All of her new team shake their heads as the time comes to back out - the former villain seeming arrogantly contemptuous of the danger posed by the robot, while the boys seem to want to impress her.
"Aww..." Chastity pouts playfully at her sister's refusal, but doesn't press the issue, giggling at the tattoo talk. "Heh, no problem. It took a while before my husband was ready for that kind of thing, too. Ooh, speaking of husbands, take a picture of me to send to Lucas, before the cum dries up." Chastity poses erotically for the camera. "Anyway, I'll see you back home, probably tomorrow. Love ya, sis!" She kisses Jenny on the lips and heads to shower, dress and head out. As Jenny gets home to go put on her new outfit, however, her phone buzzes - Duke, with info about the client he mentioned earlier.
Spoiler: Combat Roll D100: Waiting for the thugs to close the metal shutters first, Sonata sends out his voice, piercing the ear drums of many of the criminals. Hurtling forward with speed, Sonata slashes through two of his foes, then four, as the remainder are knocked to the ground, but soon the survivors are getting up, the guns in their hands turning in his direction.
"Fufu, yes, I mean, I can't be wearing a costume when I pick up my new "employee" now, can I?" Vanessa replied, smiling. "You ready to finally be my sidekick?" She asked, even though she already knew the answer.
Amethyst Heart smiled, seeing them dedicated... for whatever reasons to their path. "Very well." She nodded her head. "Then head out and trash that can." She declared. As the trio followed her, she left Erik on console duty, observing the clash and advising, while she herself floated some distance away, observing the clash.
The trip home only seemed to drain Jenny of any energy that remained and all she wanted to do was crawl into her marriage bed and go to sleep. But when her phone buzzed, she forced herself to check the device.
[I can't see the numbers for the roll, not that it really matters. Just a heads up.] Sonata holds a hand up and projects a transparent shield of vibrating air in front of him in case the thugs get some shots off as he closes on them. If he can get amongst the Broken Sickle members, he aims to incapacitate them as quickly as he can, green blades cutting and stabbing with brutal efficiency.
"Absolutely." He grins and moves to follow her. "Speaking of which... When do I get my costume?" Taking up position over a nearby rooftop, Amethyst watches the fight begin. So far, the team is holding their own, but they're clearly not working efficiently - the boys, eager to prove themselves, attack with vigor, while the more experienced former villainess waits, cautiously striking the robot whenever she sees an opening, and not guarding the boys at all. Together, the three manage to beat the robot quite badly, though not critically, and Amethyst spots two more approaching. Checking the information she's been sent, Jenny's eyes widen in shock. She recognises the 'client' Duke has picked for her - the very same man she's meant to be meeting after his 'hero business'. Infinity. (Damn it. See if this works.) Spoiler: Combat Roll D100: Sonata manages to close in before the thugs can get their guns up, meaning that he's too close for them to fire for fear of hitting their own men. They draw knives of their own, but are clearly outmatched by the hero's training. Only two remain, fleeing the fray and rushing deeper into the building.
“A hero? Me? I... had not thought about that.” Azura admitted as she squeezed Esmerelda's hand in turn. “It... might be nice...” She admitted a moment later. “Well, as long as the whole thing does not get overblown – I don't want people to have too high expectation about me... still, it will be nice to not have to worry about the police assuming I am a villain every time they see me...” She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Thanks, Esme – I needed that. I feel better now. A bit more confident, too.” She smiled at the redhead.
"Costume?" Vanessa leads him back to the car, "I suppose, when you finish your training. Right now, you can consider a three piece suit your uniform." She giggled, as she decides to drive Jacob to a luxuries suit shop to buy him some new clothes appropriate for his new cover job.
[No change. The spoiler itself works correctly. I see "D100:" when I open it but that's everything in the spoiler for me. It was working fine until a day or two ago.] Sonata sprints after the last two men. He breathes heavily, suffering infrequent twinges of pain from his almost-healed chest. That's right. Lead me to the rest of you.
"Wha-" Jenny muttered and slumped down onto her bed. How was this possible? For a brief moment a hope sprung in her that maybe Infinity didn't know who she was. But then she remembered their second encounter was in the very room she was sitting in. Infinity knew who she was and there was no way of mistaking that. "C-could the two of them... be working together?" she wondered and a feeling of crushing defeat consumed her. She'd given Infinity what little evidence she possessed against Duke and he'd returned nothing to her. This mission was supposed to be her team's big break! Their legitimization as a premier superhero team! Now Sondra had quit, Mike was tossed, Harry was injured and Ty was off God knew where doing God knew what; and Jenny... She'd risked her marriage cheating on her husband dozens of times over and now wasn't certain she could stop and for what!? Infinity had screwed her over and now he just wanted to screw her!? "AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!" Jenny screamed in pain and rage and threw her phone at a wall. She collapsed onto her bed and held Harry's pillow to her, sobbing into it as the full weight of what had happened fell down upon her. "I'm sorry..." she wept into the feather-filled silk. She didn't know how long she laid on her bed weeping, but when she finally gained control of herself the sun had moved close to the horizon. She reset the bed and cleaned herself up before she looked at her closet and the new costume it contained. Guilt, shame, humiliation and regret still coursed through her unabated; but there was another emotion mixed in as well. Anger. With barely contained rage, Jenny donned the skimpy new outfit. She stared at her reflection in the mirror and she shocked herself with how pissed off she looked. Her eyes caught the bag with the mysterious white powder and, not thinking clearly, she cut another line of it and snorted it quickly before repeating the process. She was in the mood to hurt something. Placing the bag back in its hiding spot, the newly attired Psychana set out on her patrol.
"If you win, maybe I'll have a surprise for you, too." Esmerelda smirks. "But enough yapping. It's time, I think, if I'm reading Daiyu right." She looks up at the crime boss, who rapidly approaches. "The preparations are in place." "Wow..." He says, as the fitter leaves the two alone. "I've never worn anything like this before. I never imagined..." (Damn. I'll just write things out as normal, then.) Following along, Sonata spots the two men stopping in front of a huge man in an ill fitting tuxedo, strangely pale, with the emblem of the gang on their neck. From the look of it, they're begging for help. The moment the drug hits her system, Jenny finds herself relaxing a little, the anger remaining, but the guilt and self-hate disappearing, as her body is caught in a euphoric rush and freed from the discomfort she's been feeling all day, that previously let up during her escapade at the gym. Taking into the air, Psychana sees several figures enjoying their evenings on their balconies gasp and gawk at her skimpy outfit, but the attention she's getting is clearly positive. After dealing with a purse snatcher, and rescuing a cat from a tree, the heroine hears the sound of real work - an alarm coming from a nearby museum.
"Hehe, well, get used to it. Lawrence is strict about dress codes." Vanessa giggles, "Oh, Lawrence is my butler. He'll be your teacher... and combat instructor." She whispered the last part as she smiles at Jacob. "Alright, I think that's perfect." She nods and orders three sets for him. After that, she checks her phone to see if the house is ready.
Jenny was surprised at how quickly and effectively the drug freed her of her guilt and she marveled at how good she felt. While still angry, she soared through the skies and took what solace she could from the appreciation of the people watching her. Their enthusiasm and excitement boosted her self-esteem. But as she flew past the museum she tapped into that anger again and swooped down to confront the crisis.
[I also don't see dice rolls] Amethyst Heart decided not to interfere... just. "Erik." She called through her earpiece. "Two more robots incoming." She said. She wondered how the team would react, not that they had heads up.
[Sorry. It's not a big deal if the rolls are too tedious to include. Up to you.] Sonata slows down to a walk, taking the opportunity to catch his breath while he sizes up the newcomer. Is he a vampire or something? Sonata raises his voice to be heard by the trio of Broken Sickles down the hall, adding the robotic, tinny effect to his voice which he's used before. "You must one of the men in charge. Mind telling me why I caught a mob of your men storming the building? I wouldn't want to be forced to tell the police about some kind of terror attack." He lets the thinly veiled threat hang, waiting for a response.
“I look forward to it.” Azura replied quickly before focusing her attention on the crime boss. “Alright, let's call our new friend and get to work.” Azura nodded at Daiyu and got up. “Anything in particular we should know about the place we are going to?”
Looking at the device in her hand, she sees a message from Lawrence telling her just that. Before she can leave, though, she feels Jacob pressing against her, her back pushing up against the mirror of the fitting room. Flying to the city's impressive art museum, Psychana notices a circular hole cut into a window, the cut perfect in its precision - just large enough for a person to slide in through, albeit a flexible one. Spoiler: Awareness Roll D100: 78+10 (Psychic drug) Hovering above the building before heading inside, Psychana's surprised to see, her senses sharper thanks to the powder, a small truck around the back, marked in the emblem of the museum. Or rather, she's surprised to see the two security guards waiting beside it, seemingly more interested in the traffic on the horizon than the tripped alarm coming from the museum. "You two handle this one! I'll deal with the newcomers!" The former villainess notices the approaching hostiles, and goes to engage both at the same time, leaving the boys to fight the damaged first one alone. She's certainly good, but alone against two powerful opponents, she finds herself being outmatched. Heart feels a sense of frustration - her experience is telling her that this team could beat these enemies without her help, if they just worked together. The huge man cracks his neck, slowly walking towards Sonata. "It's a little complicated." He drawls in an incredibly deep voice. "I'd be happy to tell you later, though - if you put down those little shavers." He gestures to her knives. "It's a small building, two stories." Daiyu answers quickly, as Azura's newest hero contact promises to be there soon. "Despite this, there are a number of secret paths underground leading to and from the building - I don't believe Chen knows about these."
