We’ve got three races down there, and we have a vague idea of what each is capable of. Now we just head to the reef. Maybe we can find a lead on that clam he mentioned.
Well, from what I gathered we probably can forget allying with the fish people. The Siren or Mermaid might be more inclined. Oh, and giving that the fish guy tried to rob us, I'd say we take his javelin. It's probably not very useful, but who knows? After we can let him go, but not before giving him a stern warning to leave us alone. I doubt he will listen but it's worth a try. And yup let's go to the reef. If I have my lore right, gathering in a lantern spot is a safe affair, but the only one who can swim is Goma. I'm a bit torn with sending her down there alone. On one hand we might get that clam from there but on the other hand there will be at least some time where Goma is seperated from the group. If anyone wants to reread the relevant chapters to gathering spots: https://chyoa.com/chapter/Muma.1018893 https://chyoa.com/chapter/The-Lantern's-Guiding-Light.1020501 Personally, I lean towards leaving the gathering spot be for now and continue to the new island. Oh, and the path towards said new island looks perfect for an ambush. So everybody remain vigilant while crossing over. Let's keep Goma and Isalia in the middle. Also updated map
I wonder how valuable our 30 shells are. Considering this is our second attempted robbery on this floor already, I feel like there’s gotta be something to this. Or this is just a floor with a high crime rate. Also, nice save Isalia, if that snare had pulled Cherchiel into the water she could’ve been in danger. As for tactics, I wonder if Yulia firing lightning into the air as a warning shot could scare the sirens off. If not, Isalia blows the horn for everyone, Cherchiel will take up a defensive stance and fend off any sirens who approach, Goma will be on guard to Puppet any sirens who seem especially troublesome, and Yulia can just start firing off lightning magic at the sirens. Would it be worth it to Energize everyone as well, or should Yulia just go straight to attacking?
Yep, thats intended to be her, I'm still salty we let her go, so at least I have her on the map XD I start to believe that these shells are more trouble then they are worth According to fish guy the siren's are sneaky ambushers, so now that their ambush has failed I really don't think they have any cards left to play Goma puppet the leader and make her hold her own dagger at her throat. Then let's ask her again if they really want to this. The rest can leave but we should ask the leader some questions, chiefly why everybody wants these seashells so badly and where exactly we can get something to breathe underweater(let's see if what she says matches what the fishguy told us) After we can release her, but since we won't get her weapons lets take her swimsuit instead. Should negotiations fall through we should go all out Yulia energize the group(except yourself) and attack with blizzard and lightning strike Isalia you are on horn duty, after repel any attack that comes your way Cherchiel, play defensive Goma have the leader attack her friends via puppet We can't rule out that there are more snares on this small patch of land, so try not to move too much. I also think we should not use Boarchiel for this one for obvious reasons. Don't overreach, it's fine to simply protect Yulia and her long range spells and counter any attacks from the Siren. Ideally we would at least keep one of them alive for questioning, but winning obviously takes priority
Newest Post: Goma could definitely abuse that Puppet ability if she and/or the voices wanted her too XD
I have a few more questions. 1. Where can we find the Priestess of the Deep and the Clam? 2. How long has this weapon dealer been around? Did they only appear within the last few days? 3. How valuable would 30 shells be? I want to know how much potential bargaining power we have. Once we’ve got some answers, I think we can let them go without issue. At the moment, I don’t see any reason to antagonize any one side in this conflict outside of self defense. And that’s probably all we can get from this random hunting party. As for this weapons dealer, I feel that’s probably connected to Dahlia, if it’s anyone we know. As for the shells, I suspect they have no real value for the weapons dealer. Instead, the goal of this is to escalate the conflict on this floor as a way to impede Yulia’s progress. Suddenly, all three factions are hunting all over the floor, and mugging anyone they come across. Not to mention the weapons themselves make them more dangerous. I also think our party could be enough to tip the scales in favor of any faction. That may be something to consider: Allying with one of these three factions in exchange for passage through the floor.
That definitely sounds something Dahlia would be up to in her capacity of demon of gifts. I was definitely waiting for a chance to abuse it XD But we probably shouldn't squander Goma's mana like that Sounds good, let's have her answer these questions. Goma can make her play with her nipples while she's at it. Just as a reminder who's in charge. Allying with one faction would be nice, but so far they all seem fairly untrustworthy. Maybe the mermaids will be more reasonable, but with our luck they try to mindcontrol us out of the shells. Anyways, once this is done I do believe we can finally release her. Tell your friends to leave us alone. Next time you will not get off so easy. I would say after we head to the new island. The priestess might be at that stone structure we ignored so far, but might as well explore this portion properly first
Newest Post: I just wanted to spice up what was otherwise a pretty boring chapter and then realized I technically robbed you guys of a moral choice, I was thinking of offering the choice, but didn't really want to bog down the story further... so don't worry. This choice will potentially come up again, if any of you were thinking you would have preferred it to go a different... darker way.
If it'd been a choice, I would've voted in favor of interrupting because I feel that's more in line with the party's moral compass currently. So I'm certainly not complaining. I say we visit Alide, as she can probably tell us what's on the other paths. And she can tell us more about the floor. And we may want to confront her about what Dahlia hinted at, where Alide's role may put her in opposition to us before the end of our journey. Given her animosity towards the floor monsters, I wonder if defeating them on every floor could prevent that from happening. If the dealer has been operating for about a month, this was probably an effort to impede the Chosen regardless of who they are, rather than Yulia in particular. The fact that a ceasefire was made a year ago makes me wonder if the previous Chosen was involved. As for the shells, it seems like we're sitting on a pretty substantial hoard. It seems like we could buy some favors if need be.
You know, I almost suggested Goma would pupeteer her to make out with the male merman but then decided that would make answering questions difficult. So this is fine by me XD Well, guess it's Alide time, we can use this opportunity to get Goma's Mana back to 100% Should we do another attempt at getting that information utility spell? I think Yulia is doing fairly well with offensive magic
Newest Post: Not feeling great today... So, essentially splitting this post in half and also giving you guys a chance to finalize deciding exactly what you'd like from Alide... though mostly I'm splitting this post cause apparently the dice like tradition and I just... really don't feel like writing that right now... So, it will happen next post once the Alide stuff is dealt with...
Love you Alide! Even if we end up on opposite sides, I respect you have your reasons. (Although I think you jinxed us by mentioning the Kraken's odds of appearing.) As for the boon, I'll agree with Gambio. The information spell would be great, and I'm sure there are other utility spells Yulia or Goma could get good use from. Also, based on what she said, Alide seems to know who is giving out weapons but can't tell us. Describing them as 'he' stands out. I wonder if this is Mai Moon, the Demon of Greed. (Also, no worries Lehe, you gave us tons of stuff for this update. Hope you feel better!)
Ah gotcha XD The only side objective we are aware of right now is getting all the cum vials, so I assume it has something to do with that Looks like we are in agreement then. Lets get another utility spell I also definitely encourage Goma getting our free mana refill given what will happen right after As for that whole weapons dealing thing, that sounds like another demon to me. We certainly have a lot of them left to meet. It sounds fitting for Dahlia, but honestly a lot of the demons could fit in like greed or wrath. And of course given the floors theming we also can't rule out another run in with Levateinn
Hm, interesting that it's called identify, that suggests we might use it on more things then just enemies. Well, it's not like we can fight Kraken, so run away it is, that said,, I suggest we try the identify spell on one of the tentacles first, to see what happens So, fleeing in this situation is actually a bit tricky, we have two paths to choose, both leading over a narrow land bridge. There is a decent chance that if we move towards storm island we might fall into another trap. On the other hand, retreating back towards where we got ambushed is probably safer, but we can't rule out another ambush. Still, I'd say it's the best option so I'd say we retreat back towards the island with the reef new map
There are actually three paths going from this island, one going to the storm island, one going back and the coral bridge with the message going to an unknown location.
Oh yeah, not sure how I missed that one lol I adjusted the map accordingly, but my advice stays the same
I'll second everything Gambio said: Teach Yulia Identify, run from the kraken, try to cast Identify on it on the way, and run towards the reef. But before we leave, I'd like to use Identify on two targets: Alide and the Ring of Clear Mind. I'm curious to see what, if anything, we can learn about Alide. And this is the last time we'll see her on this floor. As for the Ring of Clear Mind, back when Alide identified it for us a while back, it seemed like she held some information back. Maybe we can find out for ourselves?
