Thoughts on the Cuckold fetish?

Yeah, there are many authors like this. Some write transformation in every story\branch, some write ENP, some go for incest, some go for fucking socks...

 

In my case, it is also a problem with other kinks like sharing. If the author writes the story with the impression that is about one man and suddenly in the middle it switches to sharing or cuckold that ruins the story for me. It is just one or two chapters and the story is great I could skip those chapters and continue, but sometimes when this happens it is a switch that will change the story until the end, and that for me means the story is ruined. I have nothing against those kinks when the author is sincere and says from the start that his intention is to make a cuckold story.

The same for other kinks, If I don't like the kink I won't read the story, but I have no complaints against the author. The problem is not the kink itself, is the switch of kinks in the middle of the story because I feel cheated by the author. The difference between cuckold and other kinks is that other kinks are most of the time in the story from the beginning, but cuckold is the one I see more times added in the middle of a story.

Fortunately, I have not seen this problem very much in Chyoa, but in erotic videogames, which in essence are also erotic stories that follow a similar pattern like Chyoa stories, are released usually monthly and you can play the game while is still in development until it is finally complete if that happens (like Chyoa stories) there has happened many times to games to start with a non-cuckold story and in a patch on the middle of development change it to cuckold, wich in eroge is called Netorare. The primary example was a game called Big Brother. Fortunately, eroge authors have realized that is better for them to add netorare as an optional kink to avoid please everyone.

 

I'm not sure I can agree with this.

As a reader, I can imagine it could be frustrating to invest some time in a story that midway takes a turn towards a kink I don't like, actually it still happens once in a while.
To be fair, sometimes in not even a matter of kink, it's just the story takes a bad turn and I feel kind of cheated too.
But then I stop and think of it like a writer.

When I do, I realize I can't really complain much. Either I add my own contribution and try to steer the story where I like, or get over it. This is especially true if this was about a kink I don't like and such kink was correctly tagged by the Author.

Also, as a writer, I must admit I can't fathom a story that sticks to just a few kinks and never changes. It would be really boring to write. It's pretty normal for me that at some point a branch would introduce a new one.
You call it swich of kinks, but if the writing is organic you can probably see were the story is going.

Well, I'm no much into incest myself, if I read an intro like that, I keep on reading at my own risk.

So, if there's a story of a guy with a fiance or girlfriend or a wife, or even a simple love interest, wouldn't it right to expect to be possible for the story to take the cuckoldry turn?
I mean, it's either that, or cheating(of the mc) or sharing(which you don't like too) or swapping or some other relationship-based kink.

Narratively speaking, if a character is presented is bound to have a strong impact on the story somehow. Like a checkov's gun, uh?

- hot looking sister or mother or daughter or whaterver >>> she's gonna get it

- hot looking wife in the intro? >>> she's gonna get it, too, but probably there will be cucking

I don't know about games, I have played a few in the past, mostly for free, and yeah I concur that cuckoldry is oddly popular. I didn't understand that at first, but since I came to writing, I think I understand why is that.
It's about the POV.

With First person you are bound just a types of stories:

1) dating sym harem galore/pussy slayer
2) cheating vs. cucking husband

with male MC

3)generical girl/woman getting fucked at every step, possibly with blackmail and forced sex elements

with female MC. She could be either a wife or a mother or none of that too.

These work out pretty well with 'choices' game, the most popular ones, that's my conclusion.

I'm never sure on the exact definition of a "cuckold fetish". Is it a man who openly enjoys his partner having sex with other men and encourages that, or is it getting gratification from cheating in general?

What I enjoy (and what I write about) is women cheating on their partners behind their back, when everyone involved knows that is wrong.

 

A cuck fetish might serve some evolutionary purpose. If your partner is cheating, having an erection to mushroom out the sperm would be handy. On the flipside, wanting to have someone who has similar DNA but is doing better than you impregnate your mate may be better for the species.
