No, this is a harvest spot, we just haven't run into one in a while. It's a special area with a ton of resources. Previous ones have had alchemical reagents and valuable ores. I suspect, through some Tower magic, all the stuff from the store we would've picked up is gathered behind the door. It'd be better to check it out once we've gathered all the plates and such rather than waiting.

Also, damn, I'm glad we planned enough for this, we've really rolled bad against The Manager in both fights.

 

Last one was when Goma joined Yulia. I think. Are harvest spots supposed to be safe? Anyway, I agree on checking it out before moving on.

 

There have been harvest spots since Goma joined. There was a harvest spot at the reef in Calumia, harvest spots existed in the underground as well at least two one was the mining minigame and the other was the dual lanterns... There were no Harvest Spots in The Tower Below though... I can't remember if I remembered to put a Harvest Spot in the park here, but there was supposed to be >.>

 

Excellent, nice that we finally found a use for these excess items.

That fight still ended up a bit too close to comfort, considering that we chugged 13 grenades at it, but a victory is a victory.

Yeah the farming spots are safe.

That said, we might as well cast identify on the lantern to check if it's a trap before we go gather the stuff

Incidentally, I was meaning to ask this last time but could we convert the cooking stuff and the rations to something else to? Doesn't seem we will be using that any time soon.

After we definitely want to upgrade Yulia's suit, the magic upgrade is a must and for the other upgrade I kinda want to go for speed again. Feels more valuable for this group.

And beyond that I see no reason to delay the prison break any longer

 

You can indeed. Ingredients (Alchemy, smithing, etc... can be converted between each other. IE Smithing Ingredients (Iron) could be made into Alchemy ingredient: Herbs or the like, you just can't say convert smithing ingredient: Iron into say Smithing Ingredient: Gold. Which is basically just to prevent essentially cheating rare ingredients.

The demonic dress wasn't pure negative either and more like a trade off.

Now is anything preventing us from using identify on the clothes on display to see what they do? I imagine they are all cursed in a way that we can't take them off, and we really need the tech suits on all the girls right now but might as well check.

The lantern area vanishes once we leave, so we probably should wait until we know a bit more about these dresses before making a decision.

Now as for the stuff to buy...

I think the machine core is a given

With the remainder I would go for 1 support, 2 defensive and 1 offensive.

If the stuff we get is crap we can always use the converter to turn it into something worthwile

After, I'd say we get the arcane upgrade for Yulia.

Now, the remaining one is tricky.

the magic disabling one sounds really good but magic wasn't exactly a big thing on this floor so far, so this would be more an investment in the future, which I'm not sure we can afford right now.

I know it sounds pretty boring, but I actually think the "provides light in dark places" is our best bet. We don't have anyone with us right now who can do that, so darkness could definitely completely cripple us.

 

We could get either one alchemy ingredient or or one smithing ingredient for future instead of support item. Though, a support item is not a bad choice.

Both flight and teleport suffer from being only for one and on this level the hard fights are likely to be inside where flight is not very useful. So I agree that the "provides light in dark places" is pretty good option for the last core upgrade.

I'd say we take engin up on her offer and get the Boar mask back.

As for the remaining 30 points. I'd kinda like two adrenalines. They are useful in basically any combat situation, which I prefer to the other stuff that is more situational.

With that out of the way I think it's finally time to head for prison.

 

How many ingots do we get for on purchase of smithing ingredients?

I think the smithing ingredients are more interesting. Silver ingots can be turned into 5 throwing knives and throwing knives can be turned into grenades. If we get more than one ingot for 10 points then we get more than 5 extra grenades for those 10 points. It's a shame we can't turn basic ingots into throwing knives too.

For defensive items the only one we can manufacture is adrenaline, if we had Goma, at a cost of 10 points. So not much improvement there unless Maple and Martin can turn ingots or plates into defensive items (preferably multiple per ingot).

Gear wise, only gear with special effects is likely to be worth it. Regular Maple or Martin made stuff is likely to be much more efficient (15 points of tech plate is tech chainmail). The boar mask is probably the best if for no reason than we understand it well but I'm not sure if 30 points couldn't be better spent elsewhere, I guess it depends on how much we can abuse this transmuter.

The demon dresses might be worth taking if they are free (taking, not wearing) as they would make a fairly effective emergency power button. Although if the shop sticks around doing that would probably lose the extra 100 of spending money option if we want it later.

 

I agree on getting Boar mask back. Also I don't think the demonic Dresses are worthwhile tradeoff for us.

No more efficient then getting arrows then. Although that's probably a good thing as it could get a little out of hand otherwise. Tech plates to emp grenades if we need more then, and there are plenty of those. I think I'm going to agree with Gambio then, we could have three adrenaline for the same price but we need to rescue Goma for that and I feel like the rescue is when we will want it.

 

The Boar Mask would be good to have back in terms of longterm combat abilities. I don't have strong feelings about anything else, so I'm fine with Adrenaline.

Also gonna put a hard no on taking the dresses. First of all, I suspect they'll be auto equipped if we take them. Secondly, I think the longterm tradeoffs of demonic transformation aren't worth whatever power boost we'd get, even in an emergency. Enough hits on that curse could lead to members leaving the party or betraying us outright, and that's not worth whatever boost we'd get.

 

having the dresses would definitely be quite the boon simply by virtue of being able to trade them with Alide for other stuff.

But the wording is just vague enough that I don't think it's worth messing with them. Maybe if we had our proper group, but right now I don't like to take any risks.
