So here we are... Is Dreg a super boss? No I don't think he is. He along with Alide, Dahlia, and brave Muma are just beings with a few extra powers to fulfill a roll. Dreg sounds like someone playing poker and going all in with ones. However that last commente semed like a goading for us to fight. Does Dreg himself just wish to be done with the tower and has chosen this moment to die? Is he that confidant in his sleep ability that he believes he can win? Are we missing something and he along with the other tower guides have super powers, in which case why didn't brave Muma. I say fight, he wants the fight, Yulia wants the fight, the voices want the fight. Dregs powers that we have seen has been sleep, spawning items and curses via the wheel, and warding off the floor monster. He has proclaimed he does not know how any of these abilities work, just that they do. I don't feel he can will these things into the fight, but we should be cautious of these regardless. Energize and the horn should help with drowsiness. Use an adrenaline if your really feeling it. Other than that, just give him a good stab. He's old, fat, and falling apart. He has no illusion cause the voices have seen him touch you and I doubt we have another transformer on our hands.
Alright, I have to apologize for this, but I thought about the situation a bit more and I have to switch my vote to not fight. Here is my reasoning: Dreg is without a doubt an asshole, but all he ever did was making deals. Dreg is upfront about his protection from the floor monster and the cost of doing so. Same with his other services like the wheel of dreg. All Dreg ever did to the queen was staring at her. The queen assume Dreg let Lumberer in, but even if that was the case, Dreg has no obligation to protect the Goblins Even the bet with Muma, as disgusting as it was, indicates Muma agreed to this. This is different from Ash who tried to screw us over on the second floor and was an active threat on this floor. The same goes for every boss we encountered. Even the priests on floor three, which we didn't have the fight, wuuld have at least provided us with some information. This type of incentive is completely absent from Dreg. He was never a threat and the only reason we would kill him is because he is an asshole. Taking all off this into consideration, I can't in good conscience approve of this fight. I'm sorry about this. I think from now on, I will take a bit longer before casting my vote.
"Although if you do attempt to kill me, success will net you a lovely surprise," he says giving Yulia a quite creepy grin... Seems to me there would be a prize or event that would occur. Also... Ah yes the person holding the gun isn't at fault, it was the gun that killed that goblin. Ah yes, the gambler who bankrupt the poor man is not at fault, clearly Muma should have made a better decision. He's asking for it. Let it be known that I am a Yes to fight. However I can agree that this, probably, won't help us on our journey and, probably, is an unneeded risk.
Alright, while its vote against vote, Yulia clearly wants this fight so I don't expect things will play out in my favor this time. It feels wrong to give advice on a fight, I don't want in the first place, but I will say that Yulia is currently too agitated and needs to calm down. We barely know anthing about Dreg. which makes it even more so important to keep our wits about.
To TheLeherengin: Ok, so as a voice I'm still down for this fight. But I'm worried cause I don't want a game over for Yulia yet. It would be pretty silly to end this run on a completely avoidable fight. I'll stand with the consequences of my choice... But can I ask for some divine intervention for Yulia Squad if I'm making a bad decision... I don't want the story to end yet
If Dreg wins, bad things will absolutely happen, but the halo will prevent Yulia from actually dying permanently, however... her companions may fare less well. If she loses to Dreg, she and her companions will die, but she will be revived, Cherchiel and Goma will remain dead if they take part in the fight though. With that in mind I will if people want, give an extra day for people to decide and will write the chapter on friday.
That seemed like divine intervention to me XD Maybe we send the other two to the queens room while Yulia stabs him... But that could be a waste of the Halo, unless he's all hot air. Aaaaaaahh, fine! We should just leave him. As much as I want to call his bluff I don't think it's worth the risk... If we could get Alide to spill some info on him then maybe, but right now he can't directly hurt us. The Queen already gave us Goma and seems content for Dreg to just leave.
To be clear, don't attack. But do curse Dreg to an early grave. We'll gather more info first before we attack him. Still think it's a bluff though...
Newest Post: Dreg lives, unfortunately (Normal schedule will be returning after this, so don't expect posts on Friday from now on.)
Magritte was friendly and Brave Muma wanted us to defeat Flora, I say we defeat the plant. Kinda wish we had fire to fight it, but we don't... Unless that book would give us it. Regardless, when do we ever take the "easy" path. Ok I believe we've done everything on this floor. Let's see if we can grab some torches and or fire bombs from either the elves or goblins. Goma can you make burny balls, or explody fire?
I won't deny that there is a decent chance that Dreg just won a huge gamble. Engin, I hope you tell us if that was just a bluff or not after the game is over. I'm genuinly curious lol We also should probably check in with the blacksmith, he is our..uh companion after all, and it would suck if we accidentally leave him behind when changing floors. Alright, so its finally time for the floor boss....and I hate that I have to do this again, but I'm against fighting Flora. We are ill equipped to fight her. As stated, we have no fire at our disposal, but also no longe range weapon. At least Cherchiel would have to go in close and personal with her. Since Flora is a flower, it is pretty much a given that she will attack with vines, trying to immobilize us. The best we could do against that is slash at them. From a tactical standpoint, we are at a clear disadvantage. We probably could still win on a technical level, but it is definitely an unnecessary risk. Meanwhile there is no danger in fighting the queen. As for the floor itself, I feel Muma would be more useful in the forest while Goma is more inclined for the caves. As such I also find the caves to be the better choice for our party. So yeah, I'm for fighting the queen.
What does defeating the Queen entail? Would she be able to just let us pass or beat her in a game of chess or something? I really don't want to have to kill the Queen. She's nice and I'm pretty sure Goma would hate us. I agree we're mismatched against a plant boss, which is why I recommended looking for some fire tools. Can we ask around and get some answers first?
If that could be arranged then I'd throw my vote to the queen. I trust the Queen so I'd like her thoughts.
Yeah, the fact that the queen doesn't have to die factored into my reasoning as well. That's said I'm always up for checking for more supplies. Some torches would most likely come in handy for the caves as well.
Newest Post: Prepare for trouble Also talking to the blacksmith is unnecessary. He'll follow you to the next floor regardless. You cannot accidentally abandon companions.
Well, she's ready and we're ready so why not. I want a good clean fight and no killing. This is a challenge of friends! Ok, might as well go all out still. Boarchiel with energize and the horn to get up close and tackle her to the ground. Yulia prepare for this, then attack once she's pinned. Show no mercy as you tickle her into submission! Since this should be a safe combat, Goma feel free to help out with the assault. If actual combat insues I guess hit her hand and staff with an icicle. If we disarm her she might have trouble casting... Also can't cast if she's laughing to hard but meh. Also yay! A light hearted fight for once
this shouldn't require much, my only worry is that we might injure the queen if we go all out, so I second the motion of not using weapons By buffing Boarchiel like this and hitting the queen with an undermine I expect little resistance. I'm sure Boarchiel will need relief after this, so by all means take the queen up on her offer.
Newest Post: Tickle Fight I left in the difficulty calculations this time. Feel free to share your thoughts.
Seems about right calculation wise. I appreciate seeing it for this fight, but that definitely took the suspense away knowing she won right off the bat. If you do put the calculations in, put them at the end. If you like dice rolls, you could always roll for each companion to see their usefulness. Before the elevator could we get some torches? Does that mean it's question time? Cherchiel: What's it like being Boarchiel? How has it been traversing another floor of the Tower? Goma: I believe you mentioned you've helped make new goblins... How many children do you have already? How did you leave this floor the first time?
