I wanted to note this last time but can you share the retreat mechanics? Is it a simply 50/50 chance or something more?
The retreat mechanics are a simple check essentially. Treated much like a trap check except using resourcefulness instead of intelligence and the check is usually a basic 10 difficulty. Often without other modifiers though sometimes there are. Edit: Accidentally said basic 20 difficulty. It's a basic 10 difficulty with a d20 roll.
So I have a risky idea. The kraken didn't touch Yulia last time, probably due to the connection her ring has to Levateinn. Maybe she could try to pass by on her own for now while the others retreat? If at least Yulia could get past and gain water breathing, that would give us more options to deal with the kraken.
Ah got it. Well, we beaten the bloody thing once already, unfortunately there are a few things to consider here The last fight ended with a base difficulty of 6, which is a bit too high for my liking. But worse then that, the terrain is much more treacherous compared to last time. We can't rule out that this means the kraken gets additional points. There is merit to what Emmie is saying, but even if the Kraken ignores Yulia, we have no idea what awaits us at the end of the path. Yulia might very well be forced into a solo fight. And of course, if the group without Yulia fails the retreat they are absolutely screwed. Because of this, I can't agree with this plan, I propose we instead try to break through towards the cathedral. Since the kraken has us surrounded I don't think it make any difference if we retreat forwards or backwards. Of course if the escape fails, we have no choice but to fight
I don't know if I failed to make this clear, but you cannot escape forward at current. There is a tentacle blocking the path forward. To go forward you will have to fight your way through which removes the option of escaping.
Well, we gave him a chance. Goma, order the one from before to charge toward the kraken. Maybe this time he’ll learn his lesson. Isalia, blow the horn. Yulia, Energize then switch to lightning magic. Cherchiel, hood off the big one while the others take off the normal sized ones, as he seems the biggest threat.
Sheesh, how ruthless, but then again I don't expect these chumps to put up a fight, and they are too ugly for anything sexy so might as well go with that. That said, we should at least allow the rest of them flee after demonstrating our puppet power. If they still want to fight it's murder time. Emmie has covered most of the bases, I would like to add the following. Let's identify the big one, just so we get a bit more information on the Sahaguin Use a blizzard, before focusing on lightning strike Cherchiel wear the boar mask
Hah, I was admittedly expecting some sort of trap with the brute, given that puppeteering him would have been the obvious choice That said even if we had fallen for that, this would have been in the bag Yeah, not much to say here so I'm posting early and say we try the path again, hopefully the Kraken has eaten and is now gone. Just as last time, I'd say we move towards the Cathedral first also map update
Well, it’s a good thing we know about those Sahaguin brutes now. Dealing with one was fine, but since they can endure Yulia’s magic and ignore Goma’s Puppet, a larger force would be tough to deal with. In the future, if we run into a mixed force with multiple brutes, we should have Goma use Puppet to turn the regular Sahuagin against the brutes. For now, I’ll agree with heading for the cathedral first.
Shells are the new hotness right now. Can we pay with those? If not, or if we don't have enough to pay for four, some items we might wanna sell could be: the ornate rapier, the trident, the Siren's swimsuit, the spidersilk gown. We haven't been using the Gloves of Harvest, although the healing effect makes me reluctant to give it up.
Hm...how big is this chance that this is all a ruse and we are actually talking to the clam right now? I mean according to the intel we gathered this fits more what the clam was supposed to do and since one way is clearly superior, there has to be a catch. Before we donate anything we should definitely cast identify on the things, incidentally, might be a good idea to cast identify on the priestess.
(No worries fam, hope you feel better soon.) As I see it, we'll have to pay a price for either option, and I'd prefer knowing what we give up. There isn't any harm in checking with the clam, but honestly I think it would be better to just give up a few items now and move on.
Hmm... It certainly could be a double trap and walking around always increases the risk of running into the kraken again. Alright, while I'm not convinced this is the best option, I prefer certainty and since we have a couple of excess items anyways might as well get rid of them Can we offer throwing knives? Or the charm arrows? I mean they are weapons Personally I would go for siren's swimsuit spidersilk gown gloves of harvest demonic dress Let's face it, we aren't going to use the demonic dress anyways since it comes with too much repercussions, so might as well get rid of it. I also like to keep the Trident and give it to Goma provided she can wield it. Healing plays such a little role in this, that I don't think the Gloves of harvest are really worth it either. At any rate, before we make a decision we really should cast identify on all these items, just to make sure we don't accidentally give something extremely valuable away.
