Ha, ha. Squamish, you little gremlin? Afraid of some little bug's babies? Besides. Didn't collector collect only the eggs? Pretty sure killing is not part of the package. Really curious just how they'd go about yanking the eggs out, hehe.
While I am aware scorpions don't lay eggs... (I fucking love Greasytales) Oviposition is hot That being said, most species don't lay eggs inside of other creatures anyway >.>
If we do fight it, I expect it will go a lot like goregut. Plus we can take initiative for once. And if we don't then it could dramatically arrive later at a time when we would really rather it didn't (and the locals might try to take advantage of us having to fight it). So I vote to fight as we aren't likely to get a better chance and it prevents nasty surprises later. If we don't want the hive to know what happened then we can always add the scorpion to our little army, but hopefully she will make herself more useful to us alive. We don't know much about it other than it's undead and can paralyse people, healing spells might work on it. Keeping it from Yulia so she can cure paralysis from anyone that gets caught, otherwise hit it with spells. Perhaps include the lake in blizzard so the scorpion doesn't get away in the meantime.
Newest Chapter: Well that was easy... Also given the infinite mana glitch going on, I'm just not bothering to keep track of mana for Lemiel, just assume they pull the glitch any time her mana gets low... I'll keep track of mana use in actual combat, but not the basic mana drain of the zombies... Probably should also just not bother keeping track of thirst given the infinite water thing...
I have to agree with Yulia, I don't want the staff used on her. We probably should cast identify on Wasp and Scorpioness and see if there is a way to cure the paralysis and make sure the Scorpioness does not drown.
Huh. Why care about the Scorpioness? What sort of genius insight could we gain from her besides the knowledge that entire party should become her servants and let her impregnate everyone? Shove that bitch into the sand and wake up the wasp instead. She could also be a bit of a jerk but she might be more open to talking than a Scorpioness would be. With both of them awake Scorpioness could shout at the servant to shut up and we get nothing. Let wasp speak her mind without any direct orders and her handler knocked out.
I think the next step, as Remin said, should be to question the Wasp. We may need to use Puppet to help the questioning along, but it should be doable. I would like A. More info on the Hive B. More info on the spell placed on the Wasps C. Ask if they know where the Collector was sending the eggs D. Is there anything that could make the Hive want to attack the Hungry Sands? We should probably wake up the scorpion and ask her the same questions if we don't get much. But here's my thinking: we should use Puppet on the Scorpion to send her back into The Hive to rally their forces. Obviously if we just showed up ourselves and asked nicely they'd just attack us. But if one of their own says something like "The Collector was created by the Hungry Sands and that's where our eggs were sent" they might be inclined to attack. Even if we, ourselves, aren't planning an attack, it'd be to our benefit to try to trick the Hive into doing one. Either we have more allies (specifically a first wave to set off the traps and such) for when we make our move, or their base will be less defended when we go for the exit. IF this plan works, and the Hive launches their own attack on the Hungry Sands, then I would vote in favor of us attacking along with our allies. While it will absolutely be risky, I think the rewards will be worth it; this is our last chance to get stronger before we head up to the final floor and we'll need everything we can get.
I dunno sis. That's a lot of ifs and we don't even know how their society works besides scorpions being on the top. Besides, aren't those areas in really far away from each other? I don't think we could cause a war even if both sides were eager. Also would name "hungry sands" imply it feeds on captured people so if entire hive dives in it will end up make place even worse? Would mean less problems in the Hive but still, not ideal.
The group should also take the change to cool (and drink) before continuing from the oasis. Well we got a glimpse into what Hungry Sands does to people when fighting Goregut (https://chyoa.com/chapter/A-Glimpse-At-A-Possible-Future.1604784)
I am aware what it is but we have no clue how it works. We might easily shoot ourselves in the foot by acting recklessly.
I'm genuinely surprised there wasn't some sort of drawback with mana infused water Also, classic "Final Fantasy that one enemy boss for which the instant death actually works" strats Most of the girls are overheating, so I like you all to drink some water Did we get anything from our new Zombie or is it a case were zombifying the victims leaves no rewards? Also since we collected the collector we should see just how effective he still is as a zombie. Can he undo the hypnosis? Can he still hypnotize people? There is also the small issue with the instant death, it would suck if we actually end up dying by accident. But as long as we keep his face hidden that shouldn't be a problem. Anyways, it's time for sexy interrogation Let's first ask the Wasp and see what she has to say. Then let's do the same with the scorpion Also someone ought to get the scorpion on land before she drowns. Speaking of drowning...how about some breathplay by forcing them underwater? Provided of course they don't answer our questions
I agree with Gambio here. Cooling off while we are here is very important. Not tracking water (on the basis of just drinking regularly) seems reasonable. I'm sorry for breaking those systems, even if it is very convenient.
I think we should let Scorpioness live, for Yulia's sake, at least. She will feel better about herself if she can help Scorpioness instead of killing her, even if we at first have to get Marten to make a set of shackles to keep her safely.
I'm going to speak directly to Yulia: Please don't do this. I don't believe killing is wrong, but you do. We have other ways to deal with this scorpion, and even if we didn't it would be worth the risk to leave her. Your journey through the Tower has changed you, that much is undeniable. There have been times where you were tricked, where you made mistakes, and where you fell short. When you leave, there will be things you regret and even resent about your time in the Tower. But have all the changes been bad? You've formed bonds and relationships here, and you've learned the truth of your origin. You've so far managed to maintain your independence from the two factions the Tower has pulled you towards, and here and now you have the chance to rise above what the Tower is forcing you to be. Look at Cherchiel: Since meeting you, she's been able to see the world and grow beyond the role of gatekeeper assigned to her by the Tower Above; and you'll be able to show her your own world after all of this. Look at Goma: You saved her from Lumberer and Ash Meddai's cruelty, and she'll be returning home to her child with Isalia after this. Look at Isalia: On top of avenging her by killing Knocker, she has a whole life with Goma to look forward to now. Look at Lemiel: She was supposed to be sacrificed in order for your journey to continue, but you fought to protect her and now she's here by your side and worried about your wellbeing. Look at Lri: She'll take the strength she'd gained on this journey and use it to go back to her home floor and work to make it better. Look at Maple: Without you, she'd be sealed away without even knowing about the passage of time or the fate of Del. Look at Sally: She captured an entire floor due to her fear of death, but thanks to you confronting her she and Maple will be able to face Del's fate and the future of their home. Even Talwa: She was misguided but well-intentioned, and she can work to make up for the mistakes she made as the leader of the Fangs now that she knows the truth. You have to look at the entirety of your journey through the Tower, good and bad, and make a choice here. When the choice is entirely in your hands, will you do what the Tower seems intent on forcing of you? Or will you rise above it?
Ah, shame that the Collector lost his power We might be able to use him as a bluff in the Hive. But I'm not expecting it to carry us the entire way. Also, I just want to make sure that the Collector didn't leave anything behind. There seems to be something more going on with the Scorpions to create this much animosity. Well, I believe her that the Wasps aren't much better. Our best bet is still that the Tarantulas are slightly less insane then the rest of this Hive. I don't really care if we let the scorpion life or die. She's of no consequence. Do what you want, Yulia.
Ah. What a sorry mess. Looks like Yulia really has no idea how to handle these things. Surprised Scorpioness spilled her guts with how mild Yulia was. Good thing there was a pool of water to dunk insect into. Oh, you gonna cry over this? You nuked and shocked Tower knows how many guards, hostile demons and you will now have a breakdown because what? Bitch doesn't like you? She hates you because she's afraid. Afraid you might be just strong enough to knock her down a peg. And what exactly make a you bad here? "Oh no. I am bad because a cruel, merciless whore wanted a duel and I blasted her to bits." Can't you see she thought until you shocked her that she'd easily beat you? Just think for a moment how she thought fight would go. She's easily defeat you (because she's superior to you), then entire party would start begging for mercy, seeing just how powerful and godly she was. She would show her compassion by brutally raping all the girls instead of killing them. What makes you a bad person here, exactly? Humiliate the bitch, make her service your cunt till she learns to respect you.
This tower seems desperately aimed toward making the Chosen give up. The monsters and Dreg tried, battles couldn't stop Yulia. The failures, and the handful of rapacious results, tried, humiliation and shame couldn't stop Yulia. The harsh, almost torturous environment of the desert tried, thirst and heat couldn't stop Yulia. The tower is sentient, I'm pretty sure that was openly stated. It's learning that Yulia et al are one hell of a powerful and dedicated team, who will not give up their journey. So, now, it's trying to make her give up part of herself. Her morality. Her values. If Yulia kills her, or does much of anything to humiliate or harm this clearly defeated Scorpioness... the Tower is one step closer to victory. She can't allow herself to fall like this. Because once you start falling, you'll never stop until you've reached the bottom.
True. You cannot Tower just let- COME ON!!! Can you hear yourself?! What is a difference between dreg and other sentient floor monsters and this bloodthirsty slut?! What about aqua, huh?! Nobody felt bad about snuffing out that fishman piece of shit. If Scorpioness would have her way and it didn't end in game over for Yulia, things would magically be completely different. We just fry her dead. And nobody would even blink.
A bit of ruthlessness is long overdue. Right now she and the wasp know things like the collectors death and the fact we are on the warpath. That information getting back to the hive would take away options for us in the future in a potentially very hostile place. Unless she has something helpful to offer us we need to either restrain or kill both of them. All things considered, I don't think restrain is practical so if they don't cooperate we have to kill them. Of course we could try using puppet, controlling her and through her the wasp could work. But really "willing" cooperation would be more practical. I want to know what the deal with the tarantulas is, so far the hive is 2 hostile and 1 unknown. I'm tempted to go the evil route and just wipe them out, they seem desperately short of redeeming qualities.
