"Her domicile is on the top floor. Do you want me to take us there?" Dinah asks. "I can teleport us into the hallway, but her room's warded."
"Yeah, take us there." Felicia replied, looking at Michio to see if she had anything to say. If her companion doesn't object, they go to where Angelica is.
"Well, I don't know how literal it goes exactly. I don't really think on the surface I actually take after that old man. But our interest in discovery is there. All versions of Parasath care about defending the people under his care. There's a lot of other cards probably like that, but you probably know more about why it's the right one than I do. I suppose with the girl is that the Shinaruni aren't so much pure hearted, but driven by the goal to destroy all evil with strong enough morals that they don't stray from it, or go too crazy with it. They're all warriors with a purpose. It makes some sense to me. It's your spirit. Granted....that still bothers me." Julia had thought of this a little, but it was still unclear. "If you believe that in the recorded history that these spirits already been corrupted, it wouldn't make much sense that our spirits are what they are to begin with instead of their fallen versions. Yet, it even seems the rules of the spirit realm are such that their good selves exist along with their evil and fallen selves, all at the same one. Just another reason why to humans the mysteries of the spirit realm are still a chaotic mess. I couldn't tell you. It's possible that it doesn't even operate under a single dimension or timeline. Then I imagine the question is which version is this? Is this the one that keeps to staying how it is or the one that becomes worse? Or maybe..." Julia's brain strained. Each and everytime she thought she had thought of one thing, there was always a new question left unanswered.
Michio draws her sword, nodding her assent. Felicia feels her bond inform her of the teleportation spell a second before Dinah casts it. Vertigo comes and goes before the trio appear in a lavish hallway with warm, comforting lighting and red carpeting. A wooden door stands in front of the women. "This is hers." The enslaved nun points to the door. "Like I said before, it is warded. I can try to prevent the spell from noticing us, but it is difficult. Any mistakes will alert the entire compound."
"Nnnh." Groaning from the discomfort of teleporting, Felicia manages to recover just as they stand before a wooden door. "No need to do that, tell us, does Angelica have any powers? Like yours and that freezing barrier thing?" She asked, eager to kick down the bitch's door and regain her cards.
The nun's face down monster is revealed as Miracle Jurassic Egg. Spoiler: Egg Suddenly in great peril, the nun rushes to use her trap once the Dragoon's enchanted spear rushes forward to shatter the floating Egg. "Negate Attack!" Spoiler: Negate Attack Despite the nun's efforts, Adam was prepared for a response exactly like this, activating Dragoon's Quick Effect to shatter the trap. With his Attack now at 5000, the black-armored half-dragon's spear smashes through the Egg and impales itself in the nun's torso, dropping her Life Points to 0. She falls to the ground with a thud. A voice echoes from the darkness. "Victor, the defeated duelist is yours to do with as you will." It speaks in ancient Egyptian. Adam is able to understand it perfectly, perhaps due to knowledge of the language learned through his visions.
Too amped up to question who's speaking to him, Adam strides across the field, walking to where the nun sits impaled. Gazing down at her, he narrows his eyes. "You don't have to die. Swear to serve me faithfully, and never betray me, and I'll let you live."
Yumi thinks about Julia's words, listening quietly. While wondering aloud, the professors sees that the duel between Adam and the nun has ended with Adam's victory. The cultist lies on the ground with a spear through her stomach.
"I don't know." Dinah says serenely. "I've never seen her use any magic." Michio sheaths her weapon, readying herself to batter through the wooden portal. Spoiler: Magical Resonance Roll 98-10(difficulty)=88 success Felicia can tell there's a ward, and the alarm will probably work as Dinah says it will. Entering the room without taking countermeasures against the spell will alert all the cultists in the building to their presence in the room.
"Urgh, I'm not sure what it is, but it feels like if we just barge in there without precaution, everyone in this place will be alerted." Felicia grumbles, unsure what exactly she was feeling, just shrugging it off as bad. I don't suppose you know a way to disable that ward thing? She decides to ask the spirit that's been openly conversing with her. If that proves fruitless, she lets Dinah try and disable it instead, figuring they'll be tripping the alarm either way. "That is... unless we knock?" She mumbled, looking at her two companions to see what their reaction to the mundane solution was.
@Arachna The nun doesn't get a chance to respond before Adam feels that the woman is bound to his will. She lies on the floor, bleeding before her new master, as the shadows begin to fade from the room. Seeing Adam approach the cultist, Yumi joins him in standing over the fallen girl.
As the duel includes, she stops to see what exactly had happened, Julia having to look away at realizing the very much real injuries she was seeing. Not really interested in the scene, she could hear Adam make his demands and the girl was forced to obey them. Julia was somewhat torn. Should she be stopping this? But most of her sympathy was non existent at this point at best. Approaching with her arms folded, she looked at the girl with something of contempt and disinterest, before looking at Adam. "You know, if it wasn't her, it would have been us. She's the one who wanted to play this game in the first place." Julia said it, shockingly cold from her usual self. "I might feel bad for her, if she wasn't planning to do even worse if she got her way."
"Enough." He dismisses Red Eyes Dragoon, and the rest of his cards, before looking at the girl. "Can she be healed? She's of no use to me dead." He speaks aloud in Egyptian to the voice he heard before.
Julia hears Adam speak in Egyptian, seeming neither to her nor to the girl, before he turns to face his mentor. There's something...different about him. Something authoritative and equally cold, and for a fraction of a second she sees him somewhere else. "Her death would be a waste." The image dissapears as he speaks to her. "Why have a corpse when a servant can be so much more useful?" It's Adam's voice, but behind it the personality and experience seems so different, like it's the same man from a different world. Then, his eyes widen, and he seems back to his old self. "Wait, what? We can't just leave her to die - even if she is a bitch."
[Might as well show Dinah's roll for this.] Too weak...to exert...influence...Why do you...think we...must breed...? It...empowers us... Spoiler: Dinah's Spell Roll 89+10(Mage)=99 strong success "I have neutralized the ward. We may safely enter, assuming there's no physical traps." Dinah tells the others. "I'm surprised that went so well. I'm not as good with warding as I am with chronomancy." "So...I can bust down the door now?" Michio asks, impatient. "Fuck it." She charges, bursting the barrier open with brute strength. Spoiler: Angelica's Room The room is plain, especially compared to the hallway's rich decoration. There's no one within the room, aside from the one-eyed woman who just entered.
"I agree with Professor Meri. The girl said she wanted to break us. I see nothing wrong with doing the same to her." Yumi adds her opinion. The voice doesn't respond to Adam, having already completed it's task. The shadows continue to fade as all of them watch the Mausoleum disappear from beneath their feet. "What language was that?" Yumi asks the young man, eyebrow raised.
Seeing the shift in Adam's tone, Julia seemed a little surprised at the sudden tone, but ultimately decided if her student was going with his conscious, it was probably better to help him with that. Though, she couldn't be sure if helping her was truly the right thing. "I suppose not. Technically."
S-seriously? Are you seriously saying... sex... gives you more power? Felicia's face flushed as Dinah and Michio take action. The spirit's words taking a toll on her prudish mind, and before she knew it, her eye-patched companion had already broken down the door. "Right, hopefully no one heard that after we did all of that just to stay undetected." The red-head mumbles as she follows inside, Are you here? She calls out to her partner once more. "Angelica isn't here. Damn it." She grumbles, searching around the place. Growing a bit impatient as well, "Tsk. Hey, how many of you nuns are here, aside from this Carley person. Is there anyone else that can use the freezing barrier you used earlier?" Felicia asked, wondering what their next move should be. She figured Michio is eager enough to duel Carley. But Felicia was curious if there was anyone else as dangerous as Dinah in this mansion.
[I'm guessing that means she's alive?] "I, uh, think it was Ancient Egyptian." Adam, seeming far less imposing than he was just a moment ago, scratches his head. "Hey, Miss Yumi, could you give me and Julia a second?"
Spoiler: Commune Roll Tyrant 74+10(connection)=84 good Earthbound 6=6 very poor I am here, brave one. She hears the low, rumbling bass finally return. Spoiler: Perception Roll 9+20=29 fail Despite the voice's words, Felicia is unable to find her deck, or even just the Tyrant after an initial search. "No one else who's as good with chronomancy as me!" Dinah smiles proudly. "There's some people who are good with other disciplines, though. I know there's an alchemist, an elementalist or two, a warder, and probably others I don't know about."
