Wait, we can use the Gloves of Harvest with a weapon? We can just steal another trident, we should keep the gloves. Maybe give them to Isalia so she can be safer on the front line?

Huh, I could have sworn we checked that before. Yeah, if that thing is actually something we can just equip without losing a weapon it would be silly to give up.

So the spell isn't permanent and can be dispelled eh? This could be pretty disastrous if it happens underwater.

We also have the option to not get the underwater breathing for everyone.Altough, this is of course a risky move by itself

yeah, I think the swimsuit and spidersilk gown are a no brainer. I also think the demonic dress can be given up. We're not gonna use it anyways.

Oh and I also want to have the trident identified.



As for my final decision we need input on the gloves first.

 

The gloves can indeed be worn and have another weapon equipped without losing the effect. Though in this case the gloves are not counted as a weapon, but as armor for combat calculation stuff.

I feel like that was said when Alide first explained what they did, but it is possible I forgot to include that detail. My bad if so.

incidentally, now that I look at the stats, we really should have given it to Goma since they are stronger compared to the knife, altough, the knife is currently preferrable due to the circumstances

I'd still like that Identify on the Trident.before we give it up. For all we know that thing can spell forth lightning or something.

Maybe do the identify here,so we won't need an extra post for it?

Mermaids are the most magically inclined faction, and thus most likely to be able to dispel the waterbreathing, right? If so, we might want to side with them. Especially since they're the only faction we haven't fought yet. Assuming we want to take a side at all, of course.

But I think we're good to go. Might as well get to exploring the other half of the floor.

 

I just realized..is everyone even capable of swimming? Or maybe that comes with the package.


before we go diving, we should check out the reef gathering spot which we neglected up until now. Might also be a good idea to check out how to water breathing/swimming works there and how good everything else works. meaning weapons, magic and the horn

I wish we knew a bit more about underwater combat but on the other hand I don't think we should run away any more.

Yeah let's fight it.

Might as well get the buffs out the way while we are on land, so Goma sound the horn, Yulia energize everyone except yourself and Cherchiel go Boarchiel

Then it's time to go diving and kill that bitch

Yulia focus on lightning strike the core of the kraken, you can try a blizzard for got measure but I don't think it will be very effective.

Cherchiel strike for the core as well.

Goma, try to use puppet on the core, probably won't work on a floor monster, but might as well try to hold it back at least a little bit. Otherwise just stay defensive.

Same goes for you, Isalia, stay back with Yulia and defend against any incoming tentacles.

 

I'm not 100% certain about fighting, but I can't deny that we've gotta deal with it at some point.

I'll agree with Gambio's plan, but add that Yulia should use Identify on the kraken to see if we get any weaknesses or at least some useful info.

Although arguably this is a better outcome than if you had just fought since you weren't going to win that combat anyway.

 

Looks like we'll need a bit more strategy and prep to take on the kraken. But for now, it'd probably be best to Identify the king and his staff in case we get some good info. Besides that, I see little choice but to hear him out. It's clear he wants the kraken gone, and our party is capable of doing so with a bit more time and resources. I suspect the reason none of the three factions have dealt with the kraken themselves is because it would cost too much manpower to accomplish while still keeping a balance against the others factions. But if we could deal with it with just a bit of support, that'd be good.
But if the king wants to use us against the other factions, that will require a bit more consideration.
It might also be worth it to ask the king about the previous treaty, as it may be worth getting the three factions to accept it again.

I have to veto using spells right now. I don't think the King would be very pleased if we did anything of the sort and we are really not in a situation were we can push our luck.

I assume the king wants us to help in the war effort? At any rate we have to play along for now.
