It seems we are fighting Alide here. Talwa has firestorm. If open is not working, or even first, she should try burning us enough room to fight without having to worry about the ropes
Actually, I've changed my mind. We are being offered to avoid the fight in exchange for making an exchange, unless the original exchange was something we wouldn't even consider delaying it in the hope of finding an advantageous battlefield (rather than merely fair) seems like a good deal. Plus if we don't like this exact service, we can use a different one as we are agree to use a service at least once.
Alide will be setting traps, I don't think we can assume we'll even find an advantageous battlefield. We should take advantage of this fair fight while we have the chance.
I've been confused as to what day of the week it is for a while, don't worry about it and do it when you are ready.
Newest Chapter: I swear I did all the rolls fairly... Alide just actually managed to roll a nat 20 against the ropes. Hilariously so did maple...
Alright.... I will be frank. What is it with everyone borrowing my ropes?! I wrote one-off dungeon in private with some folks and everyone that saw that room of hanging ropes, used it in their own story without a hitch. Why even bother being a mage at this point? I will just sell those ropes by the meter. Buy 10 meters and you get a set of potions(lust, paralysis, poison) to douse them with for free! Remin's Ropes doesn't take liability for incorrect usage of the potions and is not liable for unintended death, pregnancies, intelligence loss, motor function loss, abrasions and/or other unfun consequences of being a dumb-ass that doesn't read instructions fully. Oh and yeah, I don't mind either option so I am letting you dorks pick.
Well, I have learnt two things from this. First is that Alide is very beatable if everyone is fighting, and probably trivially so if we can do something about that initial barrage of darts. Second we have a fair bit of leeway before a critical failure although I would rather not use any of it. Also, I don't suppose Alide is obligated to kill in alphabetical order? Because that would be rather convinient if true. I don't really know what boon to ask for, but I think it would be overly cruel to leave anyone behind at this stage. Perhaps try for a better cure? That seems like a useful spell right now. And for next steps (after healing and curing everyone), unless we are getting a free pass to the exit door, head back to the previous room (to deal with the anti-magic) then back in and use Open to bypass the room. Or we try for a fair fight in the starting room via waiting, it seems like Alide still needs to turn up at random like a normal floor boss. Oh, and any ideas for dealing with darts? Looks like open does indeed bypass the existing magical defences but perhaps we can find something that qualifies as "force". Maybe experement by throwing rocks at Beck, I'm sure she will love that.
It seems the dice weren't on our side this time. As unfortunate as the result was, the fact that the DC was only 21 even with most of the party nabbed by ropes and immediately getting their magic sealed shows this was a winnable fight. We also saw that there are limits to Alide's knowledge, since she didn't know about Beck's immortality, so we may be able to surprise her by busting out some of our other rewards and/or shifting around people's equipment. As for Dahlia's deal... I think we need to offer up Yulia. Our party is pretty flexible and Alide isn't the only danger we're up against on this floor. Better to have everyone around to counter various problems.
Yeah, that went about as well as I expected lol Looks like Yulia will have to step up again. As for the boon I want to go for Utility.
You technically did fail and critically so, it was literally luck that the person she chose to kill (by dice roll) was the immortal one. There was equal chance of her choosing to kill anyone... Yulia herself included. So, yes you got lucky. Though if the dice had landed on anyone but Beck, Talwa or Sally I probably would have fudged it so Dahlia removed her before she got to actually strike a killing blow.
Absolutely when it landed on Beck I literally burst out laughing and was like... God damn... Lucky AF
We have an effectively unlimited number of potions, if magic is out in future, just use the potions and restock later. That said, I think we should increase our ready supply from 2 each to enough for the entire party plus 2 each (so 13 each) so that anyone can get everyone out of this mess. Yulia should learn undermine, hopefully we get a more powerful effect. Then carry on with whatever next step seems appropriate as I outlined before.
Well, fortunately I doubt this pregnancy will have any affect until we are done with this tower. It appears Yulia needs a cure herself, to get rid of that anti magic venom. And yes, it's the best if we let Yulia learn undermine I don't really want to try this room again, so I vote to pick the right room this time.
The anti magic lasts until we leave the room. That's why I went with leaving by the quickest route unless we get a free pass.
