As she watches the beast Valerie remembers something she read long ago in a book, about manticores being related to sphinxes and thus being vulnerable to riddles. She tries to come up with a good riddle. Well, I could try the riddle I had to answer in order to reach Jungun... but it seems too easy. Or I could try... nah, that one's too easy as well – back home even children had no trouble with it. Maybe... Her thoughts are interrupted by the dwarf charging at the beast and trying to get Robert's forces to do the same. Ah, forget it. Let's just kill the beast – riddles are not my thing, anyway.She concentrates on the beast and its rider and chats a few arcane words, casting another simple spell. It is the opposite of the speed spell she used earlier, when fighting the chimeras. The target of this spell will be slowed down for several seconds, moving and attacking slower than normal. It's not a lot, but hopefully it's enough.... The brunette thinks as she watches the battle rage on.
as tregus attacks the manticore, he feels a boost in speed and breaks through the ranks of orcs and when he does, he sees a gaint arrowlike thing come from it and hit ir knocking him down....as he attacks the manticore he realizes that the knights are already fighting it...there is a man holding a glowing sword holding its faces attention
"IR!!!!" Tregus scream jumping of his companion. He must check, if bear is still alive, but he can't stay with Ir. The battle have not yet won, and if he want to save Ir, he must end it. He wip face of blood and tears and stand ready. Dwarf rise his axe and shield, ready to defend his pet. He shot loud to air. "Aurora!!! Come to me!!! "Tregus doesn't care how She will do it, she simply must do it. There is no other option.
As Valerie observes the battle she decides to do nothing and catch her breath for a few moments. Between her elven companion shooting at the orcs, the dwarf and his bear attacking them from one side, and Robert and his men attacking from the other side, the battle seems to be going well for the moment (apart from the bear getting wounded, that is). So the brunette decides to conserve her strength for the future battles, or in case enemy reinforcements arrive. Thus she just grips her flaming sword tightly, ready to engage any orcs that try to attack her and Downpour, and keeps watching. When the dwarf shouts for his elven companion Valerie briefly wonders what the busty elf can do.
as tregus yells for aurora the elf cocks her head and swiftly runs towards the dwarf jumping over the orcs and landing behind IR an slowly starts to tend to the bears wound, as valerie waits she hears a voice from behind her..."Im out of arrows" as the manticore switchs targets to the dwarf you hear a chuckle from the red being on top as he lets loose a fireball at roberts troops killing quite a few of them
Crap. I guess it was too much to expect the battle to keep going well for long... “Can you use any more spells? If you can, focus on the manticore's rider.” Valerie replies to the elf and then follows her own suggestion. She points at the red being, trying to aim for his head and neck, and chants a few arcane words. A sharp bolt of ice appears at the tip of her finger and shoots at the target. She immediately repeats the chant, shooting a second and then a third bolt. While each bolt on its own is weak, a few of them should do some damage, especially if they hit a vital area.
"Save him! I have to throw out trash!" Dwarf shout to Aurora, and scream to take all attetion of manticore. "Come on motherfucker, you have no idea what can do compination of your balls and my axe!!" Tregus charge with shield protect his up, and attack front leg of manticore, in the knee. Next step aside to dodge repet of monster.
as the beast gets hit in the leg it roars in pain as tregus's enhanced strength cuts through its tough skin...the manticore launches several poison tips at tregus...one of which will hit him. downpour replies : yes...but they are more close range spells like the one I used in the tavern so ill have to get closer. downpour draws his sword and runs toward the orc horde valerie hits the imp making it fall off the manticore and leaving it open to attack ir is healed by aurora but is too injured to help fight for now
“Good luck!” Valerie calls after the elf, then considers her next move. She could join the fight... but it is already rather chaotic, and after fighting the chimeras she's not in hurry to get in another melee fight. That leaves her with a choice: Attack the manticore with more spells, as the beast is the largest, and thus easiest to hit, target, or support her allies with spells. Ultimately she opts for the latter. Again the brunette starts chanting arcane words. This time the spell is a bit more powerful than what she has used so far, and thus the chant is a bit longer. As soon as she finishes the spell barely-visible spheres of white light surround Downpour, the dwarf, the dwarf's bear, and the elf. The spheres act as weak protective barriers that will absorb a single hit before shattering (though if the attack is weak enough, it might take more than one hit). Robert and his forces have been left out of the spell's chosen area of effect, as the greater the number of affected people the more the caster is drained. Naturally, due to not being close enough, Valerie is also not protected. Even with just four people affected the spell is rather draining. Combined with all the previous spells Valerie has cast so far, as weak as they were, it leaves her somewhat exhausted and panting lightly. I'll just... catch my breath a bit... hopefully the battle will end soon.
the blow about to hit tregus bounces off and then it slightly dims...Downpour lets loose a magical attack creating a path made out of unconcois orcs downpour rushes to the side of tregus and says "wanna take it in one hit?" as you see tregus and downpour face off against the manticore valerie...you see robert rally his remaining troops and charge after the small imp
Finally things seem to be looking up again... somewhat, at least... Valerie thinks as she sees the result of her spell. Following a piece of advice an adventurer gave her some time ago in regards to prolonged battles she takes a quick look around – first behind her, then above her, just in case someone tries to sneak up on her – and then returns her attention to the battle (assuming that she finds no danger). Having caught her breath a bit the brunette decides to go and join the battle. With Robert's forces chasing the imp and the elf-dwarf combo facing the manticore she chooses to engage and finish off the remaining orcs, seeing as most of them are unconscious and the rest are likely weakened. Gripping her flaming sword tightly she tries to find a suitable target – either a lone orc that has not noticed her, or an orc attempting to attack the elf and bear. Once she finds a target she quietly gets up and tries to sneak up on her chosen opponent for a – hopefully deadly – attack from behind.
as valerie sees an orc soldier trying to walk around the fight she quickly runs up behind it stabbing it causing it to erupt in flames, the other orcs smell the burned flesh and hold on to it if as if they are starving, it seems they are trying to live off our dead bodies
Noticing the orcs' interest in the burning body that used to be an orc, Valerie makes a quick decision and kicks the still-burning orc towards the rest of them, using him as a distraction while she looks for another target.
the orcs begin to eat their own brothers flesh, valerie sees an opening to get through as the orcs appear to be slaughtering each other
Noticing the opening Valerie takes the chance and goes through, heading for where the elf and the bear are. On the way she keeps an eye out for any other easy targets she could take out.
Tregus can't stop now. He started feel bit of tried after using too much battle mode, so he must attack before he lost mind. Nows he attack other front leg of manticore, to make her fall down, and when it hapen he will hit her in the neck. He doesn't need to cut head off, he have to simply kill manticore. He was ready to defending himself by shield.
as tregus tries to attack the other leg he finds that the manticore is ready and dodges.....valerie arrives at the manticore
Tregus noticed that somebody is after manticore, so he need to distracted monster. "Hey ugly and stupid piece of shit! You Can't hit ewen a snowman!!" Tregus use his shield to Block attack or dodge something else. He must take all attetion of manticore.
the maniticore looks at tregus and roars the rest of the orcs flea in terror as do some knights (rmember tregus can be invulneranle for one fight a day)it launches at tregus misses and attacks again trying to bite him in half, tregus sees the high elf beside him begin a slow chant
Valerie sees that the manticore and the dwarf are focused on each other while Downpour begins chanting a spell. She also notices the orcs (and some of the knights) flee the battle. After quickly considering her options she decides to make use of this chance and moves to the side of the beast, then aims for its back leg, trying to slash it and then pull back before the beast can retaliate.
