"Take a seat." Jurobei nodded. "Indeed. I have worked hard, for this. I have delivered both, Shogun and Empress to the Emperor, cutting his opposition in half. He has seen fit to reward us." He paused. "Now, what brings you to me."
The samurai woman sits near him. "I was wondering about succession. You've never publically stated which of your children will inherit the clan."
"What the!" Kyouka exclaimed, rushing straight to Eight-Tail's abode. She keeps her right hand on her katana's hilt, prepared to draw in case she gets into a fight.
Jurobei nodded. "Indeed I have not." He looked at her sharply. "If simply because all of you are simpletons, not fit to rule." He said harshly. "You are yet to prove yourselves - you for example, are to concentrate on honour - asks ancient clans that were known for their honour, what it means to them, their children and women - silence will be your answer." He sighed. "You need to grow, to change, become ruthless, to make sure our families survive." He looked at her sharply. "Do you understand?"
High tailing it to the building, she finds it burnt out, embers still glowing. In front of it are several bodies, cut down as they tried to escape the flames. As Kyouka joins the large crowd gathered to gawk, she sees a small child looking at her. Subtly, the child waves for the redhead to follow.
She's silent for many moments. "Yes, father. I understand. Sometimes, to lead, you have to make the hard decisions, the decisions that no one else has the strength to make. The decisions that keep you up at night, and try your conscience. I understand, father, and I'm ready to follow in your footsteps." She bows her head before him. "I may not be your eldest, or a man, but of your children, I am the one who is willing to sacrifice everything for the good of the clan, including their honour."
"You think you do." he paused. "But that makes you more worthy than the rest of my children." He nodded. "Was there anything else?"
"Tsk." Clicking her tongue as she saw the destruction. Kyouka was surprised to see the child beckoning her over, curious, she follows him. With her guard still up, the redhead looks at the child while following.
@Regin34 Outside the castle, Inazuma and the masked kunoichi see a candle in a window. It's their signal to attack. Inside the lord's chamber, Midori stands, moving closer to Jurobei, before sitting down right next to him. "I'd like you to name me heir. I'm willing to show you how worthy I am." Her hand grasps his thigh.
The child rushes through alleyways and backstreets, before heading into a basement. There, she sees Eight-Tails sitting on a cushion, recieving a massage from an elderly woman. "Ah, we meet again. You caused me a lot of trouble today. I had to fake my death and everything." He gives her an obviously fake angry look. "I hear you did a hell of a job at the Terada dojo."
"Oh? And how exactly are you going to do that?" Jurobei asks, then looks at her hand. "Girl, I have taken both Shogun and Empress and made them my sluts. After which I have given them away to Emperor, to do as he wished with them. I even offered to cut off their heads, as a sign of loyalty. I have defeated and left for death my own mother, just to make sure that the clan survives. You think I will be swayed by you? I applaud your dedication, and it speaks for you, but you overestimate your abilities in the department of seduction, and that speaks against you."
"What?" Kyouka looks in confusion. "Fake your death?" She repeats, "My sister? Or someone else?" She says outloud, before getting back in business. "Yeah, I did. Not, time to hold up your end of our bargain."
Inazuma nod to kunoichi and go with her, sneaking inside the castle, using her best to stay in the shadows.
She stands. "Very well. I'll stop bothering you for tonight." She walks to the door and opens it, before looking back at Jurobei. "Good night, father." She exits the room. After she leaves, Jurobei looks down, examining his new badge of office as shogun. Looking at it, he realises something's wrong. The shogun's badge of office is meant to be made of pure silver. The thing in his hand is just made of regular metal. It's a fake. With many of the guards on Midori's side, and prepared for violence, getting through the castle's security is not particularly difficult. The two find themselves above Jurobei's chamber, as a samurai bursts in through the door, covered in blood. "Lord Jurobei! We're under attack!" The sound of fighting echoes throughout the castle.
"I'm mostly certain it was her, yes." He nods. "Anyway, it's not important right now. You wanted information. If I remember correctly, you wanted both Oichi's supporter, and the assassin going after Shintaro?"
Inazuma throw surikens in the head of samurai who rush to lord Jurobei and get ready her katana as they move forward to his chamber. "Are you ready?" She asked masked kunoichi.
Jurobei slowly looks over the badge. A smile slowly forms on his face. As the two guards barge in, a realisation slowly came over him. "I guess you are worthy..." He says as he applauds the Emperor. Was it Sengoku? One of the eunuchs? Or one of his kids had actually more wits than he gave them? "Who is attacking us?" He asked calmly.
"O-Our own men." The samurai heaves. "But... We're shouting to the emperor's men to do something, but they're doing nothing to help. They just stand and watch." Upstairs, the masked woman nods. Together, she and Inazuma crash down from the ceiling. Jurobei watches as the two kunoichi land on the floor. The loyal samurai draws his blade, but the masked kunoichi throws a shuriken that cuts into his throat. "Make it quick." The masked kunoichi rushes out of the room to join the battle, leaving Inazuma and her father facing one another.
Inazuma don't want to hear anything from lord Jurobei. She throw shuriken in him and charge quiet as shadow with her katana on him.
"Damn right I do. And after that attack, I'm sure you're just dying to get back at her, aren't you?" Kyouia said with a devilish grin. "Now then, tell me, so I can return the favor to that sister of mine."
