Aulus returned the salute and then went to his unit, telling them they did well and dismissing them. He then turned to Agorix, smiling at her, 'Thank you, I couldn't have finished this mission so smoothly without your help. And we probably wouldn't have caught Derva without your help either.'
While talking Aulus went to his tent and stashed his equipment, he chuckled, 'I'm sure she'd find a way to get over it pretty quickly. I can only imagine what she's doing with the general.' 'What about you? Any men in your life?' Aulus asked her, while they went to get some wine.
"I think you'd find reality not as titillating as your imagination if you went to see her and the general." Agorix chuckles, as she accepts some wine. "As for me? No, not really. It's a bad idea to sleep with your own men, and the only others around here are Roman soldiers and slaves. Most Roman soldiers are asses, and slaves either can't say yes or can't say no, depending on their owner, neither of which is particularly attractive." She shrugs, and skulls her drink.
Aulus drank some wine as well, relaxing after the mission, he chuckled, 'Well... maybe most of the Romans just don't like your feisty attitude, Agorix.'
"Maybe." She takes another drink. "Or maybe they don't like a barbarian who doesn't 'know her place'. I tend to find that some men quite like how feisty I can be." She grins.
'I suppose they tried to put you in your place and failed?' Aulus chuckled, taking another swig, 'They do? In what way? Not that I dislike it, you're a breath of fresh air compared to most women I've met.'
"Let's just say that with me, it's rarely boring. Besides, when I like a man, I show it in the kind of way that leaves no doubts. Some guys are put off by that much directness, but others..." She grins, and gives a chuckle when he calls her a breath of fresh air. "What, the women in Rome are too prim and proper for your taste?"
'I've never been very fond of formalities and as a son of a big name among Roman nobility, that's mostly the type you meet,' Aulus shrugged, 'Most men and women in Rome care more about who my father is than who I am. I'm still to young to spark some interest by myself there, I suppose.' Aulus chuckled, 'You're more like a buddy, not like some Roman noble girl to afraid to ruin her hair, which her body slave spent an hour doing up.'
"Whereas I couldn't care less who your father is." She chuckles. "I see. Oh, I'm your 'buddy', now?" Agorix gives a teasing smile.
'Okay, maybe I wouldn't go that far, we only just met yesterday,' Aulus smiled back, laughing, 'But I do enjoy having a drink with you.'
"As much as it pains me to say it about a Roman, I enjoy it as well." She taps her cup against his, enjoying the taste of the alcohol.
'A spoiled Roman noble's brat on top of that,' Aulus laughed, as they drank together, 'You're not so bad for an unwashed barbarian yourself.'
"Oh?" Anai smiled at her daughter as they walked. She took her under her arm. "Do tell." She asked curiously.
"Careful..." She says warningly, before smirking. "Nah, you can drink with me any time." She finishes her cup.
'What? You can't deny your last bath was a while ago, it's a rare luxury in the field,' Aulus chuckled, 'I'd like to do this again some time too. Are you heading back to check on Maat?'
She rolls her eyes at the joke, and nods at the question. "Yeah. I'm not sure if she'll have finished with the general, yet though, so I might just go back to her tent and wait."
"I know." He nods. "She's sent you to assassinate me, and probably someone else once she learns that her plan failed."
'Hmm, can I come with to make the waiting less boring or do you have enough of me for today?' Aulus smiled.
