entertainment aspects of Kano's empire: the casinos, nightclubs and bordellos, this provides her with vast wealth and influence. She's also responsible for keeping high profile individuals (ie// city councilmen, layers, cops, and judges) under Kano's control. This gives her access to personal secrets of the rich and powerful.
Dark secrets(optional)(maybe the character is responsible for the murder, is being blackmailed):
Long time targets and motivation: Valerie is through playing number two woman to Kano's crime-lord kingpin. She wants the operation for herself and thinks it's time the older man retired and since he's unlikely to step aside then she'll have to retire him. But his lieutenants are loyal, and capable and none of them trust each other. If she's to make a move they'll surely act against her if she can't remove them first, or somehow get them on her side.

Cybernetics: Valerie, while still wanting to remain human, has a complete suit of cybernetic enhancements designed to maintain the body of a twenty-five-year-old. Externally, she doesn't age, internally her age is kept artificially retarded. Even her ovaries are kept in pristine condition. Allowing her to bear children for centuries if she were to live that long (doubtful, as good as her enhancements are they aren't that good). Not wanting to risk pregnancy at the current time however, she has her reproductive system locked so that only sperm carrying her own DNA could impregnate her.

Cyber Illness: Power and dominance are the key attributes of Valerie so it's an ironic twist that she loves to be sexually dominated by her partners. Naturally sexually submissive, Valerie will never say "No" to a sexually aggressive partner. Grab her tits? get a smile. Smack her ass? she'll thrust it out for another. Force her over a table? she'll spread her legs so you'll have an easier time. Valerie will rarely initiate sexual situations without good reason, but she'll never deny an assertive man.

If Valerie has one weakness, it's children. She loves babies, and the hardest thing she ever did was give up her own. She knows it was the right decision for her, but she still wonders "What if?..." This inherent desire for motherhood however has resulted in an impregnation fetish which is partly why she had her system locked in the way she did. She doesn't want to face that choice again because she knows she'd never be able to pick it.

Forbidden: Standard suite of the others gore, scat, etc.

History:
Family and family status: Father Vasily, mother Jeanne, uncle Leonid; all living in the semi-safe Pacifica arcology inside Big City. His father is leading a minor cybernetics corporation, while his mother works as an accountant in her husband's corp. Older sister Vivianne, who works as an ER medic.
Friends and Enemies: Alexey became best of friends with his cousin Gregory (Leonid's son), who's friendly, outgoing and deeply in love with a girl. His cousin made his money by working as a bartender in a virtual reality/real space strip joint. Alexey was often glad that good people like Gregory still existed in the world.
Starting his work on the police force, Alexey quickly grew to idolise his superior John Reeves (>>see Mazoku's post), who Alexey sees as one of the last uncorrupted cops in the City.
Past and present romantic interests: During police training, Alexey had an affair with a fellow recruit, Fiona, for three years. They were assigned to different parts of the City and slowly grew apart after they started their jobs in earnest. Though separated, there was still a lingering feeling of companionship and attraction between them.
Alexey met a prostitute calling herself Lola, who he regularly met on his beat. Finally succumbing to her recurring proposals, Alexey started to semi-regularly make use of her services, growing fairly fond of the woman over time. She also helped him with his cyber-illness in that way.
Big problems and big advantages: Alexey was a cop, and with that came the problems. Naturally, all the gang members hated him; most of the corporate goons belittled him unless they needed something. A few other cops disliked him for being too by-the-book. The temptation for becoming corrupt himself was always there, bribes readily available at every juncture.
Alexey did make a connection to an up-and-coming prosecutor in the City courts.
Occasionally had run-ins with the City celebrity reporter Gina (>>Auraicide's character). Thinking she was a force for good in the City, Alexey provided her with what information he could to help her with a few of her investigations.
Dark secrets: Alexey became an informant and sometimes agent for the KGB, facilitated through his father.
Long time targets and motivation: Alexey wanted to live his life and maybe make a difference for the scant few in the city he could help, while also serving his motherland in the shadows. He had no illusions about solving crime or corporate greed, but if he could help an innocent citizen live to see another day, stay unharmed or keep their possessions, he considered it a day well-spent. While he would like to see himself as a husband and father in the far future one day, such thoughts are merely secondary to sheer survival and duty while on the mean streets of BC.

Cybernetics: Standard law enforcement cybernetic suite to increase senses and general utility: man/machine interface, ocular enhancement, auditory enhancement, olfactory enhancement.
Cyber Illness: The enhancements to Alexey's senses left him with the need to occasionally overindulge in their use: vivid displays of colour or erotic imagery; deafeningly loud music or the sounds of passionate sex; overpowering odours be they pleasant or revolting. The police provided a software simulation package to manage needs like that, but sometimes only proper hardware can sate the desires.
Forbidden: Water sports, scat, heavy BDSM, torture, gore (losing a limb and then having it replaced with cybernetics is fine)

Is that alright so far? I might add more detailed history later. Not sure about any connections to the other players, I'm open to suggestions in that regard.

 

Maybe not my character directly, but may know the detective I have listed in Friends and Enemies.

It's fine, he only needs one mentor figure and John fits the bill quite well.

 

He might be one of Gina’s good police contacts too...or she thinks he is depending on how you want to play

 

That would be nice, Gina has the public image of doing good around the city, so he'd help her out with what he could do. I'd imagine they're not friends but have run into each other often enough when Gina is investigating something crime related.

Equipment: Modified pistol firing three-round bursts (think ROBOCOP). low-rent apartment, motorcycle, a few thousand dollars cash
Looks: At 6'5 and near 300lbs with the body of a bodybuilder, Tom is a towering and imposing presence yet in EVERY way. His style is actually quite common: biker boots, blue jeans, short-sleeve shirt, leather jacket and shades.
Ethnic roots: Anglo-American
History: Given up for adoption as a newborn Tom never knew his birth parents. Originally considered highly likely for adoption he ended up being raised by the system until his early teenage years when a wealthy tycoon suddenly appeared and adopted the boy without even meeting him. Early on Richard worked to win Tom's trust and obedience, a task made easy by Tom's longing to belong. Once satisfied of Tom's unquestionable loyalty and devotion, Richard subjected the teenager to extensive and painful cybernetic enhancements. His bones were replaced with reinforced carbon-fiber steel, his immune-system optimized, his left eye replaced with a synthetic prosthetic providing both night and thermal vision as well as recording capabilities. His muscle mass was increased and musculature amplified.
Psychological conditioning went hand-in-hand with his physical alterations, and Thomas' indoctrination included reduced sensitivity to extreme acts of violence. In many ways he's more machine than man, yet he is not intentionally cruel. He'll do whatever it takes to get the job done and feel no remorse about it, but he won't go out of his way to inflict malice upon others. He's loyal to the Highcrest family first, last, and always and works as their enforcer going where they need him to go and doing what they need him to do without question, hesitation, or doubt. A valued piece in the great game Richard Highcrest plays, but still an expendable one.
Family and family status: Biological parents unknown. Highcrest Family (Adoptive Family) - Alive. Relationships vary.
Friends and Enemies: Richard Highcrest (Adoptive Father) - Emotionally manipulative, Tom isn't so much a son to Richard as he is a tool. He regularly withholds both attention and approval as a means of controlling Tom and is very quick to remind Tom that the Highcrests are the only ones who've ever cared for him. Richard is a major player in both The Big City and has his hands in all sorts of businesses both legitimate and less so. It is often against the "less so" elements that Richard deploys Tom, but not always.
Denise Highcrest (Adoptive Mother): Distant and aloof, Denise has made an active effort to never treat Tom as a member of her family. He is not her son, he will never be her son, and she has gone to great lengths to make sure he knows this. Whether this is because she actively despises his presence or due to more... carnal reasons is unknown.
Tiffany Highcrest (Adoptive Older Sister): While Tiffany has never treated Tom as a brother she is the only one to show him respect as a human being. They have at best and worst a neutral relationship. Tiffany is estranged from the rest of her family and works to bring law and order to The Big City.
Tanya Highcrest (Adoptive Sister): Tonya's twin sister; a rich and spoiled brat she's grown up understanding that societies rules don't apply to her or others like her. She's sexually attracted to Tom and aggressively teases him sexually with thinly veiled cruelty and malevolence.
Tonya Highcrest (Adoptive sister): Tanya's twin sister; a rich and spoiled brat, she's grown up understanding that societies rules don't apply to her or others like her. She's sexually attracted to Tom and has aggressively teased him sexually with thinly veiled cruelty and malevolence. This has recently changed however.
Past and present romantic interests: Tanya and Tonya Highcrest - Though not romantic, the twins like to sexually torture Tom. Tonya in particular liked to play out a cuckolding fetish, by having men over and fuck her in front of Tom while she belittled him. Her most recent attempt backfired however, and now she acts with trepidation around him.
Big problems and big advantages: As a de facto member of the Highcrest family, Tom is considered to be virtually untouchable among the powerful forces of The Big City. However, he has a big target on his back because he is seen as Highcrest's primary enforcer. Those looking to start a mob war would definitely be looking to eliminate him.
Dark secrets: Unbeknown to any of the Highcrests, Tom suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder "DID" (Multiple Personalities). While his primary identity "Tom" is the one that Richard has manipulated, his other darker identity may in fact be a unintended result of those manipulations. While Thomas is stoic, rather emotionless and near robotic, his other personality is the complete opposite; feral, savage and brutal. It's difficult to trigger the shift, usually requiring Tom to be in a heightened and stressful emotional state. But when it does trigger Tom becomes more animal than man acting on instinct. The most recent emergence was when Tonya had herself gangbanged in front of him. Tom was restrained and naked at the time and she belittled him without mercy. Once the switch happened he shattered the restraints, murdered the men, and proceeded to fuck Tonya with wild abandon breaking her pussy time and time again until her mind went to a state of delirious ecstasy. It took her three days to recover her mind from that savage fucking and ever since she's found herself aching for more. However, believing Tom is beneath her, she cannot bring herself to have him so completely dominate her again.
Long time targets and motivation: Thomas' motivations are actually quite plebeian. Growing up never having a family or a place he belongs he desires nothing more than a wife and children of his own. A family that loves him.

Aside from a mansion outside of The Big City and considerable amount of shares in her holding. I'm not sure what numbers you're looking for exactly. I am open to suggestions however.

Umm....like my own thoughts? I'm not good enough with words to make this not sound a little bit rude. I personally like you(and everyone here) lots, so this is really just an assessment on the characters.

You clearly put lots of work in them and that's good. I personally prefer male characters, but these characters respectively? I don't see a reason why Gina would WANT to help them with anything. She's almost certainly going to be enemies. I'm not really for working against player characters but like...I honestly just can't see why she'd want to help a corrupt ceo or a terminator killing robot.

That is not to say, I don't like the terminator expy. As a player, I appreciate it.

But like for my own character? There's just literally no reason she'd be trying to help them.

It's your character though, so just play what feels right for you. It's important to have fun in your own way and all. If you feel like you'd enjoy Valerie, then just play her because that's what you want to do. There's no point in playing a game stuck with a character you yourself aren't going to enjoy. Focus on your own fun, however you want to do that.
