"I'll keep a lookout for anything that might give us a clue to narrow down the timespan." Adam nods before he leaves. "And I'll be careful - but given my vision of this city in ruins, I think too much caution might be dangerous, too." He heads out to speak to Alex."Sobekenfuru succeeded Amenemhat IV, but there was actually many female reagents prior to her ascension, though they never held the official title." Julia expanded on it a little but, but made a face thinking about it.
"I get the sense this was most likely even older than that. If this predates the founding of Egypt....then this would be the Kemet. It was just mostly called the Black Land. Mainly along the nile river where they held first settlements. Not even really an empire. More like just a few villages and given this would be a Neolithic age, notably the only major recorded one in the region being El-Badar. The Badarian's did a lot of trading in the red sea and with Nubia. If we're going into the first intermediate period....that might be something. Amenemhat III was in a heated battle against Ahmose the First for control of upper Egypt only to be driven out....so while the Egyptians were mostly careful about recording, any unclear rulership would likely be around that space...a local king or queen of Thebes perhaps? There were more than a few. Prior to that, Athothep the First ruled as a reagent during Ahmose's childhood....most likely if there's a possible ruler from that time it would either have to be her in some form, or part of the royal houses where there's no clear break in the line and a number of nobility held strong claims to the throne contributing to severe political instability leading to many frivolous wars to lay claims....that could potentially mean if she's anything like her ancestors, she may be more ambitious than she appears."
She gave some more clear thoughts to Adam before he left.
"But be sure to take care of yourself before pursuing any unnecessary risks."
