"Nnh." Groaning as they're forced to retreat, Kyouka sheathes her blade. Attempting to once again reload her matchlock as she ran.
@unisol_gr44 The group, out of breath, makes it to the staircase at the other end of the chamber, the spider lagging behind, somewhat unwilling to pursue due to the pain inflicted upon it. Kyouka manages to reload her weapon. As they ascend, the ronin grunts. "All right, our haul has been pretty good. Personally, I'm leaving, I don't want to deal with another spider."
"Ah yes, the monster." She takes a few coins for a room. "Terrible, truly terrible. Noble samurai have been going missing, only to be found later in the woods, torn to shreds." She gives a look of disgust.
'Don't let your guard down yet, we don't know where these stairs go,' Jian said, as they went up the stairs.
"Haaah.... that's... fine with me." Kyouka said through heavy breaths. "You guys can have the loot. I'm fine with this sword." She said with a grin, while looking around to see where they were.
(It's alright.) “I guess we both learned something new.” Midori smiled at Yatsebe. “In any case I'm glad to have made a new friend.” Remembering her tea she took a sip.
Heading up several floors, they make it back to the more recent area of the ruins, with no trace of spiders anywhere. Heading further, they find themselves at the entrance of the hall of vines. The ronin grunts. "Ready to do this again?"
"Likewise." Yatsebe squeezes her hand. Kageatsu rises. "Well, do hope you enjoy your time in the city." He leaves. Yatsebe gulps once he's gone. "Midori, what we did on the ship... Was that wrong?"
"More than ever. Let's see how well my new partner can hold up." Kyouka said with a grin as her left hand grasps her new blade, with her thumb ready to assist with drawing it.
"Thats awful. We might be able to Help. We just need more Information about the Beast. Anything helps..."
Together, the group is able to carve their way across the room, dashing out of the way of the large vines and slashing the small ones. Finally, the group manages to make it back to the occupied and well lit upper floors, where the soldiers there check them thoroughly to ensure that they're not possessed or undead. When the sorceror gives the all clear, they walk out into the orange sunshine, the sun going down, light nearly blinfing them after so many hours underground. Chitsukiko sighs. "We made it."
"Well, I spend most of my time here, so I'm not the best person to ask." The woman frowns. "The people who found the bodies might be of some use, though. I can tell you where to find them."
"Pheeeeew." Kyouka lets out a long, exhausted sigh. "Hah... damn, that giant bastard was tough." She said through deep breaths. "Aahhh... anyway, let's head back to the city. I want a nice long bath."
They find the carriage in front of the military outpost, a helpful ashigaru having given the horses some water. Chitsukiko nods to Kyouka. "That sounds like a good idea." The ronin gets on top of the carriage.
(Huang?) The woman sketches on some cheap paper the location of three homesteads out on the very edge of the forest, belonging to woodcutters and farmers. As the pair of samurai walk away, Azai looks at Yunah. "Err... I noticed you only hired a single room. You won't be uncomfortable? Shall I get a room for myself?"
(Autocorrect ) Yunah smiles at The Women and gives her a Silver coin from her Purse. Shooks her Head at Azai "Nah it's ok. You can take The Bed. I can sleep on The Floor. Let's ask these Woodcutters and Farmers"
The woman takes the money gratefully. As they walk, Azai smiles. "Well, if you insist..." Together, they find themselves on a small woodcutter's home on the edge of the forest. A short man in his thirties is outside, chopping wood with an axe.
