"Your grandfather had me do information gathering a few times. Your father didn't, but I still had to keep up with a lot of scheming behind his back. I learned a few things." She took a pause for a moment. "If it helps, your grandfather never asked any of the staff for that for himself."
"Human men are weak to elven women. And orcs. And gnomes, even. I have the face. I have the body. There's only one type I can't land." She said it with confidence as they walked. But she froze a bit, realizing she'd be dealing with exactly that.
Other elves.
Seeing the man at the desk, she could already get the sense he was probably the type who wouldn't trust her. She still didn't actually understand the meaning of the elf aversion to purple. She doubted there was many left who even actually know. She probably wouldn't find out from this man either.
"Apologies, sir. I'm Meira, maid, bodyguard, retainer, for Lady Celeste Josphenine Madenguarde." She then gestured over to the blond. It was better to let her do the talking here. Even here, someone in his position probably had to know nobility's name and he wouldn't be able to go up against her. "My lady wishes to request the release of a man you guard had taken into custody."
She kept polite, but to the point. She didn't bother with too much excessive flattery. It wouldn't work on his type. She doubted being the purple haired witch even mattered. She found it doubtful he really liked anybody. It wasn't as if she was ugly either. Maybe that played a role? Perhaps with her color, and her looks, she was so pretty it was scary? Or scarily pretty?
She didn't know. She had total confidence in her breasts and her face. But she almost had to wonder if that played into the problem, like she was some sort of entity that should not be. She couldn't say.
Still, it was probably best to just let Celeste do most of the talking.
