The Tower of Voices Voting Thread

aaaaaaaaaaaAAAAGH! My head......... what is this place. Why do I know about a tower and... Yulia...
It's becoming clearer... though I may have to sort through the other voices, so much to catch up on.

...... Wait, That's right! YULIA BE CAREFUL! When you entered this floor the door said "Greed" which means if you take anything more than you should bad things could happen. Dreg and Dahlia both follow this theme, and I could only imagine what could have happened if you had touched that armor.
That being said I strongly recommend NOT taking any more food from Ash as that could be seen as being greedy.

I'm starting to... understand, hard to tell... more of what has transpired. Yulia I want you to succeed! You've selflessly thrown yourself to the lions to save everyone; I admire that greatly. I'll do everything I can to help you get that cure.

First things first: Yulia... how do I describe this... we can only see what you "see" or interact with consciously, everything else looks fuzzy and in a state of flux. If We/I are to help we need you to be as vigilant as possible. In our time... place... whatever this is... you've opened the door to see another door with a picture of a coin with a lock and a string hanging from the ceiling with a key attached. While I know this may be strange... and perhaps the tower is "fuzzy" for you as well until the voices "think"... but, at all times you should be scouting for any details you can give us. For instance: What are the walls made of? Does this room look different than the others. What is the string attached to on the ceiling? How big is this room? Any information you can observe will help us help you that much more.

I would advise opening the coin door. I don't recommend using Unlock on the door, it will use up your mental abilities and you already have the key. The coin being on the door makes me think it will be a treasure room of sorts. Seeing as this floor is about "Greed" I advise you only take a single item if there are any to help you get that key down from the ceiling. Once you have the key I would say get to the next floor, however you have a floor of possibilities here. For now you just need to get that key and get to the rest area.

Traps to be aware of:
Mimics, chests or items that are actually a creature. If your unsure, poke it with the rapier first.
Midas Gold, if touched may turn the user to gold or stone. This one sucks, be careful of gold...
Dragon, a fucking dragon. Just don't fight.
Gas/liquid chamber, the string and key may seal the room. Have an exit plan!

Sorry for the mental overload, it was a lot for me as well. Know that you can do this Yulia and I believe in you! Lets defeat this tower!

No worries, it works for me. Though the conceit of the story is that you are just logging onto a website to access the tower and speak to the chosen, feel free to play it however you want though, not like Yulia knows how any of it works, so she couldn't call you out on it.

Very odd that the key is floating. It seems that the trap is connected to the key itself and not the string, but we deal with that later. I am quite happy that you managed to keep the coin key. You never know when this type of stuff comes in handy.

We have a lot to go trough with Alide, after we met her last time two months ago. Yes, even taking your rests into account it should have been only a few days for you. Time clearly works different for us, so try to clear this tower before we all die of old age.

First, a question regarding the services, as I believe we all had a fundamental misunderstanding how this works.

In the rules it states

"Lastly, Alide offers healing services, these can be taken alongside either equipment or spells. She offers to either heal the chosen mentally or physically."

From my understanding that means we can get a free heal, on each floor in addition to the other options. Is that correct?

Second, Alide would you be willing to offer any services beyond the ones listed? I am mostly interested in information. I am sure Yulia could provide you with...SERVICE for that. We, as in the voices would have stuff to offer as well. Most(well some) are writers and can conjure you up an erotic story. Personally, I'm also a very skilled artist. At any rate I'm sure we could come to an understanding.

Third, Yulia try to offer Alide the coin key for a trade in. It's the key to her room, so I'm sure she wants it. Make sure to sell it how awesome and valuable it is. Ask her if she wants some of your other junk as well, while you are at it. Maybe you can trade in your soaked panties for a fresh pair.

And finally for the actual services, i choose

1xmental heal
1x utility spell

Two months since Alide! ...Well I'll take that over the headache inducing second that it took when I got here.
Don't worry about the miss, it was a small target and not life threatening. You should get some practice in though, if that had been a cyclops' eye you'd be in trouble. Cutting the rope was dangerous, but at least it tells us that it wasn't set to trigger when the weight was removed. That means it's a magic trap of sorts but of what?

Good job looking at the room, interesting that we can see the wearing of the floor. If it's stone... that's a lot of people. Maybe it's a hint for the room? Though I guess we won't know if those feet passed or failed...

Information is key, so if Alide is able to give us any information about our current troubles that would be huge.
Here's my recommendation in order of importance:
- Information on the Devil/Angel pathways, is one safer or what challenges could we expect?
- Information on the floating key, what is the trap?
- Ten foot pole (or three meter pole), so many uses and right now could help get the key.
- Support Skill, you're already a master and a buff would be helpful.
- Mental heal, you should be completely ready for anything that key room can through at you.

With that out of the way first inquire if you possess anything Alide would be interested in buying. After that I agree about trying to get information – preferably about the next floor. If that is not an option, then about the key room, and if that is a 'no' as well, then about the exit of this floor. If Alide has no information to sell, then get a utility spell. In any case get the free mental heal while you're there.
 
Repair eh? Not what I wanted but we never know when that might come in handy with your penchant for breaking things.

Alright, so that was a mental heal. That was your first H-scene right? And it was even consensual, so i suppose i can give you passing marks, so far.

I wonder if we have to take heal/ability together or if this would also work individually. I suppose we have to ask Alide next time

Are you feeling mentally healed right now? It's hard for us to tell, because we don't get a percentage unlike health or mana.

What we do know:

It does not effect your fetishes. You have still Bondage Fetish level 1
It also does not effect your buffs: You are still energized. I imagine that will be the same for debuffs, so that is something to look out for.


Next I suppose we have to tackle the key room.

Based on what Alide has told us, it appears there will be something happening once you step close to the key, or in the middle of the room. Conclusion: Do not step in the middle of the room. I revise my original assumption from moving ceiling to trapdoor.

Move towards the opposite side(towards the cooking hall) and then try to use your rapier to fish the key towards you. The room is fairly small, so I do not think the area of the trap is particularly big, still try to stay as far away as possible.


@engin: I imagine you want the whole mental health to be on the vague side, but can you tell us what it affects? Will Yulia's battle strength decrease with low mental health, or will her judgement be impaired similiar to the fetishes?
 
I thought I had explained this already, but I might not have or if I did it's possible you merely forgot and I suppose it might also be my fault for choosing to use the terms I did. Mana and Mental Health are the same thing. Mana is tied directly to the chosen's mental health.
 
First off, Yulia... you didn't make any of the choices yourself. You got all hot and flustered in front of Alide and let her (and the voices) decide for you. While you have been following our voices, it is still ultimately up to you, so make sure you do so.

I agree, trapdoor it probably is... really could have used that 10 ft pole. Oh well. So since we can see the wear and tear of the floor we might be able to see the edge of the trap. But the further away you are the better. Maybe try blasting the key with an Icicle then pick it up away from the center? If not then ya rapier it is. Could also running jump through the key to avoid the trap.

As for the Angel/Devil doors; While I know the other voices are probably going to choose the lewd Devil door, I wish to express that we may have a ways to go in the tower yet and the "...greater rewards" sounds like the way to go. Yulia, you have shown you're no pushover when it comes to combat and I believe you can do it, though another support spell would have been nice. If we take the easy route now we may hit a dead end later.

Key is bait, hmm, not that it matters, but bait is something that is usually set by a beastie, for a beastie. I'm hearing other voices suggest icicle that key down and grab it and get the fuck out, I'm all for it. Hit that string and get that thing. Out of there.

That was an awesome scene! You should definitely get healed again next time you meet Alide, Yulia.

The spell you got is also quite nice. It will make it that much easier to keep your equipment intact, reducing the need for buying new one.

Alright, time to get that key. I agree, there's a high chance of a trap door right below the key – which would explain why floor there is less worn than the rest. So stay as close as you can to the wall and try to reach the key with your rapier. No need to waste a spell on it if you can do without.

If you fail to get the key with your rapier, then try hitting it with an icicle spell.

Once you have the key it's time to leave. Be wary as you go back to Ash's room – he might not be as friendly as he was last time, just like the room with the threads was more dangerous on the way out than it was on the way in. If at all possible you should take a peek and see what he's doing before you enter the room.
 
Aww Yulia! Just go ahead and take him up on the offer! Worst that happens is that you have a little fun!
Congrats on getting the key by the way, I always knew you could do it.
If you do chicken out on seeing just what that cute boy has going for him, you can always go unlock that angel door with your hard earned key instead!

Good job getting the key, Yulia. Time to move on.

First of all, do NOT be greedy – if you try to get another buff by eating more chicken you'll likely end up getting a negative effect instead.

Second, be polite to Ash, but do not do anything with him or to him, and keep an eye on him in case he attempts to attack you. If you were on a higher floor I would expect him to try and stab you in the back, but hopefully floor 2 is a bit more merciful.

Once you have left Ash behind head for the exit and unlock the angel door – but be on the lookout for a guardian – like the skeleton on the previous floor - or any traps in the room with the stairs up.
 
I see the voices are getting impatient, I do think it's about time we leave floor 2 behind but let's take things one at a time.

I see little reason to waste any more time with Ash. Even if you where to get a buff it would sure expire by the next floor again, making it completely useless. As such I second to just move on.

Before we finally leave this floor however, remember that you are in an unique situation: There is no monster left, meaning you can spend as much time as you want on this floor. Make use of that and grind your spells up. There is no reason to not cast Icicle until the spell is maxed out and while you don't have anything to repair right now...just smash a random object and repair it.

Remember: We need to abuse this system as much as possible

Rest as needed and then proceed onwards.

As for the path ahead...this is a tough choice to make. I am leaning towards the demonic path and here is my reasoning.


You managed to overcome quite a few monsters already, but these battles where very close. It could have gone either way in all of them. You need to avoid battles as much as you can.
From Alide we can infer that the angelic path will have multiple battles, this is a path for a fighter, not for a healer.

It is true that the demonic pathway has some...concerns as well, but I view it as the lesser of the two evils.
 
I agree with training your spells. I doubt you will get many such chances, so get the most out of this one and train your spells until you have mastered them, resting - and masturbating - as needed. Only proceed when you have fully recovered, both mentally and physically.

While I see the logic in choosing the demon path, I still think the angel path is the better choice. Remember, the next one is the third floor, bu there are several more and they are likely to be more challenging than the third. If you take the easy way out now, how do you hope to make it the rest of the way up?

Besides, if you choose the demon path, you'll likely end up as a horny slut with a bunch of weird fetishes. What will your Goddess think when she sees what you have become?
 
Don't take that chicken! You're almost out of the "Greed" floor, keep it up! Once back to the main room I agree you should do a training day then recover. While I'm all for spending weeks preparing, I fear that we, the voices, may grow to old from the time difference (though sometimes it speeds up, like when you sleep... very confusing).

As for the door, I've already thrown my hat into the Angel door. Pro's and Con's of each door:
Angel:
+ Better rewards
+ Beat this and the next floors will be easier
- More fights
- Whatever happens if you lose a fight... possible death
-+ You're a cleric of sorts, maybe you'll fit in?
Devil:
+ No/Little fights
+ Will more than likely make it to the 4th floor
- Trickery
- Alide seemed worried, something about not being the same...
+- A nun running into a devil never ends well for the nun...

Do we as voices have any sway on the formation of the next floor I wonder? Sorry if this sounds lewd, but I want to avoid death... *Imagines sexy nuns who punish sinners with paddles and words*.
