Ivyari's mother nods in her direction, motioning for her to come closer. "We have new orders." She said seriously.
"Mhm~" Anai moaned as her daughter kissed her passionately. "Doesn't change the fact, that you want power." her lips quirk in a smirk, as she rolls over taking Taia with her, the younger woman was now on her. "On top." She said with a smirk. "Besides, it might be necessary for me to step down to palate the Romans." Anai said as her hands started moving along Taia's sides.
The young woman smiled hearing Quintus say that. She gave him a quick kiss and pressed her body against his in a hug. "You want me to poison her?" She asked in an eager tone. Quintus could tell she wanted to please him.
"There are several secret passages to and from the city - quite a few of them were used in raids against your camp. Then they served as ambush stages, where your fellow soldiers were slaughtered." Maat said as she moved through the fields. "Will it be guarded? Hopefully, no."
"Governor's daughter, Taia. But it was on orders of governor herself." the chief answered. "According to her, there will be an attempt to open up the gates, staged by some nobles. We are to ambush them at night, and capture the leaders."
Ivyaria nod for that, knowing the treat is serios here. "So, we have to use some small squad to this mission, too much Amazons and their would realise it is a trap." Ivyaria tought for the moment. " I will take a place on the top of the buildings, to shoot arrows mother."
Rena snorted. "There is no such thing as too much of an Amazon. There can be too many, but never too much!" The women around laughed. "So, you want to take part in that?" Her mother asked. "Very well. Korina, you are in charge. I will take charge of the gates - we will have them surrounded." She said.
As they near the shore, Aulus sees the shapes of the Roman fleet off shore, the dozens of floating hulks illuminated in the moonlight. Between them and him is a small fishing village, just a tiny dock and a few shacks scattered across a circular area. The village, though not impressive, isn't as abandoned as Maat said. Aulus sees figures walking around in the village center, and hears their voices travelling across the ground. It's a bit hard to tell what they're saying, but he gets the sense that whoever they are, they're not soldiers.
Aulus ducked down out of sight and observed the people in the village, 'You think we can get past them to the tunnel without being seen? Are those the villagers living here?'
"Somehow, I don't imagine you going quietly into retirement." She reaches up to grope Anai's breasts.
Pesca turns his head so that her lips kiss his cheek, rather than his lips. "No, daughter." He chuckles warmly. "If she dies in my camp, then I'll be called incompetent in Rome for letting it happened. She has powerful friends. Besides, if she dies, then I have no way of knowing what she's up to."
Maat moves up beside Aulus. "I'm not sure... Perhaps." Agorix crouches and takes a closer look at the figures. "Those aren't the villagers. Look at the way they're going in and out of the buildings. These guys are looters, searching the village for anything the refugees had to leave behind."
'Hmm, not really our business right now. They should be busy looking for valuables, let's try and get past them to the tunnel unseen,' Aulus said to the two women, motioning for Maat to continue quietly, as he had no idea where this tunnel was supposed to be.
Heading down, the three of them manage to sneak their way down into the village, Maat heading inside a tiny storage shack. Lifting up a false floor, she exposes a cavity headed down. Before they can head down, though, a drunken looter stumbles into the shack.
Spotting the looter, Aulus moved to smash the guys head against the door frame, hoping it would look like he stumbled and hit his head if one of his friends found him lying there.
Drunk, the looter has barely registered that Aulus isn't one of his comrades, before the Roman is on him, smashing his skull against the doorframe and turning it red. The looter slides down the doorway, and there's no sound but some shouting outside as two looters argue over some plunder.
Aulus went to the hidden passage, speaking to Maat and Agorix, 'Let's go and hide the entrance. He should be out for a good while and I doubt he'd put two and two together.'
