As a lore slut, I'm frothing at the mouth of learning about these three new locations even though Yulia will only get to one. Now would probably be a good time to update my notes. I don't think Hess is the one who got Yulia, she spent far more time in the '''tender care''' of The Rack than the others, so it was probably the source of her infection. That would also explain Cherchiel being the only other party member affected if it was using random poisons against everyone, she just had a stroke of bad luck. Assuming the magical item maintaining the curse is inside or near the Temple, I think it'd be worth it to look around more before we leave. Yulia can probably just brute force her way through this problem by using Identify on things. And since we'll be running around the Temple, we're liable to run into The Rack again, so our first stop should be the kitchen to grab some cooking oil we can use to grease up The Rack to prevent that rolling attack. Or something similar. As for a connection between the Fangs, the curse, and The Rack... I can think of two possibilities. One is that The Tower created The Rack to take advantage of the curse and ensure it was inflicted on The Chosen. The other is that The Rack was created by The Fangs for some purpose and it was upgraded by the Tower when it became a floor boss (like the Directive). Given their track record, I doubt they could create it on their own, but maybe they found some kind of sponsor with access to this kind of tech, like through Bai'zebul or maybe something connected to one of the three eastern locations (presumably the one we'd be going to given the nature of The Tower). (Also, no worries on delays Lehe, hope the trip goes well!)
We used identify on Hess with no indication she is the source of the curse, but we can try removing her from the temple if she is willing to follow us.
You are allowed a break, considering how long you have kept it up no one can complain. And the thing you forgot was adding Hess to the (long) list of companions. Right, let's get Hess armed, what spells and weapons are your forte? Also, did we ever identify Ash's quiver? If there is anything you want to try to establish trust, try it now. And I remember that we can convert potions to water, can we also convert water to potions or is that pushing it too much? Let's try east (mummies), we haven't been there yet so we might as well have a look. Keep an eye on you thirst and temperature, hopefully we won't need to try more of my crazy cooling ideas.
I'm about ready to personally throw hands with that one guard, he's getting on my nerves. For now, I say we head east and discover what the last location is. Hess should be able to tell us which of the three potential options it is once we get there, as well as make a guess on how likely the Fangs are there. One other thought, since there is apparently a clear border where the curse ends. Could we circle the Temple, marking where the effects of the curse end? If we end up with a circle, calculating the center would give us a good idea of where the cursed artifact is. If not, we can head east to see if we get more info.
Oh, I wasn't expecting Hess to be so...accommodating Curses, that throws my sexy interrogation plans out of the water! Yeah, I'm fairly ambivalent about which direction to check out so east is fine by me
We could try the circling. At worst it conferms that the cursed item is in the temple. I agree on checking the east now. That way we at least know what we are dealing with.
https://chyoa.com/chapter/The-Last-Stand.1468619 this is where she was added, I think it is the point where she got some actual fighting power? Or at least I can't think what else changed there.
Newest Chapter: The mention of another entrance will not actually affect the run in anyway and is just flavour.
I guess there is nothing we can do to prepare before we know more. So before going in ask how many of the fangs are in the pyramid and ask why they are so eager for bloodshed in their tomb.
Don't worry Hess, I don't plan on asking you to fight but I do like planning for as many things as I can think of, such as: Let's make some water and turn it into potions! A dozen or so of each type should be good, distribute two to everyone and extra for Yulia because she can't use magic on herself. I would quite like to ask if they know why the Fangs were allowed to stay. Otherwise everyone armed and armored and let's go in.
We kinda dragged Hess along simply due to her being the first lamia we met, it'd probably be best for her to just focus on defending herself if a fight breaks out, it'd be unfair to ask her to go above and beyond her role as a guide. That said, what can she tell us about the Tomb of the Restless before we step in? What are we dealing with if we end up fighting them in addition to the Fangs, and does she have any idea why they'd work with the Fangs? That said, our job remains the same regardless of what we find out: walk in and take down the Fangs, or force them to end the curse.
This definitely could be a trap, but it's also the best lead we have. Since it's a tomb we probably should expect a decent amount of booby traps. Isalia make sure to keep your eyes peeled.
I know what we forgot to ask about. The local floor monster. Maybe see if anyone here knows something? Then I vote go right, hall of shadows and ritual chamber. Ritual chamber sound like the sort of place you might make a horniness curse.
I wonder how jealous these mummies would be to find out are girls are all natural, especially Yulia? Anyways, yeah, we should ask about the floor monster. I suspect whatever it does is as unpleasant for the mummies here as the Rack's poisons and the Attractor stealing bug eggs from inside them. They probably won't mind it going down, so seems like a good idea to just ask. Honestly, we can probably ask about the Fangs as well as the Hall of Shadows we'll be passing through. Given the name, I think Yulia's light mod will come in handy, but I don't think there's much we can do besides ask a few questions and then advance.
Floor monster makes wandering around like tourists bit risky proposal. So heading towards the Fangs may well be the best course now, unless the floor monster sounds especially weak.
