Jack's aunt huffed as she started the car. "As if you didn't get enough money for that toy of yours." She drove the car out of the parking lot and into the main street. "Home?" She asked.
His aunt June nodded and started diving in the direction. "Turn to Lempek street to avoid traffic jams." The pleasant female voice of navigation spoke, the avatar of white-haired Virtual navigation disappeared to show the new road. June turned the steering wheel, taking the new road. "So, what do you have in plans? Hunting for virginity of your classmates? Seducing their mothers?"
“Offer...wouldn’t say that. She isn’t exactly the mastermind schemer she thinks. I’m not dropping the case yet. Keep on it. Anyway, it’s been a right mess today, so I need to nap before it will I think about my career.” Pushing her way out, she found the nearest officer waiting outside, getting him to tale the cuffs off her and after, she decided she’d have to go find a place she could watch the tape. Police netrigs were useful but she didn’t want any ties to anything using her own terminal if there were plants inside the station. There was...she wouldn’t tell him what it was for. But he’d have some kind of set up for his school work in programming. She didn’t plan on getting him involved, but he might be an option, to borrow his set up so she could watch privately. Since she still needed a phone like a normal person to place calls, she brought hers up and let it ring, hoping he might pick up. @Tjf
The elevator door's opened - it was not the garage yet - and a woman entered. Alexey recognised her as his neighbour - Sofia. "Ah, Alexey! How are you doing?" She asked. He knew her as an office worker for one of the corporations.
The lawyer sighed, but nodded her head, somewhat resigned. After she was left alone, Taylor called Jack. @Tjf Before Jack could comment on his aunt's comment, his phone ringed.
"Hey kiddo. I kind of got a favor to ask. You have your netrig for school, don't you? I kind of need one to use for a case and I don't want want to get caught using the ones in the department. It's not to worry about, really. It takes way too long to explain." As much as she was tempted to start badgering him with questions about how the program was going and everything, it really wasn't the time for her to be doing that. "If it's a bad time, I'll figure something else out. I've pulled through worse...maybe."
"No, no, not at all, mum. I'm more than happy to help." Jack agrees enthusiastically. "My bike broke down, but Auntie June gave me a ride. We're in the car now, so we can meet you, if you want." His voice becomes a little uncertain. "You're okay, mom, right? You're not putting yourself in any unnecessary danger?" For all his youth, Jack kind of sounds like a worried mother himself, inquiring as to Taylor's well being.
"I should be asking you that." Hearing his account of his day didn't fill her with confidence as she waited in traffic. "Later, I want to see how bad it is. Sis, is with you? You want to put it on speaker, then?" Hearing her sister was with him was somewhat better as she thought on it. "Everything's fine. It's already been established that I'm innocent. Some co-workers of mine had a disagreement and they wanted me gone. The boss is aware of the situation, but I still got to sort out a few things with it." She was underselling the entire thing. "Basically, I need a netrig so I can scan evidence and it's not really safe to use mine at work with everyone watching. It'd be helpful if we could meet up, but I'm not sure if I'll have time for us to really do anything today. Maybe time to eat somewhere. My brain is...I'm still going to need a little bit to unwind to properly focus before I get back out there."
@majus Jack puts the phone on loudspeaker so June can hear what Taylor is saying. June can see the young man's expression grows dark. "They what? They tried to frame you? Motherfuckers!" He calms down for a moment. "Where do you want to meet, at home? A restaurant?"
"I'm not happy about it, no. Probably at home. I do my best work when I'm focused. I need to check out this video first before I decide on any plans for the evening, though you two, can hang out yourselves if I can't come." @majus
Valerie gave the doctor a coy smile. "Oh I don't know about that." she mused "If there's one thing I've learned it's never to bet against myself. I'm quite sure I'll be around for quite some time." "But if it's incentive you need..." Valerie sunk to her knees and gently parted the other woman's legs. "I'm sure I can give you a very convincing argument." she said with a raised, playful, eyebrow.
"Okay then, mom, be safe. I love you." Jack signs off the message, looking to June to see if his aunt has anything to add.
@Tjf Jun shook her head. "If you need outside help, let m know. I have gained some resources in the company, I'm sure no one will mind if- Crash! The car buckled as a van hit it pushing it to the pavement. Bang! Something hit front window. Ratatatata! June cursed as hail of bullets started splashing against the car. She restarted the engine and started moving the car forward. Thankfully the car was mostly bulletproof - one of the perks working for the corporation. But, unlike her, Mikael didn't have his belt on - when the van crashed into them, he was thrown violently against the door. @Auraicide Suddenly the exchange was interrupted by a loud crash. Taylor easily recognized sounds of gunshots coming from speakers, and her sisters cursing.
The doctor put her hand on Valerie's cheek. "Hmm... convincing argument you, say. How about... You try to convince me and - if you don't blow up, I might consider changing the juices needed for reset... for my own."
"June? June? Dammit." Not getting a proper response, her instincts were to ready her own pistol. A little risky to do while driving but, needed. "Where are you now, what street? What are you close by?"
Jack flashes with pure rage, not the anger of being tossed around, but at the fact that his beloved aunt has been placed in peril. "MOTHERFUCKERS!" He screams, in a rage, remotely accessing the van's steering. He hacks his way through the vehicle's defences, before he sends the van hurtling into a concrete wall.
