Do we have to cooperate? Yulia’s Unlock spell can free the rest of the party, Goma’s Puppet can turn them against each other, and Cherchiel and Isalia should be able to fight off Sahuagin once freed. Not to mention we can take the king hostage.
Hm, do we have our equipment? I mean it says so in items, but that seems unlikely given the situation.
I mean trying to fight back is definitely an option, although... Hmm would unlock untie ropes? It might... I'll have to think on that... Also I suppose no they do not have their equipment, they have their swimsuits, but weapons and shields are elsewhere.
While we certainly crushed the last fight against them I don't really see this happening without equipment. We could threaten thunderstrike for mutual assured destruction, but the King is a brute, so there is a decent chance he could tank it. So yeah I feel that at least for now we have to play along
Oh, for some reason I thought everyone was chained up rather than tied with rope. I guess we've gotta play along for now...
Considering killing Maeva would be in the interests of Levateinn, I say we don't give her the satisfaction. That said, we shouldn't reject this offer outright. Pretend to go along until we can get back with the rest of our party. The guards sent with Yulia are dead, so make the case that Yulia would need her party to take on Maeva, we need something to give to the Sahaguin king. Ask for the weapons the shells would have gotten us, and say we'll trade some to the king to get the party back and use the rest to kill Maeva. Then, we seek her out, but reveal what's going on to her. If she knows the weapon seller is an ally of Levateinn, maybe she can help us deal with him and/or turn the three factions against him.
Oh, so it's not Dahlia after all, Ok, this seems fairly straightforward, killing Maeva would allow Levateinn to return thus "ending" the war. I don't think we want that, considering our prior run in with her. The only thing she didn't outright try to kill us last floor was because of the abyss. We don't longer have that safety net, so yeah But let's ignore this for a moment Why would we even want to stop the war in the first place? As far as our group is concerned this doesn't really matter to us. We have no skin in the game. And then there's the issue that this fucker just killed the two fishman, so this will be a major headache with the king. What Emmie proposes is sound. There is no reason to reveal our cards just yet. For now we should check what type of weapons we can get from this guy
So our priorities are something like: 1. Get to the exit of the floor, defeat a boss if necessary 2. Keep Maeva alive to prevent Levateinn coming to the floor (at least while we’re still here) 3. Defeat the kraken for our streak of floor bosses, and to keep the sahaguin off our backs We don’t have much stake in the fight between the three factions besides a mutual dislike for the sahaguin. With the threat of Levateinn and/or the endorsement of Maeva, could we go to one of the other two factions for aid? And I mean real aid, not the threats of the sahaguin. I’m also wondering if we could turn some of our enemies against each other, possibly by luring the kraken towards the sahaguin or having Goma Puppet them into attacking the kraken.
Do we still have the shells? I mean from the sound of it they seem fairly useless, but I'm not sure if we gave them up or not lol If we still have them, we should use them to get some gear from our weapon dealer friend here even if they are useless beyond this floor because...how the hell do we defeat the kraken with our current gear? Given its stats we have zero chance.
Hm I see In that case we have no choice but to find a solution before fighting the Kraken again. In the worst case scenario we might have to give up on the floor bosses. The fish people might bitch but eh, we can handle them. For our next course of action I suggest we visit that stone structure topside that we neglected so far
I don't have any specific destinations in mind, so the stone structure is fine with me. As for dealing with the kraken, there's one thing we could try: Yulia fires lightning magic into the water while everyone is still ashore, and then the party charges in to finish the damaged kraken. It's not a great plan, but we don't have a lot of options at the moment.
It's not ideal, but since things get worse the longer we stay on the floor, it might be best to accept a couple boons. Maybe we could pull for more offensive spells to see if we get anything effective against the kraken? Or maybe piercing weapons since those seem more effective underwater? I think it'd also be good to use Identify on Dahlia while we're here. On that note, regardless of what we choose, when we're done with Dahlia maybe we should head back to Martin and Dreg. I'd be curious to see what Identify gives us on Dreg, and maybe Martin could make/enhance items we can use against the kraken?
Ah there she is. If we go the Dahlia route, I agree that we should opt for going offensive spells for Yulia. I say three upgrades Then if we can have Yulia attack from the shore while the rest goes underwater we might stand a chance If we go that route we would have to wait on shore for the Kraken to show up. The counterargument to that is that we have basically nothing of the deep explored and there is a decent chance that we will run into something that makes fighting the Kraken easier On the other hand we might just run into the kraken and the fish people might get pissed if we run away from it. Alright, taking everything into account, I agree to the offensive spell plan Incidentally, Goma can we fire the grenade launcher underwater? I think we might need it for the kraken
Yulia already has Life Drain and we don't use it much. It might be better to give that to someone else. Goma has healing magic and Cherchiel is better focused on melee damage. But Isalia could benefit from having a way to recover if the healers can't get to her. Force Lance seems like it wouldn't be hindered underwater, it might be worth firing a few into the air to master it and use it against the kraken. Fireball will depend on its effects. If it's another single-target elemental attack like Icicle or Lightning Strike, I say we hang on to it for now. But if it has a wider area of effect, it would be a very valuable addition to Yulia's arsenal. Hopefully Identify can answer that. Might as well use it on all three spellbooks. Unless someone has a specific destination in mind, I say we head back to Martin and Dreg. We can use Identify on Dreg to see if we have any idea what we're dealing with if we ever fight him, and we can ask Martin about making/improving items we can use against the kraken.
