You are part of the crew of an exploration ship belonging to the Union of Federated Dimensions, one of the rivals of the United Nations: A.E.C. You have been scouting new universes for potential colony worlds: ones where there are no sapient lifeforms occupying the sol system, and you have found one that is a viable target, while it lacks an 'Earth' like planet, in it's place being an asteroid belt, instead Venus is a verdant jungle paradise with a large moon and seas similar to earth, and at least as far as you can tell no intelligent life. You, about 200 other crew members, 70% female, and a 'Standard Colony Module' have been set down on the edge of one of Venus's seas and left behind by the ship while it reports the news of the find. 12 other identical colony modules have been scattered at advantageous locations across the planet, who you are supposed to work with cataloging native lifeforms and developing the world: as well as serving as potential bolt holes in the event of invasion. The ship will be incommunicado for about 3 months: you have to survive on your own till then... This would be a Mixed-Sexual/Normal RPG about survival on an alien world, with room for non human characters and members of every conceivable ethnicity and religion, though there is one small yet also major difference from our own world among most of the worlds of the Union: 13 is considered a LUCKY number because that was the number of Christ's final disciple: Saint Judas Iscariot. The game would be slower than most on this site: people would be expected to restrain themselves to one post per day, but that makes it perfect for those of us who want to participate in a forum game and still contribute to the main site too... Anyone else think this sounds like a fun game?
Sure why not. I think I might try to revive my character from the previous game you started, but with some minor tweaks.
Welcome aboard, and glad to have you! We need at least one more person before I will start here, but I will keep this offering open until that individual shows up.
My original concept was a character that is genderless and then changes gender as it decides upon a potential mate. Would that still work for this story? I'm thinking instead of using Taoist abilities now, go with techno-telepath. I recently made a character called Loki for my own game that had two drones for weapons. They had hard-light shields that could reform when broken but needed to recharge, and used automatic guns for offense. This character would have some cybernetics so that it could plug into computer systems and basically do a dive into them. It controls the drones through a chip in its brain. Thinking this character would be better with machines and computers than people, so really shy.
Alright, my characters name shall be Ashley (Since it can be male or female) "Firefly" Allens. (I've already name-dropped Nathan Fillion in my own game.... He's fucked Dahlia twice now.)
I'm considering giving this a try, especially if it is limited to a post a day, but I'm having a bit of trouble coming up with a suitable character (since I usually prefer fantasy). What sort of powers would a psychic have in this world?
Well, that depends on the nature of their powers: a 'psychic' could have pyro-kenisis, cryo-kenisis, electro-kenisis, tele-kenisis, telepathy: but don't feel limited by that image: this is an 'AEtherverse' story: you can be an elf, orc, troll: wizard, cleric, bard: anything from a fantasy game could also be used here, except with them having gotten taken up by a high tech culture.
So will something like this work? Name: Celesta Description: A hermaphrodite woman from an alien race with a difficult-to-pronounce name, so most humans have started calling them "space elves" due to their pointed years. Has weak telepathy and telekinesis powers. Her telepathy allows her to sense other living creatures nearby while her telekinesis allows her to lift and move objects with weight of at most 50 kilos (usually less than that because the heavier the object the more effort it takes to move it). Hopes to be able to improve her psychic powers (and possibly learn new ones). During her free time she likes to chase after pretty girls. Celesta has purple skin and dark purple, almost black, eyes, big breasts and a nice ass. She thinks her cock is average, but she has never actually bothered to check.
Alright then here is my starting character sheet: Ashley "Firefly" Allens Age: 21 Sex: Neutral (Currently has B cups and a pussy-like orifice for using the restroom. Lacks penis or clit since this isn't an actual sexual organ yet.) Race: Tengu (Their actual race is Tenagu, but the name was changed to Tengu by other races) Height 4 foot 8 inches Class: Technopath Cybernetics: Full dive capabilities through cable link, Minor wireless control of computers and technology through mental chip, two bonded attack/defense drones due to another specialized chip. Hair: Shoulder length red hair. Eyes: Green Ear: Right ear pierced all the way up with onyx studs. Ashley's race was first discovered by a man of Japanese descent. When he saw how short they were and how many of them had some form of body piercing, he mistakenly pronounced their Tenagu as Tengu. The name stuck and has been used every since. The race is born with no gender. Usually the change to male or female is done between the ages of 15 and 30 when they find a suitable mate. When they came into contact with other races, the gender change became less conscious and more to reflect mating with their prospective mate. Once a gender is chosen, it can't be changed without major surgery. Ashley is shy and generally feels safer talking to people through forums and chat rooms instead of face to face. Because Ashley has a very feminine face and slight breasts, both very common for the still genderless of the Tengu race, many refer to Ashley with feminine pronouns. Ashley doesn't mind being called "She" or "Her" but few people are actually close enough to realize that Ashly is a Tengu other than by her size and ear piercings. The people who are close to Ashley often call her "Firefly" because of her beautiful red hair. She has cybernetics that allow her to sense computers and internet capabilities and tap into them with some minor capability through a chip in her brain, while another chip lets her control two flying drones that can be used for offense or defense. She is a cyber warfare specialist who can use another cybernetic to plug her brain into a computer terminal for a full dive into the systems. (Think Ghost in the Shell.) When engaged in hand to hand combat, she has a fan similar to the Japanese folding fans. This one is made of a durable, but light weight metal that can be used for bludgeoning or cutting with the fan portion. She hides it, but on her left ankle is a tattoo of a butterfly.
Sounds great, make an introduction in the main game thread and then await the other player's input and the start of a new day.
New and existing applicants/players are requested, though not required, to fill out the following form for their characters, which is further explained bellow if not adopting an existing character, which is preferred: largely for reasons of my own vanity. Name: Rank/Title: Race: Gender: Abilities: Equipment: Training: History: Appearance: On to the explanation: Name: (Fairly self explanatory... Try using names from non-European cultures.) Rank/Title: (Ranks follow those of STAR TREK more or less, starting at ''Yeoman" and "Senior Yeoman" for 'enlisted' personnel then going through the following progression for officers: Cadet, Ensign, Midshipman, and Lieutenant Junior Grade: [only for officer trainees], Lieutenant, Lieutenant-Commander, Commander, 'Staff Officer' Which are actually called in normal conditions by various titles such as 'Science Officer', 'Ship's Physician', 'Chief of Security', 'Gunnery Officer', 'Chief of Engineering', 'First/Second Officer' and so forth: [Who though all technically the same rank have a set of conditional situations in which they out rank each other or under rare and specific circumstances even the Captain, such as if the Ship's Physician can prove the Captain's judgment has been mentally or emotionally compromised.], then Captain, Commodore, Vice Admiral, Admiral, Rear Admiral, and Admiral of the Fleet. No one higher ranked than 'Commander' was left with the initial colony and no one above 'Trainee' status would be sent on a scouting mission. 'Titles' can be just about anything: from Mister/Mr, to Reverend/Rev., to 'Sir' or 'Dame', as several constituent dimensions are constitutional monarchies. All however are under the authority of the 'officers' of the Star Navy until a full civilian government is set up for the planet.) Race: (Just about anything you can imagine. Name of Race and rough description: Min 3 sentences, max 3 paragraphs.) Gender: (Including Males, Females, Hermaphrodites, Genderless individuals, 'Third' genders such as a species where one gender produces 'eggs', another sperm, and the third provides the egg/uterus the baby grows in, or must copulate with the other two to activate their ability to get pregnant/inseminate.) Abilities: (What are your character's Gifts/Talents? Min 1 sentence, Max 1 paragraph.) Equipment: (Gear you typically carry, appropriate to a space opera era civilization. Min 3 sentences, max 3 paragraphs.) Training: (What has your character learned? Min 1 sentence, Max 1 paragraph.) History: (From an AEtherverse style world: Min 1 sentence, max 3 paragraphs.) Appearance: (Again, just about anything you can imagine, Min 3 sentences, max 3 paragraphs. The four branches of the Union of Federated Dimensions' "Star Navy" are "Engineering/Technical", "Science/Medical", "Combat/Security", and "Interdisciplinary/Command" denoted by Yellow, Blue, Red, and Green stripes on the shoulders of their uniforms and each rank (See Above) is denoted by a set of braids affixed to the sleeves and pips or badges attached to the collars, Circular or Square Badges for enlisted personnel, black pips on a white stripe for trainees decreasing in number as they move up in rank and gold or silver hollow or solid pips for full officers increasing by a 'half-step' each rank up to commodore when they instead are surrounded by a vertical bar and increase by full steps up to 'Admiral of the Fleet' at which point it becomes a solid vertical bar of gold or silver.) In all these cases one 'paragraph' is considered to consist of 3 to 7 concise yet complete sentences on the same general subject.
